Belated post - Cousin Day

Cousin day 2009 actually occurred on Dec. 22nd - so this post is a little bit late. But better late than never right?!

All of my cousins on my mom's side of the family got together on Tuesday for our Cousins day. April and I hosted a cousins day back in 2005 - forever ago - before Riley and Wyatt. So cousins day was way overdue!!! Cousins day started at Mark and Tina's house for some gingerbread house decorating. The two youngest cousins snuggled up on the couch together - I use the term snuggle very loosely!! Riley loves Wyatt sooooooo much : )

Getting ready to go in for a kiss.......

Whispering sweet nothings into Wyatt's ear!

Singing jingle bells together and Wyatt trying to escape from all the lovin'.

Zach's Christmas tree.

Brooke concentrating hard!

Jonathan's house took a tumble and Hayden clearly is too cool to take pictures. Matt (throwing the peace sign) not too cool for pictures - thank you Matt!

The house that wasn't.

More concentration and some mean decorating skills.

Matt and Hayden showing off their gingerbread house. Again, Hman was too cool for pictures.

Brooke and her final product - she took a long time to perfect her house.

While the decorating was taking place in the other room, the smallest cousins were playing house. There were a lot of directions given by the little girl to the little boy - who had no idea what she was saying! It is going to be fun when Wyatt starts talking and these two have conversations with each other!!

Uncle Brady joined us via Skype from Qatar - Riley loves talking to Uncle Brady on skype as you can tell - she is up in his face!

Wyatt wrestling with his cousin Zach. Zach is so cute with Wyatt, I really enjoyed watching him play and interact with Wyatt.

Some of the guys hanging out on the stairs (and Riley in the background doing who knows what) - Zach, Jonathan and Wyatt.

Riley getting ready to go see "Anna Claus". I couldn't get her to look at me for a picture but you can see the outfit which was adorable! Love the boots.

After the gingerbread houses, we headed to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa. Miss Riley LOVES Christmas but not so much a fan of "Anna Claus." She was very concerned as we waited in line to get our picture taken.

Cousin picture with Santa! April calls our group of cousins the oldies, the middles and the littles. The oldies consists of myself, April and Jonathan (and Jacob by marriage! He was working so not present for cousins day). The middles consists of Zach, Brooke, Matt and Hayden. And the littles would be Riley and Wyatt. Wide range of ages!!! We are all first cousins except for Wyatt.

Everyone got their individual pictures with Santa - this would be Wyatt's 3rd time to see Santa this year. It just never gets old!

But when the boy gets tired, its time to be done with Santa pictures!

I took these next few pictures for Jacob. Wyatt doing things his daddy loves to do! A little bow hunting if you will : ) Wyatt and Zach.

Riding around in your ATV at the deer lease!

Taking the boat out for a little fishing.

Getting kissed by the ladies with some lipstick evidence! His daddy doesn't do this any more : )

This would be the lady that left her lipstick mark - Wyatt's Great Aunt Mel! Super cute picture.
Cousin day was cut short for April, Wyatt and myself because we had to head north to change clothes and load up to go meet Jacob at the fire station so that we could start our road trip to Colorado!
Hopefully we won't go another 4 years before the next Cousins Day!!

Christmas Day

Since we have a sickly little Wyatt, our Christmas day pictures are not too terribly exciting - I don't think we even made it out of the cabin. Real quick update on our sick snow man: Christmas day his fever was around 99-99.5 and the congestion was pretty consistent, rough night of having to hold him while he slept because he was too congested to sleep laying down, then today his temperature was up to 100.4 and his snot was no longer clear. So, Jacob and I took him to the ER and got him checked out. Everything looked good but his poor little ears - we have our first ear infection (hopefully the first of not too many). Anyway, today has been better and he seems to be feeling much better - we will see how tonight goes as far as mommy and daddy getting some good sleep. The plan for tomorrow is to FINALLY go skiing!!!

Back to our Christmas day pictures. Since the night before Christmas was a long night for Wyatt's parents, we had a late start on presents. Wyatt was patiently waiting to dive in to his Santa gifts.

"Wake up Dad, I want some presents!!!!!!!!!"

Hello Snotty Face Wyatt

And here he is opening up one of his gifts - can you tell he wasn't feeling well? He totally laid down himself.

Sweet - wrapping paper!!!!

He loves his new little people school bus. It sings this little song that is SOOOO not annoying when you hear it over and over and over again - "Stop and go, stop and go, blah blah blah blah" to the tune of "this old man, he played one...."

Santa brought Wyatt some building blocks that he is very interested in - I guess we will see how long we are interested in the new toys after the holidays.

I love this picture because he totally has his back to the camera - as if we didn't want to watch him open his presents - or he was made at us for not giving him what he really wanted!

So Santa took it easy this year on Wyatt's gifts. I figure we have probably two more years before Wyatt really gets into Santa gifts and making his own list, etc. Wyatt was very happy with his 2-3 gifts - which was very easy on our pocket books!!

Thank you Santa - I LOVE my school bus!

Santa brought Max a fun little toy that of course he loves. We had to block Maxwell from entering the living room so that he wouldn't take off with Wyatt's little people. Unfortunately, Max isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He clearly couldn't fit through the area between the chair and couch however, he kept trying to fit through it OVER and OVER and OVER again. Not so smart but he is so darn sweet : ) Oh Maxwell - life would be so boring without you!

And Cheyenne loved her new toy from Santa - I am sure this toy will last approximately 5 minutes once she and Max play tug-of-war with it.

Later on in the day, Wyatt enjoyed one of his yummy biscuits - which he is only allowed to have on occasion because they are so messy but he really loves them.

Sup!

Now fast forward to today - I didn't think it would be a good idea to take pictures of us going to the ER today, mainly because I was pretty upset at the fact that my little boy is sick and we were taking him to the EMERGENCY ROOM - that just sounds scary. But after we got back, my boys took a nap together and I just had to take a couple of pictures because it was so sweet!
Daddy and Wyatt cuddling up together.

Tired Hoffart boys - not sure why I wasn't napping while they were napping - I have yet to master the art of "sleep when the baby sleeps" - maybe next time around!
Tomorrow: hopefully the Hoffarts will hit the slopes and I will have some pictures to share!

Merry Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve in Colorado : ) Two things about these pictures: #1 I love love love this outfit that my mom bought Wyatt from BabyGap. It just screams mountain baby to me and I love it to pieces. This is one of those outfits I wish he could wear forever and not grow out of. #2 I really wanted to get a picture of Wyatt in front of the fire place on the eve of his 1st Christmas. These were some of the better ones.

Wyatt went almost 9 months with a perfect health record. My poor baby has his first cold and how appropriate that his first cold coincide with his first Christmas. He is incredibly congested and his little nose is so snotty : ( So we have taken several steam baths and the old school humidifier from my childhood has been running non-stop for two days now. Wyatt thinks the humidifier is a new toy!

My poor sick little Wyatt Aaron.

After a Christmas Eve steam bath, Wyatt got dressed in his Christmas PJs.

And a very happy boy he was playing with April.

We took a few Christmas Eve pictures before bed time - and excuse my hair and appearance, I had just taken a shower and we wanted to get a few pictures before the little guy passed out.
And if you are wondering why my left antler looks broken, that would be because Maxwell took a bite out of it and my mom tried to staple it together. Classy : )Ready for some Santa action!!
