Then after they were done doing that, Matthew showed Ben that his scooter could also be a walker. They had so much fun together and Ben loved all the attention!
We started the day at 11:00 with a turkey "dinner" at Gustav's. Our kids had fun and loved the food.
We shared the day with Brent and Amy's family,
Clint and Kerry's family (Amy's sister),
and our good friend Aaron joined us too. All the kids were thrilled because he is so much fun to be around!
And of course my sweet parents were there to head up the whole party!
After dinner we went to a movie and then to the church to play Lay Family Dodge Ball. With that many boys in the house we needed a little energy release before we went back to the house to enjoy more food, football watching and Wii playing!
I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, six great kids, and a fun family that lives close. We have been through a lot this past year with Andy's brain surgery and then him getting laid off but I'm feeling very grateful for my faith, for my family who is very willing to help out in our time of need, for Andy finally finding a job, and for the blessings we receive each day from our Heavenly Father!
One of Matthew's favorite gifts was Wii Party. We had a blast playing it together after he opened it. He also got a camera from his grandma and grandpa. Matthew loves to take pictures so he was excited to get this gift.
Matthew designed his own cake again this year. He wanted to have dirt bikes on his dirt track but the only Legos I could find with a dirt bike came with mummies. Matthew was a good sport and settled for a dirt bike with mummies chasing after it.

During this unit they also made a headdress and robe. It was a fun way for Matthew to learn about the natives from our area!
She needs a little help getting started sometimes but after that initial push she is good to go and can even slowly stop on her own.
