Merry Christmas! (...a little late)

Well folks...I'm really living up to my "worst blogger ever" title. So, here are some very late Christmas picts. For some reason they are out of order...much like my life :) My New Year's resolution will be to be a better blogger. It will probably help that I will be going back to work on 1/15 and will be sitting at my computer all day...thus lots of time to blog! I have TOTALLY checked out of work and have been avoiding my computer like the plague!

We are making progress. This is the first time Landon's gotten near Santa without throwing a complete fit. Let the record stand that Landon did not sit on Santa's lap. He stood next to him. Landon makes sure he tells everyone this. Apparently Santa is squeazing the stuffing out of Bryce and doesn't want to drop him.

The family nativity...thanks to Jeff's Mom. It was quite a production with programs and all. The cast was as follows: Baby Jesus - Bryce; Joseph - Landon; Mary - Cousin Sydney; Angel - Cousin Caroline; Wise Man - Cousin Daniel.

Here we are, team Wood in full. Will we ever get a family picture where all of us are looking at the camera? This is the best one out of five...oh well. Hopefully I will lose a chin or two when I take off the last few pounds of baby weight! Good grief...dieting during the holidays is for the dogs!

Well I am officially a lame-o blogger! I think life is finally settling down for us here at the Wood house, so hopefully I'll be able to write more often. Bryce is 7 weeks old...my how time flies! AND I only have 5 weeks left before I have to go back to work (can you hear the panic in my voice ??? ). I can't believe how fast it's gone by. We've had fun lately putting up Christmas and getting ready for the holiday. Several weeks ago J and I took the boys to get Christmas pictures taken and Bryce slept the entire time. Nothing, and I mean nothing would wake him up. Oh well...so all of our pictures have Bryce with his eyes closed. Monday I took him for his 6 week pictures and fortunately he decided to wake up this time. We got some really cute shots. I'll see if I can scan and post them when we get them. Here are a few picts of the boys. Bryce is HUGE! We went to the dr. last week and he's already weighing 13lbs. Amazing! He's as tall as he is thick. Landon better watch out. No picking on this little bro.

Yes, I am still around...

...and haven't fallen off the face of the earth! Who knew having two could be so challenging! Kudos to all of you who have already been down this road. :)

Bryce is a good baby. He's finally sleeping more than two hours straight during the night...thank goodness! Mommy is NOT a good person when she's sleep deprived. He's making the transition to formula just fine...Mommy on the other hand is having a time with it, but this too shall pass.

I'll post pictures soon. Now I know why there are less pictures of second babies than first! Poor Bryce...

Baby Bryce is born

From Jeff (because Amy is currently tired and nursing Bryce)

We are excited to let you know that Bryce William came into this world early Tuesday morning (3:34 am to be exact) weighing a solid 8 lbs. and 7 oz. He measured 20.75 inches long. Amy was admitted to the hospital late Monday afternoon after her morning doctor's visit which showed her at 4cm. Because of more consistent contractions, they told her to go to the hospital and start monitoring. After some very long walks she progressed to 5cm and our room was booked ... we were staying for Bryce's eventual arrival.

She can fill you in on the details later - after a couple hours of pushing (he definitely wanted to come out on his terms) Bryce arrived with a head full of dark hair. No complications, just a long day and night. We were transferred to the post-partum room around 6:30am and finally got to sleep a little that morning.

Amy's parents brought Landon to meet his new baby brother Tuesday afternoon. Landon was so excited when he walked through the door. He immediately wanted to touch him and hug on him. It was a very sweet moment that we'll all remember.


Bryce is a healthy eater and sleeper. He really has the calm temperment like Landon did as a baby (we hope that continues). He has pretty good lungs when he's hungry and/or cold, so he lets us know about that, but he quickly calms down. We're not sure yet who he really looks like, but each hour he looks more and more like Landon did, so we'll go with that for now.

So, we'll head for home Thursday morning and start life as the Wood foursome. Should be interesting but we think we're ready. God has blessed us with two beautiful boys and we're looking forward to them growing up together. Thanks for the many prayers and warm wishes. Amy will return to normal blogging very soon -- actually her blogging will probably pick up since she's off work for a while. I've enjoyed my time here on this blog, but I shall retire at the top of my game. Thank you and good night from the Woods!!

10/29 is the day!

Just a quick update. If Bryce doesn't get here before, I'll be induced at 8am on 10/29. I am SO glad to have an "end" date! I'm still thinking positive thoughts that he might come earlier than that, but we'll just have to wait and see!!

No Baby Yet...

