Blackscreen when starting Streaming [Solved]
I am running Steamlink on a raspberry pi 4b 4gb ram
The installation works fine and I can open steamlink, however when I press start streamingI simply get an blackscreen. I can hear the sound and can interact (ex. Start games), however I can't see anything.
I have seen that a fix is reverting to a previous build: I tried 1.1.85. With this version I was able to see, however in this version my controller didnt work. It is seen by steamlink as connected, however when starting the streaming it doenst work.

So either I have a blackscreen or my controller doesnt work.

I have also tried the Beta version, however I still have a blackscreen there.
I was wondering of anyone know how to fix either the blackscreen or the controller issue in the 1.1.85 version or of there is another version where both things work? Maybe I am also just missing something simple

The controller I am using is a PS4 which get detected as such

Can you check to see if you have HEVC enabled in the advanced streaming settings?
It was disabled.
I just tried streaming with HEVC enabled and get the same results. I have a black screen but can still interact.
What OS are you using?
rasperian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
I had the same issue, and for the benefit of anyone else that stumbles across this, the issue seems to be related to the Pi4 and 4K output.

I confirmed that connecting the Pi4 to a 1920x1080 monitor and starting steamlink to stream worked as expected but when connected to a 4K TV, i received a black screen when attempting to stream (although audio and controllers appeared to be functioning).

I messed with various resolution streaming settings to no avail. The only way I could resolve this was to edit /boot/config.txt and around line 22, uncomment and adjust these two values:

hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=16

This forced the pi to boot at 1920x1080 and once running, steamlink was able to receive video correctly.
Thank you for your suggestion

Changing the boot config did for what ever reason not work form me. However I found out that simply changing the resolution in the "Screen Configuration" to 19920x1080 worked. I dont know why and find it weird as the boot config should overwrite this but I suppose it just this way.

One more question: Does this mean that 4K streaming is not supported?
