Christmas

I have been really awful about blogging lately. But we really haven't done that much since Rob's race.

We spent Christmas Eve with my Dad and the rest of the Warnicks'. It was a good time. We ate lots of food and played games as usual. The Warnicks' started a family newsletter this last year so we played our own little version of "Family Feud" in reference to events that took place in the newsletter. I think that my cousin Amanda could answer like very question! I'm pretty sure our team lost. We were sad that Natalie, Aric, and the kids weren't with us this year.

Right off the bat Robby and Uncle Matt had a good long discussion about snowmobiles. Rob can't wait to go now!

Robby and Whitney were actually texting each other, while they were sitting next to one another. Geez.....

Here are a few pictures of Rob and I on Christmas morning. We are very blessed and received a lot of gifts from everyone this year. We are both very thankful. :)

My new iPod Touch! Don't mind my closed eyes. Robby totally fooled me on this one. As I've said before, Rob and I are really bad at keeping secrets from one another. We always give each other "hints" and end up guessing. Anyway, this year Robby had me believing that he was just going to give me an envelope full of money so that I could go out and buy my own things. I was really bummed, and I let him know it, because I wanted to be surprised on Christmas. So he put this big envelope on the tree labeled "For my Wife", and one other present under the tree. He told me that was all I was getting. So I was totally convinced I was just getting money. So on Christmas morning, I opened up my envelope, and inside was a Circuit City gift card for $50 dollars...that was it. I was so confused!!! He just laughed at me and handed me my one other present under the tree. I opened it up and lo' and behold it was an iPod Touch!!! I was so excited! It was exactly what I wanted. Robby Davis...How dare you use such trickery against me....

I think that Bodie was getting a bit jealous that he wasn't getting any attention.

We also spent part of the morning with Robby's family. Catie and Chris were down from Layton, and it was so good to see them. Mom and Dad D. got me two new shelves for our food storage. I am so excited! They are actually easy to put up too, which will be SO nice compared to the other shelves that I have.....Ugh. We were very spoiled from everyone all the way around!


Here is my little Bodie under the Christmas tree. He has to be the MOST spoiled dog ever. This is kind of off the subject but, he snores REALLY loud now for some reason, so we got him his own little dog bed and moved him into the computer room to sleep at night. He won't stay in his bed at night UNLESS I tuck him in his bed with TWO blankets. Otherwise we'll find him perched on top of the couch in the morning. Anyway, we got him a new stuffed dog toy. It's one of those soft little wiener dogs that squeeks. He loves it. Whenever I come home now, he grabs it and wants to play immediately. He also got two new balls to play with too.

Our cute little Christmas tree. We've had this tree now for about 5 years and it still works like a charm.

Here are a few of my little houses. I usually put some artificial snow up there too, but I ran out of time this year. But they are still cute. Don't mind that my piano is missing the little knobs on the key cover. It is due to a visit from little Mason. He managed to get them off, and now I can't get them back on! All of my decorations are officially back in their boxes downstairs now. I like Christmas decorations and all, but after a while it starts to feel like there is clutter everywhere. It makes me anxious. I hate clutter.

We were also able to make it up to West Valley to visit my Mom and Steve. We were there when Steve's boys opened their presents. They both got new Nintendo DS's. Let's just say we didn't hear a peep from them for the rest of the day! We brought Bodie up with us to meet Steve's dog Hannah, she is a mini Schnauzer. They got along pretty well. Except when Bodie tried to sit underneath the counter top. That is Hannah's "area", she likes to sit there and pick up any food that falls on the floor, and beg. So as soon as Bodie tried to get near there she would stand in front of him and nudge him with her head.

Anyway, Christmas is over but we are very thankful for all of our friends and family members whom we were able to share it with. I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

Vrnnnn na na na na na......

That's the sound dirt bikes make if your wondering. Haha.