Just thought I'd let you know :) I really will try to get some new pictures up this weekend. It's going to be a busy one, so hopefully I'll have time. I took a much needed day off of work tomorrow to hang out with Mom. We're meeting with her decorator for the new house in the morning and then having birthday lunch. Who knows what the afternoon will entail...a nap? :) Or we might go poking around at the mall. We'll just see how big my ankles are by then!

Saturday is the Tech/A&M game, so that pretty much monopolizes at least Jeff's afternoon and then we have a BBQ at church. Sunday the ABF gals are throwing me a shower and then we're going out with the fam for birthday dinner.

Then, Bryce is free to come after that :)

34 Weeks +/-

I saw Dr. Bakos yesterday. I'm dilated 2cm!! YAHOO! At least something is happening! Now I realize I could be this way for the duration, but Dr. Bakos said she thinks we'll have a baby in a couple of weeks. J got the car seat ready to go and it's in the Tahoe. All the bags are packed, so now all we need is a baby :)

Dr.'s Visit

Yesterday was an "in the office day" for me downtown. I hadn't been there an hour when I started having some strange cramping pains. Anyway, nothing I couldn't live through, but since they were still coming and going an hour and a half later (and after some encouragement from Mom) I called my Dr. and went in to see her. I really lucked out because Wednesday is her surgery day and she's usually at the hospital and not in the office, but she just happened to be there. Heart rate is fine, my blood pressure was sky high...but more because I was upset than anything else. She checked me and said that Bryce had dropped a lot and his head is what's causing me the pain. Since I've never had a "second" baby I guess I didn't realize that you don't have much cushion down there as you did the first time around and tend to feel the baby a lot more. Anyway, since Bryce is SO squirmy, I'm sure I'll have these cramping sensations from here on out...who knows how long that will be. I was encouraged to know that he's getting ready for his big day. She said nothing else is happening right now, but I go back Monday so we'll see where we are then. I'm officially 4 1/2 weeks away!

My life...

So my neighbor from two doors down just knocked on my door telling me I must have a major water leak or break in the line in our back yard because water is flowing out from our fence across the neighbor's driveway and in to the road.

So, needless to say I ran to the back yard only to discover that.......Landon had decided to turn the hose on THIS MORNING when he was outside FULL BLAST and so we've been watering concrete for the last 5 hours.

Does this make me a bad Mom? :) Guess I'll have to keep a better eye on him. We had a long talk about why he should NEVER turn the water on without asking Mommy and Daddy first.

A couple of weeks ago, Kelly and Marcie threw me the nicest shower. I am now set with diapers and all kinds of Bryce essentials! I'm a little late on getting this picture up, but wanted to post it.

Work also surprised me with a shower this past Friday. It was really nice. I got lots of stuff...more diapers. It will be a while before I have to buy diapers which is great! They took me out to eat downtown and then we had cake when we got back to the office. Thanks everyone!

OK...now my random comment...it is 8am and Landon's still asleep. Now why doesn't that happen on the weekends?!?!

6 more weeks...or less??

I had my 34 week appt yesterday. Bryce is right on schedule....or maybe a little ahead (wishful thinking on my part). I gained more weight than I would have liked these last two weeks, but Dr. Bakos said that it's mostly due to swelling. I'm still 7-8 pounds less than I was with Landon so I feel like I'm doing REALLY well! My blood pressure is staying in check too which is good.

My next appt is in 2 weeks and then I'll go every week until Bryce comes. I made a comment to Dr. Bakos about hoping that this one follows his brother's lead and comes two weeks early...and she said "maybe so!" OK...I'm really getting my hopes up now :)

It's funny, everyone has a date that they've picked out for Bryce's birthday. Let me know your thoughts! Dad says the 20th (that's Grandpa's birthday) and Jeff's Aunt Lissa says the 19th (that's her birthday). Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend. To start off, Landon stayed with Grandpa Bill and Marmie (my parents) Wed and Thurs nights so that I could get some much needed work done that required no interruptions for one full day. Shoot, I don't even get that in the office! They brought Landon back to McKinney early Friday morning in time for school. Dad worked all day Friday on the "closet project" in the nursery. Long story short, Landon has two gigantic walk in closets in his room and the nursery has the smallest closet you've ever seen. Dad knocked out the back wall of the nursery closet that leads in to one of Landon's closets. Jeff and Dad worked all day on taking out the closet door in Landon's room and then putting sheet rock (sp??) up in it's place. They also worked on putting in some much needed shelves in the nursery closet. They made great progress and now we (I use that term lightly since I'm not involved whatsoever :) ) have just the finishing touches left.

