Steam Link

Kodi and sourround audio passthrough
Hi,
I just installed kodi on my new steam link and i am having some problems with the audio setup.
I'd like to output 5.1 sound to my tv, which then hands it of to my av with spdif.
I want to passthrought ac3 audio, and if possible convert dts to ac3 and then send it out to my tv. Sadly i cannot find any passthrough options, is that not possible?

If this is not an option when running kodi as a native app, is it possible to run kodi on my pc while having 5.1 passthrough and acceptable video quality?

same here,
Audio passthrough section in Settings is empty =|
Not just Kodi..

I have 5.1 on my PC, have Steam LINK set to 5.1, and it's connected via HDMI to my TV..

I have Coaxil out/pass-trough from my TV to my A/V receiver, and it's only ever in Stereo on the steam link - even though PC/SteamLink and receiver are all set to 5.1 etc...

Other things work perfect via the pass-through, I can watch movies (via DNLA, on the TV) and it's in full surround as it should be...

it seems that only the steam link isn't passing 5.1 audio - i'll have to plug it directly into my receiver and try it...
The steam link can only send out pcm 5.1 signals. tvs can only send dts or ac3 through their audio passthrough via optical, thats the problem. So the steam link must be directly connected to your av reciever.
another problem is that spurround via kodi directly out hdmi also doesnt work because audio channels are messed up. Center is right for example.

yep.. my a/v reciever detects 5.1 when i try to watch video with multichannel sound, but channels are messed up.
Also, video and audio playback performance is very poor,
so its unusable for now =(
