we decided to bust out the old wii sports game, because it has been a while, and now eli's old enough to understand what all the different sports and get excited about what he's seeing.
as soon as i turned it on, the boy absolutely HAD to play, and as it turns out he did pretty well. or wii games are designed for 2 year olds, which seems more likely. either way, he successfully played a round of golf without any help, and even got par on one hole. (footage not found)

the latest scolding
eli has a way of being bossy. i think he can feel that he is becoming a big brother. he often tells jamey and i what we can and can't do. today i caught him giving poor minnie mouse an earful. he walked right up to her (on the fridge) holding his shoes in his hand. the interchange went like this:
e: no, you not
mm: (no response)
e: no, you not hit a shoes minnie mouse
e: listen me minnie mouse, listen me
e: you not hit a shoes ok? bye
i think she took it fairly well, now we'll just wait and see how his little brother does.

i updated my little brother's blog today, but i couldn't resist sharing a couple of thoughts on this blog as well:
gem #1:
"we went to an old investigators house we had never met with before, and they were way crazy!! the doll in the picture is like their kid.. they are old and don't have any kids so they went a little crazy i guess, bought a doll and act like its their kid, the grandpa carries it everywhere, they have pictures with it, at like all these different places, they have a room for her, have over 50 pairs of shoes for her, they have fake food for her"
this is dano's explanation of the above photo to which i would like to add the following points... can we PLEASE talk about what he's wearing? A floral turtleneck (a bold start) followed by a flannel and a sweet sweater circa 1989? secondly- how does this little lady own more shoes than i do?

"we shared the joseph smith experience, and asked her what she imagined it looked like, then showed her a picture. she said 'i saw it a little different.' she went up to the board and drew a ufo with a beam coming down, and jesus and god in the beam"
of course- the UFO...
