Thank you. You rock! ☺️
You're welcome!
If we can't get through the startup boot due to the controller issues. Is there a way to force this update?
plug it into a wired internet connection and plug it in
it does not need a controller to update

or use the usb update method
Tested for the xbox one s controller bug on power-off. Can confirm that the regression from 909 is fixed

Thanks slouken
Not sure where else to turn but both my steam links will not work anymore after the last few updates. Build 902 and 910.

I have one in the living room with my TV and another in the bedroom connected to a projector. The living room steam link stopped working and wouldn't load past that common spot that others have mentioned. However, the bedroom room link was fine. Until I moved it into the living room to connect it to the TV, it also stopped working and now won't work on the projector anymore.

I've tried rolling back to several previous link 800 builds, I also tried the beta branch and resetting to factory settings. I have 3 steam controllers which are all updated to the latest firmware. I've tried every streaming setting under the sun and they just won't load past that initial startup screen when trying to stream the PC into big picture mode or desktop. I have tried another PC and other controllers (ps4/5), mouse and keyboard with no luck. With the steam controllers I don't use the dongle, have always had them paired directly to the links.

I do have another unused steam link but I don't want to painstakingly go through this process anymore. Why the links won't work even on older builds is really mind boggling. What's going on? Any newer updates coming that might fix my links?

Ok, update 1: One of my steam controllers stopped connecting to my link after switching it from beta to the public build. I plugged the controller via usb into the link and now it loads properly. Yay. But I can't connect it wirelessly or with bluetooth anymore... the ps4 controller works fine though. Will continue troubleshooting.

Update 2: The controller started to pair all of the sudden after using Y - Steam button to connect and now the link in my bedroom setup is working again. Public build 909. Now to fiddle with the living room setup...

Update 3: I managed to get the link in the living room working, same issue appeared but for some reason switching the pairing mode by holding X - Steam button seemed to work this time round. Only on build 909 though. 910 doesn't seem compatible with my current setup.

I love that you guys are continually updating and supporting the steam link hardware but when these things happen it's not so fun. Good luck with the next builds!
Is it already available for download?

if the link has an internet connection it will auto update
but this is beta build
link menu -> settings -> system
if release = public -> [switch to beta]

I am sorry I just cannot find it, where is link menu?
Whenever I switch on link on my tv i only get stuck on controller choice. I cannot access any menu for link through steam.
and for sure link is connected to internet, just plugged it by cabble
plug in a usb keyboard/mouse or controller with usb cable
then you can update the link to beta or public builds

using the link menu -> bt you can pair controllers
to put the controllers in bt pairing mode
ps, hold ps+share
xb, hold )))
switch, the small button near the usb port

OOOK now I get it, thank you it worked :)
Oh wow I thought it was just my Steam Link having this issue, I didn't know this was a common thing! I reached out to support because after an update, it wouldnt recognize any of my inputs and would scroll by itself, but they told me that their hands were tied. Its working fine now though. Regardless W build!

I know this is unrelated but is there anything that can be done about audio desyncing after extended usage? Extremely noticeable after only a couple hours. Desync persists even at main menu. Only way to "fix" is hard reset

what tv?

iv noticed that on a few android tvs when using hdmi input
maybe setting the link output to 59.97 instead of 60hz might fix
I'm still having an issue with my bluetooth audio adapter.
It's a Logitech BT adapter, the issue started with the 909 update.

Sounds is breaking/glitchy even in the steam link menu. I'm using, the OG Steam link device.
I unplugged/plugged the BT adapter, No issue with my phone.

My BT headset has no issue with the steam link device even on 909.

Hope, It'll be fixed in the next update ! Still nice having updates for this useful device
