Groovy Baby!

Went to the Jura mountains for a bbq birthday party of a friend of a friend. Place was amazing you can see the lake from way up the mountain. Theme was the 60s. We were very funky yesterday. Adorable Hubsand with hair, now how can you get any funkier than that!!! Peace and love baby!

Heat wave or is it just plain old summer heat right now in Geneva? I am planning to cool off in Lake Geneva later on. I finally went swimming in the lake after being here for 3 years on Monday. It was quite refreshing, only I had to avoid the lakeweeds and ducks (watch out for duck fleas!!!) while fighting the current as well.

My lastest music fav : Gnarls Barkley... I love their song smiley faces!! Makes me get up and move my dancing feet and booty!

summer lovin'

Now that world cup is over (big sniff because I wanted to see the French win the game, especially to see Zizou hold the thropy.. but alas...) there are other things to be done.
Yesterday went to the one of the many so called beaches of Geneva- Bains des Paquis, to get some colour. Majority of the body is now my normal self colour, no more yellowpinkish pale skin, but areas I forgot to put sunblock- I am now red. Ouch...
I am also doing an online tutorial to improve my french. Must do it to get a future job...I have to speak only french now to A.H. as well.
My mama is coming to visit me in Aug. I am very very excited. I have seen my parents in over 2 years. My mom, A.H and I will fly up to London also to meet up with my dad. Yea man!!
Planning a camping trip again in Portugal end of Aug. I want to make the most of this summer as much as possible. Did I tell you how much I love my tent. It is a pain to transport because it is round, but to set it up it is super easy. But for Portugal we must get a more compact but yet spacious tent to bring with us. I think we will have to do another trip to France to buy one.

(Last Saturday went camping with Marc and our friend Kenneth (aka King of the fire!) in Valais, near Adorable Husband's grandparents place. It was a nice weather and we had some good bbq food. The next day we stopped by to see the grandparents and aunts. Got some pretty flowers from the garden of grandmother Pellaud.)

My posting update has been slow due to world cup demands.
So some stories of our trip to the St. Gallen OpenAir Festival. It took us about 3 hours to get to St. Gallen and to our surprise addition 45 parking fee once we got there. Adorable Husband had to bring out his very broken Swiss German to try to ask where the nearest ATM machine was.
Later after parking, Adorable Husband decided walking to the festival site was a good idea because we could hear the music, but as you all know sound travels. So being loaded with our camping gear... we saw several buses going to the festival from the carpark pass us. Lets just say I wasn't a happy camper to begin. But we finally made it to the place and had to trek and glide between several thousands of drunk, high, young people to find Marc's friend Tibult. Tibult, his girlfriend Wendy and her sister Tonina were staying in a teepee they rented and A.H. and I camped behind their teepee.
(our 3 second tent- a good investment because it was dark out by the time to go to the campsite and it was so easy to set up! Just throw!!)

The atmosphere was good. The weather was fantastic and very hot. So there were water fights everywhere and people squirting water guns. Music was blaring non-stop for 3 days (had to wear ear plugs one night because I kept singing all the songs I knew) and people were drinking and smoking non-stop for 3 days. I got up one morning and the people staying in the teepee next to us was still drinking beers. Hard core festival folks!
Saw quite a few cool concerts. Massive Attack, Franz Ferdinand, Che Sudaka the first night.
On Saturday we caught the Clap your hands say Yeah, Lovebugs (Swiss band), Damian Marley, and the Editors.
Before Saturday's concert we took a tour of St. Gallen quickly to restock our food and drinks supply and also to swin in a pond and take a bath. (Showers too crowded to bother to try)
On Sunday was the concert Marc had been waiting for. So in the morning we packed up our stuff and the boys took it to the car. Later went to the river to soak some sun and get ready to see Manu Chao. There were waves of people leaving as the day ended.
Manu Chao Radio Bemba Sound System started at 1745. We all were jumping and singing! It was a great crowd of young and old people. It was fantastic!!!! I have to thank Tibult, Wendy and Tonina. They were a great fun to hang out with and a great help since they spoke German and they showed us around St. Gallen. I give it a good highlight point of my summer so far!