Robby had his very first official Wintercross race this weekend! He did very well and ended up taking 5th out of 42 riders! The top six were able to take home trophies. We are very proud of him. :) Sorry, I don't have any pics of the race....I didn't get to charge my camera for very long, and by the time Rob was ready to race, it was dead. I also tried to get some video on my phone.....but that didn't work either. I don't think that I have ever been more nervous in my entire life watching Rob do something. Especially since we watched some of the riders in his class a little earlier, crash, and then get run over.....Yikes. I think they were ok though....they all were able to walk off the track. As I was watching Rob getting ready at the starting line, I thought I was going to barf! I had such knots in my stomach, and I was shaking in my seat! I can't imagine what it is like for the riders right before the race! But there was no need to stress, he did great. :)

I would like to point out that is was freezing cold....it was a mere 7 degrees while we were there. Brrrr. The races are held indoors, however, they have to keep the gates open so that we all don't get asphyxiated, and die.

In other news, I spent Saturday morning doing some Christmas shopping with, Dad, Lori, Natalie (& Kiddos), and Whitney. It was fun to be with everyone. We took Mason and Mckenna to sit on Santa's lap. They were both so fearless! Mason told Santa that he wants tractors and chickens for Christmas. Haha.

This Weather.....

Is just crazy....but even more crazy are the people who drive in it!

On Saturday I was in Provo at my hair appointment. Throughout, I heard people coming in talking about all of snow coming down. So I thought to myself...well good, I'll be here for a few hours, so it will give some time for the snow plows to get out before I head home.

That is just not my luck. I started heading home, and none of the freeway had been plowed, neither North bound or South bound, and I'm pretty sure it had been snowing for over three hours. I'm also sure that the snow storm had been broad casted fairly heavily on the news. So you would have thought that the snow plows would have been out and about already. No No. They just weren't. I started on my trek home, and found out very quickly that the roads were all iced over. Making it pretty difficult to stop with any sort of quickness. My average speed was between 10 and 20 mph. I'm very glad that I had my Jeep, because I was able to call Robby, and he told me how to put it into four wheel drive. I can't imagine trying to make that trek in a car.

Well my usual 10 minute drive turned into an hour long. On my way I spotted, not one, or even two, but at least ten different accidents on the freeway. Each of which, involved at least three cars each. This is not even counting all of the cars who had spun off the road. The worst of it all was a Dodge truck rolled over on it's side, and another truck lost it's trailer. Luckily everyone seemed to be fine, and were getting adequate help from paramedics and firemen. Long story short, It was RIDICULOUS!!!

It is at this time of the year that I really don't understand some people. It's winter, it's cold, it's windy, making things icy, and all of these condition become much worse if it is snowing. So why is it that everyone still follows one another with only feet to spare in between, and insist on driving at normal freeway speeds?? Do you really think your going to be able to stop in time? We live in Utah for crying out loud, known for sporadic weather, you would think that everyone would know how to react when a snow storm comes in. But from what I saw on Saturday, it appears that the majority of people don't. So please everyone....drive safely. :)

Oh by the way, we got about 2-3 inches of snow at our house... Rob is not happy about it. Hehe.

Black Friday

Yes....I did it, and I survived.

I have actually never been shopping earlier or for longer, in my entire life. But I do have to say it was one of the funnest and most interesting things that I have ever done. Lori and her girls go and do the early morning shopping every year. They invited Whitney and I to come along for the ride. Natalie was invited as well, but she was sleep deprived already.

We began the hunt at 2:00 a.m., yes...you heard me, and it is not a typo. I went to bed at 11:00 p.m. and got a mere 3 hours of sleep. It wasn't as hard to wake up as I thought, maybe it was the excitement of it all. Our first destination was the Springville Walmart. We arrived at three and began searching the store for the items we desired most. For those of you who have never been, at Walmart they fill the isles with all of the "sale" items, such as big screen t.v.'s, DVD players, and Barbi Jeeps. We each had our own item we were responsible to grab, Lacie was down the isle from us ready to grab a Leapster, Lori was at the portable DVD players, and Whitney and I were going for the Barbi cars. It was really interesting to see how people acted. We were right next the Barbi jeeps, which there were only 9 of, and there was a lady there that had been waiting since 10:00 p.m. the night before. CRAZ-EE. As the minutes crept closer and closer to 5:00 a.m., the announcers on the intercom kept on getting more and more anxious. It was very hard to make out what she was saying because she talked so fast and so loud, but it sounded something like, THE SALE DOES NOT START TIL 5:00 A.M., DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THE PALLETS!

