Birthday and Christmas Extravaganza!

We celebrated Kate's 3rd birthday Saturday! We had a great party at our home. We rented a bounce house (one of Kate's obsessions right now) and had friends and family join us for pizza and cake. We did a princess theme. Kate had a great time! Happy 3rd Birthday Kate! Mommy and Daddy love you so very much!

Don't look too close at the cake. I made it the night before and the next morning I found most of the pink border had fallen off. Mom and I had to do emergency surgery and it didn't look so good when we were done. Oh well, it tasted yummy!

Kate is so funny. She shows no emotion the whole time she's opening her presents. I know deep inside she is super excited about her presents but she is not letting anyone know it. I think she was so overwhelmed with all the gifts that she didn't know how to react.

This was our first year to host Christmas at our house and I was so excited to use our new dining room table and our china. It was so fancy and fun! We are spending Christmas with Leland's family this year so we decided to do my side's Christmas party this same weekend. Talk about a crazy day, but so much fun!

And more presents! Poor Kate is ruined I think. She thought it was just the never-ending day of presents for her and wanted more after all of that!

Morgan really got into it this year

We had such a great day but I was happy to be able to relax after it was all over....and Christmas isn't even here yet. I have a feeling it will be like this every year for the next 15 years!

Morgan is 15 Months!

I think I forgot I had a blog. This time of year is insane for us! So Morgan turned 15 months old a month ago. haha! I'm late I know. She FINALLY started walking right around this time. However, she still prefers crawling. I think she doen'st like how slow she is when she walks so she just speed crawls to get where she's going. I think Kate was just about running by this point! Her check up went well, however her weight has dropped from 25th-50th% down to 10th%. She only weighed 19lbs. 13oz. I think Kate weighed this at her 12 month checkup. She likes to eat though and I hadn't noticed her getting skinnier. Her doctor thinks maybe she's just settling into her growth pattern and will just be a petite girl. We will go in for a weight check soon to make sure it's not dropping even more.
Some of the things Morgan is doing: Her favorite word is "no" but it's not just a simple "no". It's more like "nnnnnnnnnoo!" She calls Kate "sissy" and tries to say Sadie but sounds like "sha-sha"...exactly how Kate used to say her name. She has the cutest laugh and loves to wrestle around on the bed and do sommersaults (with my help). Kate recently taught her how to do "Ring around the Rosie" and they laugh when they fall down. When she gets mad at us or doesn't get her way, she lets you know! She is still taking 2 naps a day and sleeps from 7:30pm-7am. She loves to cuddle and lay her head on our shoulders. She is such a sweetie pie and we are loving seeing her personality come out. Love you Morgie!

Halloween Fun

Our neighborhood does this fun thing where we go from home to home and one is a "trick" house and the other a "treat" house. We do games at the trick homes and yummy treats at the others. We didn't participate last year, but this year we planned to. This was the day before Halloween. Unfortunaltey, Kate was running a fever and not herself the day of the party. I took Morgan out to it and Leland stayed home with Kate while she snoozed and missed out on all the fun :( The last house was a BBQ and when Kate woke up Leland got her dressed in her costume and brought her out for a little bit.

Halloween night! We couldn't decide if we wanted to take the girls trick-or-treating in our neighborhood or go to our church festival. Our church was doing a fun outreach party and had bounce houses, games, food and of course, candy. Kate loves bounce houses so much we figured she would have fun doing that. I think next year, we'll switch it up and do the trick-or-treating thing.

October Fun

(I meant to post this at the end, but don't know how to moved photos around once I post it.) This photo describes a typical day in the Wells' household. Pretty much Kate harassing Morgan and Morgan getting annoyed with Kate and overexaggerating everything. haha! They will be fighting one minute and loving on each other the next. I'm not sure what it will be like when they're teenagers and fighting over clothes or shoes!

Today we took the girls to Owen's Farm pumpkin patch. Kate was so excited to go and had a blast. It was like 80 degrees so it didn't feel like fall time at all, but that's Texas for ya.

