We are excited to be back for the New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the break for the holidays! We are excited for a new semester to begin! We hope to have many fun activities in the coming months. That being said, we will be having a meeting with all of our wonderful volunteers to plan out the semester. ALL ARE WELCOME! We would love to have your help and input to move this club forward!

Welcome!

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our newest members. We would also like to welcome back all those that are returning from summer internships or vacations. We had a wonderful summer and are excited to start our fall activities. There are a few positions in the IWFC (International Women & Family Club) that need to be filled. If you are interested in helping be in charge of ThunderKids, Tuesday Night Dinners, or Date Night please email tbirdiwfc@gmail.com.

We have our opening social tonight (Friday September 23rd). It will be at the FISH on campus from 5pm-7pm. The FISH is the area by the swimming pool. There will be pizzas, drinks, and refreshments as well as water games for the kids. This is a great way to get to know other members. Hope to see you there. Family Field Trip

Final Call for family field trip Tues. May 24!
We will be meeting at Pump it Up located at 14131 N. Rio Vista Blvd. Ste 5 Peoria, AZ 85381. We will meet at 9:45 a.m. Please be on time so that we can make sure we are able to pay a portion of your ticket. Please bring $3 in exact cash to cover your portion of the ticket. also EVERYONE MUST WEAR SOCKS -CHILDREN AND ADULTS so please bring socks for everyone! see you all there! Thunderkids Activity

Date: 5/11/2011 (Wednesday)

Time: 10:30am

Place: Rio Vista splash pad

Come and join us for some water fun. Please bring your swimming suits and towels so your kids can get wet. We will provide some snacks and drinks.See you there.

Ladies Night Out (Pajama party)

Date: 5/13/2011 (Friday)

Time: 7pm

Place: 21335 N. 77th Ln. Peoria, AZ 85382 (Please look it up on Googlemap as GPS won't lead you there) We are going to have S'mores, Chocolate dipped Strawberries and we will watch "Tangled" together at Shirley's house. Please wear your PJs or something comfortable.

The family field trip will be Tuesday May 24 at 10:00 a.m. We will be meeting at the indoor inflatable play zone "Pump it Up" located at 14131 N. Rio Vista Blvd. Ste 5 Peoria, AZ 8538. This is the only open play time available and it is for children 6 and under. Please r.s.v.p to emilyboonethomas@gmail.com by Saturday May 14. The cost will depend on the number of people attending, but should not be more than $3 per person.

Here are the activities that we have available this week. 

Closing Social

Tuesday, 4/19, THE FISH, 5PM

This is going to be HUGE!!  The IWFC will be providing all the food - Pizza, Subs, and vegetarian options will be available.  We will have water games and a splash/bounce house for the kids to play in.  You may want to bring swimsuits for the kids as well as towels.  Swimming at the pool is also open.  Please meet at THE FISH (by the pool on campus) at 5pm for a GREAT time!  We will be saying goodbye to our amazing IWFC President April Armendariz and introducing the new President.  Please come and bring your kids and spouse.  Many of our friends are graduating and moving on or will be gone for the summer.  This is the perfect chance to say goodbye and have a good time visiting.

Please meet at the Rio Vista Splash Pad (8866 W Thunderbird Rd # A, Peoria, AZ 85381)  for a Splashin' good time.  Remember to bring swimsuits, towels, and sunscreen for the kids.  There are picnic tables nearby as well as a play area if you would also like to bring a picnic lunch.  Hope to see you there.

This is LIMITED - there is room for 15 kids.  Please RSVP to Rachal-Marie MacDonald at jkrmac@gmail.com with how many kids you would like to drop off and their names if you are interested.  First come first serve. You can then drop your kids off at the Sobo Lounge from 5-7:30PM.  18 months and older only.  Please have them fed and well rested. Please mark all bags/ sippy cups/ snacks with your child's name.  Be promptly back at 7:30 to pick up your kids and have a fantastic date! :)

~Over half of the current committee members will not be here this summer therefore we are in need of the following specific committee members. Positions available and job descriptions:

Thunderkids: Will be in charge of running a weekly activity for kids during summer.

Tuesday dinners: In charge of bi-weekly Pot-luck Tuesday dinners during summer.

Ladies Night out: In charge of organizing a monthly activity for ladies in the club during summer.

Secretary: in charge of IWFC blog ,take notes in the meeting and sends out the weekly activity emails to IWFC members.

The more help we get, the better activities we can provide. Please send an email to shirleylam723@gmail.com if you are interested in helping out. Please feel free to email Shirley any ideas that you may have or attend a committee meeting to let us know what you would like to see. This is a club for us, by us-- please help make it the most fantastic IWFC ever!
