Jayden's first performance!!!!

Ever since I found out I was having a baby girl, I have waited for this day. I have always wanted to be one of those Mom's that have one of the cute little girls up on stage. I finally had my happy Mom moment for Jayden's Christmas recital. I really didn't know how she would do. When we would ask her to show some things she has learned in class, she'd freak out and say no! So, I figured this performance could go many directions. I was just crossing my fingers that she would stay on stage. That's all.

When we go there, she immediately wanted up on the stage. It was a good thing she was only the 7th dance in. I don't know how much longer I could tell her to wait. She was excited to be in her little Santa costume. She went behind stage, I ran like crazy to get back in to watch. She stood around for the most part. Did a dance move here and there. Tried to keep up with some of the moves.. and then done. I was soooo excited that she stayed on stage. SOOO EXCITED! Kind of funny, but I was the proud Mom seeing her up there trying to dance. YAHOO!! I tried to take a ton of pictures, I think I was annoying the people in front of me. So instead of taking 50 pictures during a 1 minute dance, I took 45. :)

first in line is Kailey, my niece. My sister Danielle is Santa's little helper..ha ha. She is perfect elf size! Sorry Danielle, someone had to say it. Then Kaysha, Danielle's youngest THEN Jayden.



Talon was pretty entertained at the recital with this little "dance hat". I wish I had a video to post. He would laugh so hard. There is just nothing better than hearing his little laugh. Love it! love it! Me and Rusty just stood back, laughed and watched him run around. Kids are just too much fun sometimes!




I FINALLY went and got my camera. Boy did that take me forever! Thanks Mel for storing my stuff! I laughed when I remembered what pictures we took last on the camera. I found one of my old dance outfits when I was a little girl and tried it on Jayden. She loved it. She thought she was a little star.


I will have to dig out the photos of me in that outfit and compare the two. Pretty funny.
Here are some pics of Jayden in her first attempt for dance classes. I had her in this class for a couple weeks and then decided she needed more experience or years behind her before she attempted this class. She was all over the place. They would have these cute flowers they dance with. All the girls are doing what they should with them, and mine?? Well, Jayden decided to ride her flower like a stick horse and run around the class. Yup.
Then when I saw her standing in the back corner of the class just standing there, I decided, she might just be too young. Dangit! My aunt then suggested putting her in this tap/clogging class with all young kids and see how she does. She loved the shoes that made noises. She seemed to fit in much better with kids her own age. She loves dance now. Next year we will try that jazz class again.



How sad is that picture of her by herself standing in the corner?? Poor thing. I am hoping she can keep up with this class next year.

Random things I have had a blast putting together!

This past little bit I have been having a ton of fun putting things together. I have learned a ton of new things... not good at them... but none the less, fun!


My first go around with making "dress" pj's. I have made better ones since this one, just haven't taken any pics of her yet. Not to mention, the dogs on the pj's are all upside down!! Hey, I am still learning!

Bracelets are fun! My aunt Debbie made them for Jayden and I LOVE having them. So I had to figure out how to make them myself! Did you know they sell these darn things for almost 15 bucks each!! No thanks!

I loved these little boxes! They were fun to make. They look like a fun little box and then when you open them up, it is a fun little surprise. 4 little boxes inside. Who thinks of these things? I gave it to my sister in law, who will be having a baby girl, and put little bracelets in each box.


Just a little diaper case.... I think they are a ton more fun than the normal green or white plastic!!

I am sure you don't know what this one is... It is a binki clip. Way easy and cute, I think. I had a hard time finding a cute binki clip when Jayden was little. So I was excited about this one. I think to put them together it cost less than 2 dollars! I am okay with that.



i don't have pics of some of the others... (I still haven't picked up my camera from my friends house. I am going on 2 months of borrowing cameras! Wow, I am lazy)

SIDE NOTE! Jayden will be performing with her little dance group next weekend! I can't wait. Although, I can see her standing there like a deer in the headlights and then run off. But hey, I am sure it will make for good video tape. She loves her dance class. Talon loves to watch her through the glass door. Pretty funny.

Halloween

Jayden LOVED LOVED her costume. She did not want to take it off. She would have slept in it if we had let her. My mother in law MADE her costume. She is amazing with all the kids Halloween costumes. Jayden made a very cute Snow White, if you ask me.
Talon was dopey. How funny is he? He never would let us put hats on him. He actually liked his Dopey hat. He even let us push his little ears out with the hat. He played the part well that night. They were just too darn cute.

Birthday boy...

It is better late than never! I need to finally post some pics of Talon's birthday. I had a MONSTER of a headache on his birthday so, needless to say, I was not in the mood to do ANYTHING! Sorry bud. I will make sure to do better on the birthdays I know you will remember. It is funny how with Jayden I wanted to do a big ta-da for her 1st birthday. As long as they have cake, food, some balloons and presents we are all good. At least for their first birthday. So I had to at least make a cake. I just made a normal cake and then when I grabbed it out of the oven I felt bad. I stared at it for a while trying to decide what I was willing to do (with a horrible headache) with a plain cake. So, when all else fails, make a football. You don't get more rookie than that. He had fun so, we will call it a success.