The store employees also kept on walking up and down the isle very anxiously trying to get everyone to clear the way. Lacie even told us there was an employee who kept on hitting everyone's bums, and telling them to get out of the way....yeah.....GROSS. It was about 6 minutes to 5:00, when there was a giant ROAR, and next thing I knew everyone was diving for the toys left and right, it was much like ants on a piece of half-eaten candy. It was nuts! So as soon as Whitney and I could figure out what was happening, we dived in as well, and got the Barbie cars, unscathed. Then we tried to maneuver our way out as quickly as possible. We may have ran a few people over on the way, but we were fourth or fifth in line at the speedy checkout. Yeah, we were awesome!

After we checked out, Whitney and I waited patiently by customer service for the rest of the group. The excitement was not over then. Soon we saw the paramedics heading our way and into customer service, where there was a man with a broken arm! We assume that either something fell on him, or he was trampled. But they had to cart him away in a wheelchair. Come to find out, there were two more people, who had to be taken away by ambulance, because they were trampled! Whitney and I escaped unscathed, but someone did scratch Lacie pretty good as she was diving for the Leapsters.

The rest of our trip was very mild compared to the Walmart experience. Everyone acted a bit more civilized as time went on. All in all, even though I had to wake up BEFORE the butt-crack of dawn, it was worth it, mostly just to see how crazy people in this world can be. Lori, Lacie, Lyndsie, and the rest of the gang were troopers, and I have to give them a lot of credit for that. Because Whitney and I shopped around for about the first ten minutes, and then dove for the first bench we could find at every store. We almost fell asleep on the couch at the mall. I'm not sure how they do it! I was a zombie. We ended up shopping for a total of 14 hours straight.

In other news, Thanksgiving was great! For the most part......We had Thanksgiving at my Aunt Andrea's house this year, so Robby decided that he and Cody would go riding before the feast began. As I drove up to my Aunts house, I got a phone call from Robby. It was Cody at first, but the message was, Robby needs a new bike.....OH NO. Come to find out Robby must have hit a really big rock, or something of that nature, and cracked the casing on the engine in four different places. As a result, all of the oil bled out of the bike. Robby was fine, the bike however, was not. We will hopefully find out on Monday what the damage will be.

The food was great, and after we ate at my Aunt's, we headed up to see my mom. They were just barely getting ready to eat as we arrived. So really got to stuff our faces! It was really good to see all of our family, and to spend some time with them.

Pre-Thanksgiving Festivities

We had a pre-Thanksgiving get together with Robby's family today. It is their "off-year", so Mom Davis decided that we could have a Thanksgiving dinner a few days before. I really like this idea because, we end up getting to celebrate Thanksgiving with both sides of the family. I don't like the idea of having to choose between families, because after-all, the holidays are all about being with family, all of it. So this was just perfect, no one will be left out of the Thanksgiving celebration. Josh and Alecia, (Robby's brother), weren't able to make it because Alecia came down with Strep-throat this weekend. We hope that she gets better soon!

Five Mile Frenzie

Sorry! We have had a lot of events these past couple of weeks, and I have been SLOW.

Robby and my cousin Cody went riding their dirt bikes at Five Mile on Friday. They pretty much spent the whole day riding, and as a result, Robby is so sore! I keep on having to rub is shoulders because he is so stiff. But, that is what happens when you go out and ride for about five hours. I had to work, lucky me, and then I came home and did some much needed cleaning in my house. As you can see, Rob and Cody, had much more fun than I did.

