Ten/Tin

Today is our tenth anniversary. Little did we know how much we would go through and grow through together. Little did we know that we would be blessed with two little girls, who would bring us so much joy and keep us laughing every minute. 

Our journey started pretty typically, but soon after we married {a year exactly} we moved to Spain and lived there for two years. Crazy, bonding time with each other - but fantastic journey for us as a married couple.

This sweet man of mine gave me the most sincere, kind gift this year. He went to Starbucks, my favorite of favorites and bought ten gift cards. On the outside of the card is a year from our marriage and on the inside key phrases, parts he treasures from that particular year. Then, he told me all about each one and why I meant the world to him. Seriously, does it get any better than that? I assure you it does not.  I may, or may not have, been doing the ugly cry about halfway through. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. He is amazing {husband, dad, son, employee, friend, etc}. Amazing. I am blessed.

So here's to TEN {tin is the "gift" for that particular marriage year}. Looking forward to the next ten...and the next... Love you honey! Happy anniversary!

Paper

New scrap supplies means happy, playtime for me. I love patterned paper and stamps and tend to have a bit of a paper addiction {I try to keep it under control most of the time}. Here are some old photos in a new layout:

Spring Break

Maddy's spring break was this past week. On the nicest day, we headed to the St. Louis zoo for the day {and managed to squeeze in a little shopping and dinner at the Cheesecake factory}. We had a great time. It was Brook's first trip to the zoo and she loved every second. 

We were long overdue for a trip. Check out Maddy the last time we were there:

There was a fun train ride. Who knew the favorite part for Brook would be the dark tunnels? She would clap and squeal every time we went through one!

It was a fantastic day that was much needed for all of us. We returned home, exhausted and happy with memories of a good, family day. Poor hubby was sick the rest of his vacation, so we relished the time we had on Tuesday together.

Last weekend

Last weekend, we had plans. Plans to spend the night in an RV with my parents and to go to a theme park on Saturday. Plans that would change fast - due to weather {seems it is always about weather these days.} We did spend the night in an RV. We did hear gagging in the night when Brook was between us. We do know what is coming when we hear that sound - and it is never pretty. And yes, she did throw up strawberries and strawberry juice on a brand new bed in an RV that has white covers all over it {and on herself and us} at 3am. {Seriously, makes you want to invite us over sometime, huh?} We were laughing so hard while cleaning it up, bathing Brook in the kitchen sink and trying not to wake up the whole RV in the process {Maddy kept giving us dirty looks because we were not successful in keeping quiet}. Needless to say, we were all a little sleepy the next day.

We did not make it to the theme park since rain, ice and snow were on their way and we did not think that would mix very well in an RV. So, we cut the weekend short and headed home. On the way home, another milestone. Maddy was making fish faces in the mirrors over the stove on the way back and out pops a loose tooth. Yep, both our girls broke in the RV well. Puking and losing a tooth, what more could you ask for? It was fun, eventful and fun. Memories in the making!

Fun Project

I have been wanting to make these for about a month now and finally found some time to get it done. They are coffee filter flowers {idea found here} and they are so pretty! It makes me want to go out and buy some glimmer mist and spray them with spring colors!

Simple

This week has been crazy.It seems like forever since I have blogged anything at all. So here is a quick post to get back into the blog {and while I filter through hundreds of photos from the past week events}. So today, happy with the simple things.

New canisters to replace the ones that we received for our wedding almost 10 years ago. And bonus - these are from here and are super cute and super cheap! And the color makes me happy!

We finally made time for Madison to get a haircut, complete with a sucker and a balloon for both girls. She is happy, I am happy, everyone is happy!

We have started, a little late, getting some spring/Easter decorations out. Seriously, where has the time gone? Simple, cute, bunny garland {idea from here}. 


The most simple thing of all that makes me not only productive, but lifts my mood - sunshine! It has been lacking lately around here and I am happy it is back!

Glasses

We are the glasses family {or Elvis family according to Maddy}....at least for today! Spring weather will make you do silly things.

We love the hubby's day off. It brings out the silly in all of us!

Blah

This week the weather has been blah...until today. We have not seen the sun around here in days.It has been too long. So today, hello sun - thanks for coming back {at least for a couple of days before more rain and snow}. We have been inside for too many days in a row. The weather required boots early in the week:

We made a tent/house in the living room which is occupied with babies and decorated by the oldest:

there was...

There was a birthday this past week. It was mine. The age is shocking, but not hideous. I guess it is all perspective. The day was perfect. It lined up with the hubby's day off, so we spent the entire day together as a family. Perfect. 

There was lunch, Starbucks {free drink coupon makes it even better}, naps, shopping {for the girl's Easter outfits} and gifts. It was perfect and lovely.

Missing the sun

Half of this past week, the weather was perfect and spring like. We are back to cold, rainy reality now. But, we were able to get out and enjoy some of the pretty weather before it changed.
