Seem to be having trouble with this one. It appears to not be recognizing my Steam Controller as a Steam Controller. I'm unable to setup the buttons because the controls are incompatible with what it thinks it is (Graphic shows a Nintendo Switch/Stadia type controller). I've tried plugging the dongle directly into the host PC and it works fine from there. I also have a hardware Steam Link and the controller works just fine with that as well (mouse behavior actually seems a bit better in fact). Tried re-pairing with "X+Steam Button" and it never seems to connect..

Up to now, it's been working quite, not sure what happened. Using a Raspberry Pi B3+.

Are you trying to connect the Steam Controller wired with the dongle?

What's the output of:
ls -l /dev/hidraw*; id
it still has not fixed the issue for me

What distribution are you running?

Did you install the new udev rules? This should have been a terminal pop-up once after installing the last update.

What’s the output of id?

i will let you know once i find out as right now i am trying steamlink on a fresh install of raspbian on the pi and its working fine
This broke my wired X-Input controller. Steamlink won't recognize it anymore.

Using the dongle... output of above is given below...

Xbox controllers still not working. If it helps they are 3rd party. I'm using a PDP Xbox One Afterglow and a PowerA Xbox One controller. I restarted and reinstalled. Still says No Controller Detected. Would it make a difference if it was running off of RetroPie?
Just tried to ssh into my osmc raspberry install to see if I'd get a prompt to update udev rules but didn't happen. Is there a way I can install the manually?

So it looks like the problem is that the OSMC user isn't in the input group. I wonder if this can be fixed by the OSMC team...
I'll see what I can find out on that forum, thanks. I've also forwarded the "update udev rules" comment.
On the other hand, there is an "input" group listed in /etc/groups. Is there any reason I could not just....

"sudo usermod -a -G input osmc"?

UPDATE: YUP, That fixed it, Thanks :) I'm going to go share that on the OSMC forum as well...

You have to exit emulationstation in RetroPie and manually start steamlink in terminal once. It will install the new udev rules. Then it should automatically work in future.

My new problem is that the controller in RetroPie don't work furthermore after exiting steamlink till the next reboot.
