100-150ms Audio Lag ( Video Is Fine )
I am experiencing a large amount of audio lag when using the Steam Link. The video is actually pretty good and I'm not seeing much latency when playing games. However, the audio I would guess is about 100-150ms behind the video. I am obviously using the "Game Mode" settings on my TV and also adjusted the Audio Sync Manually to the lowest delay but still I can't seem to compensate for the huge audio delay. I've also tried on 3 different TV's and I get the same result. I have also tried with both my PC rigs (one being Windows 7 AMD graphics and the other being Windows 10 With Nvidia Graphics) to make sure this wasn't an issue on the host side.

I've also played around with the Steam In Home Streaming settings trying Fast/Ballanced/Beautiful, Hardware and Software Encoding options and the Network Prioritization on both the Steam Link and the Host machine where possible.

Furthermore, I can hear the delay not only during gameplay but in Steam Big Picture too when moving around the various selections.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Is there anything else anyone can think of that I can test to try and figure out this problem?
Is this just a bug with the Steam Link itself?

Many Thanks
David

same issue.
same here ... I have sometimes sound lags of 200-400ms, even with nearly perfect synch of the video data (games are running with no feelable visual delay)
Same issue, tried many of the same things. Video/input sync is damn near perfect, but audio is almost 1s behind for me :/ It seems to get progressively further out of sync the more you play as well.
these kind of issues are usually caused by home entertainment equipment.
Someone else recently had some audio lag issues and managed to clear them up by updating the drivers for their motherboard chipset (which would include their audio device). Your mileage may vary.
checked my drivers here ... all uptodate :/
Despite that, I'd still recommend manually searching for an update.
The audio/video was out of sync on my LG TV until I enabled "Gaming" mode on the TV.
DO NOT use the ethernet and hdmi they give you... i used mine and compared and there was a HUGE difference in audio and video. There is still a little bit of stuttering but not that much. But the stream itself is not that great... I think it is the software because i did the same. Looked for updates, manually and also checked my wireing to the tv. Hope this helps, i know it will only help if you use their wires and stuff but it is still in "beta" until the november 10 shipment comes out
I too have just updated my audio drivers and it hasn't resloved the issue for me.
I had a bit of this as well - I figured out that audio was only coming through when the game wasn't rendering lots of graphics. I was playing GTA, and the only times I heard clean audio was when I was either standing still or was in a cutscene. I set the resolution in steam link to 720p instead of 1080p, which pretty much entirely resolved the issue.

relevant specs:
GTX 970
100Mbps 5.8GHz wireless connection
No audio card, connected to a home theater system through SPDIF
Same issue here. Everything else is perfect even in the most intense games. I'll try using a shileded cat6, I guess? I was using the one that they sent. Is the HDMI cable really not any good, either? I don't know as much about that.
After many tweeks, I still have the delay issue. What I tried :
- switching the (drivers updated) sound cards from a motherboard realtek to a soundblaster.
- changing the graphic card (560 GTX to GTX 970).
- switching the streaming quality on the link
- changing the 2 cables provided by other ones.

Nothing improved the audio lag...
I'm having the same issue. I tried streaming to my Windows tablet - NO audio lag; the video and audio are in perfect (or near perfect) sync. Obviously the overall latency is greater, but it shows my PC setup is most likely not to blame, as in-home streaming to another PC works fine. This audio lag only occurs on the steam link (connected via ethernet).
Just adding that I have the same issue. Get on it Valve!
Tried many of the things mentioned here but I get crackling sound with some games that seem to be connected to touching the trackpad as well? (I touch, it crackles more while sound is playing).
