Steam Link

Steam Link

Webbrowser on Steamlink?
I'm looking into bringing Konqueror Embedded over and will update further if I have any success. Would be interested if anyone knows a reason why it wouldn't be possible and save some time.

Sounds like it should have all it's dependancies in one executable and works with Qt.

Otherwise if anyone else wants to try their hand at it, it seems like it's viable at least as far as I've gotten.

Edit: Oof that's old. I can't even find libraries old enough. I suppose there's no reason to reinvent the wheel. Qt has a simplewebbrowser example that I was able to get "running". I'm having a hard time getting the fonts to display and it won't pull up any pages (not sure why as I don't have a font to read yet. Going to be nothing fancy, eg. no java script or video player and other unfun stuff, but kinda slick concept so far.

Seems like a good start. Fonts are working and I'm able to see the error.

"Render process exited with code 1003"

Not sure what that is yet. Might be due to having a font for the application but not for web content. I'm going to play around with font families and see if I can get it to for render with the included google font that's on the steamlink or reference some fonts online. Not sure what 1003 is precisly and documentation on the codes is fairly vague.

Might be way off and could be a bad build option that's not using a good renderer, but I've got icons and such, so I'll get there later if that's the case.

I don't know anything about Qt (usually in .Net and C#), so if anyone has any ideas on another direction I should be looking, I'll take their advice.

Edit:
LaunchProcess: failed to execvp: /usr/local/Qt-5.9.1/libexec/QtWebEngineProcess libudev: udev_has_devtmpfs: name_to_handle_at on /dev: Function not implemented [2521:2521:1224/162347.848766:ERROR:gl_context_egl.cc(117)] eglCreateContext failed with error EGL_BAD_MATCH [2521:2543:1224/162347.849493:ERROR:gpu_info_collector.cc(50)] gl::init::CreateGLContext failed [2521:2543:1224/162347.849569:ERROR:gpu_info_collector.cc(118)] Could not create context for info collection. Edit2: Sounds like I have a mismatch between surfaces. My SDL surface and what Qt wants to use. Should be something I can play around with.
Awesome, kreep on it, I need browser on my steam link for network authentification. At this point in time I am not able to connect to the network because of it. :(
i think konqueror could have too many dependency on kde library, you should try Arora maybe it is outdated but certain it is easier to run on steam link
Took a look at Arora. Seems to have some gnome dependancies. The Steamlink examples looks like one of them should be displaying a web page, but doesn't seem to work either, so I'm guessing something changed along the Steamlink update path that broke something with part of QT. Might be wrong, but I haven't had any luck with it since my last update.
arora was full Qt don't think the authors will put some gnome in it
