Steam Link Freezing/Failing to stream, AMD GPU. Help?
Has anyone ran into this before?

client type?
link hardware or app for android/mac/ios/tv/linux/pi
Also, if you could get ahold of the streaming_log.txt from the host PC (and if it's the hardware Steam Link, potentially the debug logs from the Link itself) and put those on Pastebin or somewhere similar, it'll make everyone's life easier in trying to diagnose what might be happening.

Assuming you're on Windows, if you go to the host PC and go to wherever you installed Steam, you should find a "logs" directory which has streaming_log.txt in it. If you go to the System page of the Steam Link and pick "Save Debug Logs" and then start a streaming session, the Link should at least *try* to send the logs which'll show up in the same "logs" directory as as steamlink_debug.txt

(If that doesn't work, it's possible to enable ssh on the Steam Link and grab the logs from /mnt/scratch/log -- in this case, I'd be particularly interested in the S99steam log from that directory, which almost *certainly* has useful information in it. But if you don't already have the Link set up for ssh and file transfer, that's more hassle than I want to put you through unless necessary.)

Steam Link Hardware - plugged into a router. We have two devices on the network, both running steam - one with an AMD GPU and one with Nvidia GPU.

So is it only the AMD GPU that's freezing? If so, I'm guessing it may be an encode issue rather than a decode one. In which case, I'd go to the one with the AMD GPU and go to Steam -> Settings -> Remote Play and disable hardware encoding just to see if that changes anything.

This worked! Thank you everyone :)
some amd dedicated gpus do not support hardware encoding, or do it very well

steam removed the option to select which gpu does the encoding
with older steam client builds you could select intel igpu to encode
or the amd igpu when using an nvidia gpu (but not amd igpu when using amd gpu)
Check to see if Low Network Latency mode is enabled. I know that causes weird hang ups for me and somehow it got enabled after an update.

I consider Hardware encoding pretty essential for actually using the Steam Link.