He hated touching the cake at first... boy did that not last very long. He went from this.... (just willing to stare at the cake)

Glad there isn't a hidden camera in my house.....I hope not.

So today I have been laughing for the majority of my day with the kiddies. Jayden loves watching Scooby Do. I love to just here her say "scooby dooby do!" Pretty cute. So what she does now is eat the frosting in the middle of the vanilla Oreo's and then tries to give them to Talon. When I tell her she can't give those to him, she gets upset and says he needs to eat his scooby snacks. I thought it was pretty funny.

She has been walking around the house singing words that just randomly pop in her head. She is hilarious to watch. Her dance moves she does to her music in her head is HILARIOUS. I really need to catch it on video tape. She dances like she is high. I know, weird way to explain it. She closes her eyes half way and goes really slow as she does a circle with her arms and walks slowly around the house. Then when she decides to kick up the beat, she dances like she is trying to get water out of her ears.. ha ha... I laugh just thinking about it.

This is why I say I hope I don't have a hidden camera. I was cooking dinner (yes, I can cook, sometimes) and so I had my itunes playing and the new Britney Spears song came on, so of course I start to dance in the kitchen while I am cooking (trying to make cooking fun. Everyone does this right?) So I turn around and Jayden is dancing like a mad women!! Talon was funny, he can't move very well obviously. He sat on his bum and moved his head and kept lifting up his left leg to the music. The best, is that he now goes on his hands and feet with his little bum in the air, then he does some kind of squat, shake with his booty. You have to give it up to him to know how to work with what he can do. Then of course he'll do the occasional hand clapping. Classic. So I just stopped cooking for the time being and we all danced like crazy people in the kitchen. Ha ha ha ha ha. If there were a hidden camera, I am sure Rusty would just roll his eyes at us. We had way too much fun dancing. I am happy to think my kids just might be a little crazy like me!! Good times had by 3.

Family pictures! Finally!

So we finally got our pictures taken. I feel bad that my kids don't exactly LOVE getting their pictures taken. Jayden has always been a little stink when it comes to pictures. She is now pretty much okay with the random pics that I do take of her. You just can't tell her where to sit and when to smile.... or she will protest the whole event. Yup, that is what she did. I am anxious to see how they turned out. Here is a pic that gives you an idea of how they were for us. Jayden wouldn't stay still. She was either climbing on me or running away from us and then throwing a fit. Thank you Natalie for being so patient with us!!! And Talon, c'mon...... can you see what this kid is doing in this picture. Yeah, they were interesting to say the least. Seriously, Talon.

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!!

Sorry, this post doesn't have any pictures. My friend Melanie took my camera. Okay, I might have left it. Just haven't picked it up yet. BUT, I had to post because I am just tickled pink with Talon. This kid is amazing now that he is on a good streak (knock on wood). He has actually slept through the nights for the past 4 days!!!!!! Holy cow! I am loving life right now. He has been so much better this week. He has been bubbly, laughing, and all over the place. I am begging and pleading that he starts to do a ton better from here on out. We have another Dr. appt in two weeks. I am hoping things will still be good. So anyway, I just had to post. I hope I didn't just jinx myself.
We have family pics this Saturday, so I am happy to see him feeling better. Oh, don't worry, I busted out with a HUGE cold sore. So, I am sure I will be a sight for sore eyes. (what's new) This will be our first little family photo shoot. I am excited to finally have some family pics. I know I am not planning on having kids any time in the near future so, it is time to have a good family picture. It will be fun. Cross your fingers that the kids don't throw fits the whole time!!! Just my luck.

Side note; Talon turns one this month!!!! I cannot believe how fast that year has come and gone. Poor kid needs a better year. Let's hope the next year for him is much better!!

Another side note.. I will have to post some pics of some of the other projects I have been attempting. With all the preggers I have in my family and friends, I have LOVED making new things for babies. It has been a ton of fun finding new projects to do. Granted, I am not very good at them, but hey, it's all about having fun right? I think Rusty is confused when I say doing these things are fun because, I do tend to yell at the sewing machine from time to time.... or the fabric, glue gun for burning, kids for not standing still while I measure.... whatever, good times. :)

Discovery Gateway

Awhile back we went to Discovery Gateway and Jayden loved it. They even had a little place for Talon to crawl around. It was nice to take the kids and get out of the house and let Jayden run around and get all her wiggles out. She always wants to go somewhere. It was a nice little break to just sit back and watch Jayden go nuts. Talon seemed so entertained to just watch people... so all in all, it was fun. Therefore, we bought a pass. With Rusty starting school again, this will help me not go crazy (It is a long shot).