Kate wanted to be a princess for Halloween and so she picked out a Cinderella costume with some princess jewelry. We had to try it on as soon as we got home!

Morgan is going to be an octopus. I know that's random but I found it at a consignment sale and it was so cute I had to get it. I'll have to post pictures of her in it when we get ready for Halloween

Sick Morgan

The other night Morgan had some sort of stomach virus and kept vomiting about every 8 minutes. It was not fun and I felt awful for her. I went on a quick walk and came home to find this! Poor thing. I gave Leland a bowl just in case he needed to grab it for her real quick.

I just thought she looked so pathetic holding the bowl and sound asleep. If you're wondering why I went walking and left her while she was sick.....I just had a procedure done on my leg to get rid of my vaicose veins and am suppose to be walking a lot to prevent a blood clot. Normally, I wouldn't have just left my little sick baby girl, but Daddy is always a good caregiver when Mommy is busy!

Catching Up

I have so many random things to blog about that I'm throwing them all in one post! I used to be really good about blogging all the time but I find I'm getting lazy uploading pictures on my computer and then lazy about uploading them on my blog because it takes so much time! Anyway.......

Kate and I went on a walk and came home to find Morgan awake from her nap and sitting in Daddy's Mustang. She was so cute just sitting there very still.

My grandfather (aka Pappy) celebrated his 85th birthday September 1st. So we had a party for him at my parent's house. I got some really cute pictures of Kate playing ball with him. She had fun and I know he enjoyed playing with her. I love that I have these pictures to show Kate someday and talk about Pappy to her and tell her what a wonderful person he is.

If you're wondering why Morgan looks like she's been in a fist fight, well it's because I'm an awful mother and wasn't watching her fall out of her little car she was sitting in face first on the driveway. Poor baby. I was watering the plants and had my back turned to her to hear a sound I'll never forgot....her faceplanting the concrete! She had a blooding nose and lip but got over it pretty quickly. Anyway, here we are again at Pappy's bday party.

One night Leland let Kate play a matching game on his computer. He called me in there and told me she is did it all my herself without his help. She has a very intense focused look on her face. Smarty pants!

Normally I bathe the girls together every night but Morgan got her bath early and went to bed. Kate got to stay up late that night and took a bath in Mommy's jacuzzi! She thought it was the coolest thing ever!

I love this picture! Kate loves to take showers. I got out to dry off and came to get her out and saw this. I had to snap a photo because I thought it was so cute....and good for blackmail of course.

Morgan's 1st Birthday!!

Morgan is our big 1 year old!!!! Morgan you are the sweetest baby a parent could ask for. You are so laid back and affectionate. Happy Birthday sweet Morgan! We love you more than words can express! Ok, so I'm late posting. Her birthday was August 29th and I have been so lazy about blogging. But here it is. Leland and I took her to the Arboretum today (Kate is at Tassy and G's) and I took her one year photos. We had to capture this wonderful milestone in her life!
Ok, so we had a party for her the weekend before her birthday at our house. These photos are in no particular order.....and I'm really disappointed that I didn't get some better pictures. I didn't even take a picture of the cake I made for her! I guess I was too busy hosting.

Morgan I love how affectionate you are. You love to wrap your arms around our necks and hug us or lay your head on our shoulders. You play really well by yourself so mommy can get things done! You love your big sister and she loves you so much! You are starting to show a bit of a temper when you don't get your way or when Kate takes something from you. You babble a lot and say Mama, Dada, and I think you are saying Sadie but not sure. You are the BEST sleeper and I thank God for that daily! You still take 2 naps a day about 1.5-2 hours each. Bedtime is 7:30pm and awake time is 7:30am. You are a great little eater. You are not walking yet, but cruising around furniture or walking if holding on to our hands. You are just a blessing and a beautiful baby and we can't imagine life without you! Happy 1st Birthday and we look forward to many more to come! We love you, Mommy and Daddy
