Black list BT devices?
any way to black list bt devices? my steam link hardware keeps syncing with my nvidia shield remote and when there are 3 controllers connected (2 dualsense + shield remote) the input lag gets worse and the connection drops from time to time, I have to manually delete the controller from the bluetooth menu all the time, the shield remote works in a way that keeps synching with nearby devices automatically, I think the steam link is picking it up automatically or something.

It sounds like somehow the Link shell is failing to properly delete the pairing (which is a different issue I'll definitely want to look into), because I would be genuinely surprised if the Shield TV controller could force the Link to accept a pairing request.

That said, if I'm right, if you do a Bluetooth reset from that panel (forget all paired devices), I suspect it won't reconnect and you can pair just what you want there again. If it does still reconnect, I would be *very* interested to see the logs...

I tried resetting bluetooth devices and adding them again, I played a bit to see if the shield remote would add itself again but didn't happen
still, here's the streaming log https://pastebin.com/7u1GgwGq

also if its not much to ask, I created another thread but didn't get much feedback https://steamcommunity.com/app/353380/discussions/0/806846621645140908/
what device?

if its android or apple, unpair using the devices bt menu
link hardware should only connect to its paired device list
Okay, if a full reset fixed it, then somehow you had a situation where the "unpair" command wasn't going through in the Link's underlying BlueZ (the Linux Bluetooth stack that the Link uses). The unpair option in the Link's graphical shell just asks BlueZ to do things, so the unpairing the device and deleting it. If it didn't, then it would try to reconnect to the device every time it saw it.

Reset is the nuclear option; the Link shell manually shuts down BlueZ, deletes the entire directory containing device pairing information, and restarts BlueZ.

So there is a bug here, but it sounds like the bug is "sometimes, somehow, BlueZ wasn't honoring a delete request." I'll put it on the list to look at, but I'm glad that in the meantime it seems to be working for you.
reporting back again, the BT reset did not work and the nvidia remote still gets added automatically to BT devices