Kelly and Marcie threw me a small shower on Saturday morning. It was great! I now have enough diapers to last this child through college :)

Friday was also our anniversary. We went out to eat and to a movie while Mom and Dad watched Landon. What a treat! You have to love free babysitting. Jeff and I also couldn't remember the last time we actually went to a movie.

Girls Weekend

Can you guess which one of us is "old pregs?" (a beloved nickname given to me by my brother-in-law). Wow, I better get this baby weight off before Misti's wedding in March! Julie, Misti, Wendy and DeShea all came to Dallas this past weekend for our annual girls weekend. We had a great time eating, shopping, eating, gabbing, and eating some more! It's always fun to see everyone and catch up on all the Harding gossip and what's been going on the past year. The most exciting is that Misti recently got engaged and is getting married on March 1. So, we only have to wait 6 months to see each other again. Can't wait!

Big Fish

OK, this is a little delayed. Last Sunday we spent the day in Athens and Landon was able to do some fishing...his favorite. Anyway, check out the fish he caught! Of course, he doesn't want anything to do with touching it or taking it off the hook. We'll have to work on that.

I've lost count...

Seriously though, I can hardly remember how many weeks I am these days. I'm ready for Baby Bryce to get here NOW! :) At least I know I'm not losing my mind...he really is all up in my ribs which is not the most comfortable position for me... I went to see the Dr. yesterday and even she commented about how high he was. Guess we'll have another long-legged baby, no surprise there! All checked out fine. I only gained one pound since my last visit so I was thrilled about that. After a weekend with the girls and eating ice cream and dessert late every night and eating out more than I have in a month...I figured I would have packed on the pounds for sure! Guess it was all that walking around shopping that helped keep it off. One bad note is that my blood pressure was up a little, but no need to worry just yet. I ended up seeing one of Dr. Bakos' partners, Dr. Martin (who delivered Landon since it was a holiday weekend and she was on call). I took the opportunity to get another opinion on inducing and whether or not this baby would make it until 40 weeks. Dr. Martin gave me lots of hope and said that usually if you deliver your first early, your second will come early too. Keep your fingers crossed! She also encouraged me to talk to Dr. Bakos' about inducing if I haven't delivered by week 39.

OK, enough baby update for now. My next appt is in about 2 weeks.

I'm excited about this weekend. I'm have my first and last :) baby shower for Mr. Bryce. A Diaper shower which will surely come in handy. M&D have Landon today and tonight and will come to McKinney tomorrow and Dad will start working on the nursery closet renovation and then Jeff will join in the fun tomorrow night and Saturday. I'm hoping they can get it knocked out. Just some brief history...Landon has two HUGE walk-in closets in his room and the nursery has the smallest closet you've ever seen. So, the plan is to knock out the wall in the nursery closet that leads directly in to one of Landon's closet so that each room has a big closet. Quite and undertaking, but I know Jeff and Dad are up for it. They are both SO handy!

Raider...Power....!!!

We had a great, but very busy Holiday weekend. Saturday was spent cleaning and trying to put finishing touches on the nursery. Sunday we went to Athens to visit with all of Jeff's family at the Hill. It was a great time and the kids had so much fun playing outside and going fishing. Monday was the Texas Tech-SMU football game. Must say, Tech gave SMU a butt whipping. :) It was great to see such a good game, even if we did have to sit in the rain half the time. As you can see, we had a big crowd. Just about all the fam went with us...minus Poppa who was suffering at home with poison ivy. Landon had a lot of fun and the weather was cool for September.

My college girlfriends are all headed to Dallas this weekend. DeShea came in last night, Wendy gets in today, and Julie and Misti get here tomorrow. Should be a fun weekend!

Friendswood and 30 weeks

OK, no pictures, sorry! I made a trip to Friendswood this weekend for Mom and Dad's going away party. I flew down Saturday morning and spent the day with them. I was able to get some much overdue sewing done for the nursery, so that was nice. M&D graciously let me sleep in on Sunday. I think it's been at least 3 years since I've slept until 9:45! :) I headed to Emily and Thomas' house after lunch to help them get ready for the party. It was a huge success and I must say Thomas and Em did a great job hosting! I flew back Monday morning...went straight to work for about 3 hours and then off to my dr.'s appt. All is well in baby land. Bryce is right on target. My feet are starting to swell a little so Dr. Bakos said to rest a lot and stay out of the heat. I'll do my best. That's about all for now. I swear I'll put pictures of the nursery up soon. We've made major progress with just a little more finishing touches to do.

