My CRAZY husband!

My crazy husband decided to try a new haircut this time around. Instead of just shaving his head...he left enough hair for a nice Mohawk! We both laughed pretty hard about it! He only kept it for a few days...I think it made his hats fit funny!


I think he's trying to look mean here! Is it working?

Even Daisy got spoiled this year! Santa brought her a new bone and toy! Lucky dog!

Before making our way to visit our families on Christmas, we had our own little "First Christmas." Santa was really good to us this year! He left us all sorts of goodies and stockings full of treats! My hubby gave me a pair of cowboy (cowgirl) boots and a Willow Tree angel. I gave him a few hats, including a real nice cowboy hat! We had a good time celebrating the holiday at our home.

CHRISTMAS MORNING

Christmas morning was loads of fun! Gram and Gramp D. were there along with all the kids and grandkids! Mom D. fixed a delicious breakfast for us and then we all exchanged gifts. We spent the morning laughing, chatting, and playing with all the toys the kids received. We are so thankful to have family nearby so we can spend the holidays together!

All sorts of fun was had with the family! Mom & Dad D. got a photo frame and certificate for a family portrait, we gave our nephew a toy bow, my sister-in-law and I got really pretty nativity sets, and the big boys had a good time playing with the little boy toys! My honey received a pair of snow shoes from his parents and I got a really nice wool vest and sweater. What a great Christmas!

CHRISTMAS AFTERNOON

We spent the afternoon with my parents and family. When we got there they had already opened their gifts so they sat back and watched us enjoy opening ours. We passed out the gifts we had brought for everyone, we had shared lots of laughs, then we all lounged and watched a movie till lunch/dinner time! It was such a fun day!

Everyone liked the gifts they received this year. I think dad especially liked the down vest we gave him! My parents gave us a few games, a nice comforter set and a stocking full of trinkets. My hubby also received a pair of wool pants for his winter hunts and I got a jewelry box and clothes. Mom cooked a delicious meal for the gang later that afternoon. We had so much fun spending time celebrating the holiday with our families!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas!

On Christmas Eve we divided the night between our families. We had dinner and played games with the D. clan then watched the kids open their Christmas pajama's! It was really fun being there with the kids as they got exited for Santa to come!

With no grandkids or neices and nephews on my side of the family, things were a bit different. Mom bought all of US pajama's!

Each year after we unwrap our pajama's we have a little "fashion show" down our hallway and model our new pj's. This year mom played a little joke on me and bought me a "moo-moo!" Of course I had to pose for a few photos with my sisters before opening my REAL gift...a hoodie!

We are currently residing in my grandma house. It's been great having so much room to ourselves. I especially enjoy the fenced backyard and all the trees. It's a fun little house that needs some updating, but we are thankful to have a nice place to decorate and call "home."

Viva LAS VEGAS!!

Us , a few of our friends, my sister and bro-in-law, and a couple they know, all traveled to Vegas this December for some sight seeing and most importantly to attend the NATIONAL FINALS RODEO! The 8 of us had a blast! Our three night stay in "Sin City" was full of laughing, walking, shopping, laughing, and more laughing.

Four of us sat at one end of the arena while the rest of the gang sat on the other end. We kept in touch via text! Our seats were about 5 rows from the top, but they really weren't bad!

J. used to be a bull rider and when we saw this mechanical bull on Freemont street, we all challenged him to ride!

Since we stayed at the Stratosphere...we HAD to ride the BIG SHOT!!

Kodak Moments...

Most of our time in Vegas was spent walking around the "Cowboy Christmas" show at the Convention Center or the "Country Christmas" at The Sands. These are giant "craft fairs," so to speak, full of all sorts of Cowboy art, jewelry, clothing, boots, "pimped out" trailers, etc. It was pretty spectacular and EXPENSIVE! But we made sure we had plenty of time to see the sites of Vegas!! My favorites were the dragon at the Excalibur and the Bellagio water show!

Oh Christmas Tree!

I was so excited when my hubby told me his family cut down their own Christmas trees each year! We loaded the trucks and ventured into the woods all in search of the perfect tree! We found our tree growing out of a large stump!



Our tree was just the perfect size for us and we were pretty proud of our find!






After everyone found their tree we loaded them in the back of the trucks then had some hot chocolate and donuts before heading home. My mother-in-law takes great care of us and our tummies!

Over 300 lights later and a trip to the store for more...the tree looked great!

Visions Of Gingerbread Houses Danced In Their Heads...

Being married means sharing traditions...and I sure love traditions! After Thanksgiving dinner with my honey's family they set up a table and decorate gingerbread houses. I decorated ours! I really like this new tradition!

The Thrill of the HUNT

My hubby is quite the hunter and each fall he is a hunting guide for about 2 weeks. Hunters fly in from all over the U.S. to taste the mountain air and shoot the buck of their dreams. He guided this hunter to a GIANT elk!

Not only did he help this guy find an elk, he guided him to a good lookin' mule deer! Way to go hun!

When my darling cousin told me she wasn't going to have a wedding cake at her reception, I took matters into my own hands. I made her a rice crispy wedding cake and decorated it with all sorts of yummy candy. The cake wasn't made to be used at the reception, just as a special wedding treat! I think she liked it!

We took the cake to our "girls night out" and celebrated Sue's last night out with the girls as a single woman.

The cake made it and out of the restaurant without any of us taking a nibble. It was fun to take pictures of and look at!

Sunday is our day to spend with our families...and the dogs!

My sister and I had a hard time getting all three dogs to stay still for this picture. Cooper is the white and black dog, Aspen is the Golden Retriever and the little dog is Daisy. She seems to think she is big like the other dogs and has a great time with them. We all love watching them play and just spending time as a family!

Sadie is the beagle in these pictures and she belongs to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Sadie and Daisy are the same age and are both full of energy. They could chase each other around for hours!

When We're Helping We're Happy

A little volunteering goes a long way! My mom, sisters, myself, and a few friends from work gathered up our gloves & shovels and helped a group called "Neighborhood Nonprofit" with some handy work! We marked boards, leveled gravel, and got some great "hands on" house building experience! It was a good time for all of us and the homeowners were all very thankful for our help!