She loved the play house that was just her size. She liked dressing up in the costumes and playing on the stage. My favorite was the little bull costume. Too funny. We also got to be news reporters. ha ha. I am sure we will be back again soon. Oh and I will have to add a pic of Jayden freaking out at the water fountains. Pretty funny. Poor little Talon just hunched over in his stroller zonked out. He was one worn out kid when we left. It was kind of sad to see him just haning over. I had no clue he was like that until we got to the elevators. Poor kid.








As for a Talon update.... Things don't really seem to be getting any better really. He still spikes up to 103 fever almost once a week. I went back to the doctors this last Monday and they will FINALLY be looking into a fever syndrome that is not too common. I guess before they start doing testing on him, my doctor wants to look into the syndrome a little better and see what kind of things we will be dealing with. So of course that makes me happy to see that they will finally be looking into something else than just saying "it looks like it is just a viral thing" I can't tell you how sick and tired I am with hearing that!! Well, then that night or the next night his mouth exploded in blisters all over the place! He wouldn't take a bottle for the life of me. It just hurt too bad. He still has the blisters and the nights are still REALLY long. I feel so bad for this kid. He just can't seem to get a break. There is nothing worse than seeing your kid sick and not being able to do much about it. I can't say things have been too easy around here. They have actually been pretty hard for me. I feel like sometimes I have missed out on some "mommy classes" and I am just walking around clueless. The sad part is, is that my issues fall on the such a small scale of things. I can't even imagine what a mother would do if you were dealing with a serious illness with your baby. It has just been hard for me it seems this past little bit. Poor Jayden has noticed how much attention Talon has needed and seems to be a little jealous. It is hard to be a Mom sometimes. I wish I was much better at this whole Mom thing. Maybe a little sleep at this point might make a difference. For the time being, I will have to keep taking deep breaths every morning when I stop at a stop light on my way to work. Take a little more time with each blink... and go on with the day. I just hope we can start getting Talon's health back on track.

Fun random projects...

So, I don't know what really got into me today... but I have had fun pretending I know what I am doing with a sewing machine. I'm glad you can't see these things too close up. I had fun none the less.

I had a bunch or random receiving blankets I never used. So, why not find a project for them. Since then I have found some really cute fabric I want to try this with. I couldn't decide if the flower or the bow looked better...


I don't know why they are loading side ways... oh well. I saw this fabric and loved it.I thought it looked perfect for a fu fu apron for Jayden. So far, it is turning out okay, for a rookie of course. Obviously it is not done yet, but hopefully I will finish it soon.

With the extra fabric I made Jayden a headband. My aunt Debbie is much much better at making these headbands. They have velcro on the underside to stay in the her hair. Surprisingly, it stayed in her hair very well. I will have to make some more (after I talk to my aunt of course, Debbie help me!!)

Yahoo!! Dance!!

So, I have a little boy that is REFUSING to sleep tonight. So, to keep myself from going absolutely CRAZY I am going to post about something fun. I am excited for Jayden to start dance tomorrow, well I guess today seeing how it is 2:30 in the morning!!!

She is pretty stoked about getting a "pretty dance dress". She has been practicing her turns all day today (yesterday). I am just hoping she pays attention in class and isn't the trouble maker that makes class 10 times harder to teach. I don't think she will be... she has surprised me before! My aunt told us that they will be learning a Tinkerbell dance in that class. Jayden makes sure to tell everyone she will be a Tinkerbell dancer. Pretty cute. Anyway, I can't believe she is finally able to take classes. She is growing up.

Where is my EASY button!!!

So I guess this is what I get for thinking I had it covered. Jayden was doing soooo well the first week of potty training. She then decided, "yeah, it was fun, I tried it. Don't care to do it again." Yup, SHE REVERSED ON ME!! I thought for sure it was in the bag. She decided on her own to do the potty training.. so I thought it was perfect timing. Well, of course Flaming Gorge trip and Yellowstone trip came shortly after. She didn't want to go in the public toilets. So, now we are back to square one... I have bought toys, treats, and even a cute Cinderella dress!! As soon as she knows she can't have it until she goes potty, she decides she really doesn't need the treat, already have enough toys and the Cinderella dress looks just fine in the box!! I can't even bribe this kid to sit on the potty. HELP ME!!

Oh how I miss boating!!!

We went to Flaming Gorge the end of July. I loved it!! I grew up boating with my family. I haven't been in soooo long. I didn't realize how much I really missed it until I got there. Jayden seems to love the water even more than I do! She is such a water freak! She seriously did not stop the entire day!! Unfortunately, the water kept coming up closer to shore. Therefore, It made a swampy mess close to shore. That seemed to be the place Jayden spent the most of her time. She loves water... just not deep water. Anyway, I am now on a mission to one day get a boat!!! My first goal on the list, convince Rusty this is a good idea. I might need to sick Jayden on him. Jayden even went on the three man tube pulled behind the boat, and LOVED IT! She would put her arms up and say "weeeee". Oh, how I miss boating.