Our Weekend

Our weekend started off by a major leak in the ceiling of our garage. What a nightmare! Anyway, long story short there was some issues with the flashing and shingles on that section of the garage roof. The roofer did a temporary repair on Saturday afternoon and will come again this weekend (hopefully) to fix it for good.





Landon Waligura came to spend the day with us on Saturday while Nikki was helping Marcie and Alan move. The boys had such a wonderful time playing together. It does get a little confusing having two Landons in the house though :)



This weekend was one of accidents for Landon (Wood that is). First he fell up the stairs, bit his tongue, and blood was every where. I had no idea if he had bit it in half or not because he wouldn't open up his mouth and show me. He was screaming hysterically...not sure if that was because it was hurt so bad or because there was blood gushing out of his mouth. I had to call Jeff to come home from helping Marcie and Alan to get him to take a look. After bleeding for about 20 minutes it finally stopped. He does have a nice cut, but thankfully nothing that warranted going to the emergency room.

Then...on Sunday after church he was riding his scooter in the drive way and "cracked" (Landon's word for crashed) and took off about half of his elbow. Seriously though, it is a pretty nice strawberry. And of course, he would not let me come near it with a band-aid so I had to keep reminding him not to get blood on everything....oh the life of a Mom with boys.

I was about to put this sonogram picture in a frame, but I figured I would post it first. This is from our 22 week sonogram. He looks good doesn't he? :) It's amazing how clear sonogram pictures are now...even better than when Landon was born. Anyway, we can't wait to see what he looks like in person in just a few months! It will be here before we know it.

One word....HOT!

Seems like Landon's the only one at our house wanting to brave this hot weather. I can't complain though...this has been a relatively cool summer for us and we're just now hitting the triple digits the past week or so. Anyway, I sound like a broken record around here "Shut the door!" I can't imagine what our AC bill will be like this month. Anyway, Landon played outside before lunch but I will probably keep him in this afternoon and he can help me clean! Oh...what fun!!

28 Weeks and Counting

I had an appt with my OB today. It went really well. I only gained 2 pounds in the last two weeks and am 4 pounds under where I was when I was pregnant with Landon. I'm trying my hardest not to pack it on this time around! The baby's heart rate was good as was my blood pressure - just trying to keep that near normal so I don't run the risk of having to go on bed rest again. The baby is growing about the same rate as Landon. The million dollar questions - Will Bryce be two weeks early too??? I can only hope! I have a prize for anyone who can tell me for sure!

This weekend was productive. We worked hard on the nursery. I did some painting and of course over did it...and Jeff did the rest of the painting and is working on putting up a chair rail. I'll take some picts when it's finished (at least the paining/chair rail part). Then I can start decorating! My goal is to have the nursery done by the beginning of September when all my college girlfriends come for the weekend. We do a rotation every year so it will be 4 years before they're back at mine! So, I better have most everything done around here for them to see :)

A little bit of normal...finally!

Thank goodness this week has been back to normal... We've actually been home this week! It's been great to get back on our normal routine. Of course, I'm still exhausted from by business trip to Detroit last week and trip to Houston over the weekend, but I'm slowly catching up. I guess I can expect to slow down now that I'm just about in to my third trimester - this weekend I'll be 28 weeks. (I think?!?) Landon must be worn out too and catching up because he's slept over 3 hours today for his nap which NEVER happens! Mommy thanks him for the break! Well, it's off to cleaning for me...we're having friends over for dinner tomorrow and being the type A that I am, I can't stand to have a dirty house!

Here's my silly little boy. He LOVES playing with the camera. I will only share pictures I took...since the one's he took of me were with my pjs on, no make-up and gross hair. Hmmm....good thing this is my blog and not his!

PS. No this is not his normal smile, but his "say cheese" smile. We'll have to work on that.

Here goes...

OK, so I will attempt to do this. There are lots of folks I know who blog and are VERY religious at doing so. I won't even pretend that I will be as good as keeping you all informed...but we'll see.

For those of you that I haven't talked to in a while, here's a brief update on Family 4 Wood. Right now we are just 3, but our 4th will be here sometime around the end of October beginning of November. Wishful thinking on my part...I only hope he's early like Landon. My actual due date is 11/4. After much deliberation we finally decided on a name...Bryce William.

We also recently moved in to a new house over Memorial Day weekend. I highly advise NOT moving while your pregnant :) Not because the actual move is so bad, but the unpacking and wanting everything to be just right...right now (not later) is torture! Poor Jeff, my project list is a mile long and I'm no help what-so-ever.

Other than those two minor events our life is status quo. I'm still working full time, 2 days at home, with GMAC-ResCap. Jeff is happily employed with Adams Golf (and we LOVE all the free golf perks...as does our family!).