Mckenna's #1

It was also my niece's 1st birthday this last weekend as well. I really can't believe that she is one already. I swear we were just holding her in the hospital a few days ago. It's so strange how fast time flies. We had a little party at Natalie's house with the family to celebrate. As always, there was a lot of food. :)

Girls on the Loose

Wow....I have been pretty bad lately about keeping this thing updated. So be prepared for a lot! I spent last weekend with my Dad, Lori, and Whitney. We had an excellent time, watching movies and catching up. I also got to spend some time with my good friend Sally....sorry no pics of those events. We went to Boondocks, played some mini-golf, and fooled around on arcade games. Being the game pro's that we are we actually came home with some winnings! A leopard print slap bracelet,(We are all about the 80's), a jelly ring, and a fold-it-inside-out-and-watch-it-pop-thing....Yeah..Oh and one giant Now & Later. We are cool. We also did some restaurant hopping, and ate way too much...as always. :)

Boys Will be Boys, with Their New Toys...

Robby's dad just got his very first dirt bike, a Kawasaki KX 250 F. Robby got into dirt biking a few years ago when we were first married, and has been hooked since. As a result, for the past four years, Robby has been telling his dad he needs to get a dirt bike as well. So as you can see.....Richard finally gave in. It was cute to see their faces light up with excitement.

He was so excited to show it to me. :)

Mom's B-day

Sunday, November 2nd, was my Mom's birthday! Robby and I headed to the more northern region of the state, West Valley, to celebrate. I gave my Mom a little black shelf as a gift. It will be a nice addition to their newly remodeled home...courtesy of Steve, he is quite the craftsman.

It was the big Five-O this year for my Mom. It is really hard to fathom the idea that she is actually fifty. One, because I don't even feel like I'm twenty-two...so how can my mom be fifty? Two, I remember when she turned forty...and I swear it was only yesterday. Time goes by so quickly. Three, just look at her...she doesn't even look fifty.

As usual, we ate a lot of food, laughed, and shared lots of stories from the good ol' days. Whitney was her usual self, and text the majority of the time. [SIGH] If she could get away with it, she would probably quit talking, and use text as her only form of communication.

The cake was just a little too small to fit all of the candles. I'll have to bring a bigger one next time. :) Steve's daughter, Cassie, had to be right up front helping "Joycie" with the cake and candles. Her birthday is coming up soon, and all she could talk about was the kind of cake she wanted.

All in all, we simply had a good time. :) Love you Mom!

Halloween!

We actually didn't have much of a Halloween this year, but we made the best of it. I had class until about 7 p.m., and after I had to stop by the in-laws to do a few things. So I got home at about 8 p.m.. Robby actually went riding (his dirtbike) out at the Toole track with my cousin Cody and a friend of his. They had a blast, but just like me, didn't get home until after eight. So we got about 2 trick-or-treaters. Oh well, it was fun anyway. I also got Bodie dressed up in his pirate costume, here are some pics:

Well at Least We're Good at Something

As I mentioned before, Robby was out of town last weekend hunting. So I volunteered to help my Dad and Lori move some of their stuff into the new house. They had already gotten a pretty good chuck in, but there was actually a lot more that needed to come. Whitney was gone taking her ACT so it was just Dad, Lori, and I to begin with. Here are some pics of a few of the events.

As you can see, Whitney was extremely excited! Isn't she just brimming with enthusiasm? Haha.....I love you. Anyway, Lori's daughters Lyndsie and Lacie came to help us out a little while later, which I am extremely grateful for!

This picture needs to go down in the history books! My dad voluntarily SMILED for a picture! I think that he has become a professional at taking down and putting together wooden beds. After all, he's only had to help move mine, like three times. :)

Finally...I have gotten around to posting these so everyone can take a look. I've actually been kinda nervous to post them because there are a lot of you out there that are probably so much more creative at this than I am....It's nothing special. It's mostly all complements of the good ol' Cricket. These aren't the best pics, it's kinda hard to see the embellishments and things of that nature. But oh well...it's gives you an idea. I usually do a lot of two-page spreads. I like to have a lot of room. :)
