Steam Link 1.3.3 for iOS 16.6 iPhone can't output HDMI

I use my iPhone XS and iPhone X as gaming consoles with an official Apple lightning to HDMI connector. 1.2.0 had no issues mirroring the screen and playing the Steam Link stream on a TV over HDMI.

Now I connect and the stream instantly disconnects and goes to the Steam Link app screen when I try to connect (while HDMI is connected). No lightning to HDMI connected works fine.

If I stream it on my phone and then connect the lightning HDMI adapter, the app stream turns black and no audio or video is displayed on TV or phone.

Netflix, Disney+ and other streaming service all still work (even HDCP protected content), including downloaded content, but Steam Link's latest update does not work with HDMI.

This is very frustrating as I spent a lot of time trying different devices and solutions to stream to my living room and now a software update took it all away! ☹️

Similar case here - I am using iPad with USB-C to HDMI dongle, was working perfectly until the version update

When pressing “Start Playing” while connected to HDMI, the screen flickers once and then stayed at the Steam link main screen (the one with “Start Playing” button)

Chiming in to say I have this same problem using my iPad with Apple's official USB-C to HDMI adapter. The app worked perfectly up until this latest update a few days ago.

Now it won't stream Steam while it's plugged in to the HDMI adapter, although it will still send the command to launch the game to my computer. I just can't see or interact with the game from my iPad, as it stays on the Start Playing screen. It just says "Game in progress".

The app works as expected when I'm only using the iPad's screen and not trying to use HDMI, but if I connect my adapter while it's streaming then the screen goes black and the app crashes.

I am also encountering this issue while using Screen Mirroring on my iPad / iPhone to send video to my tv via AirPlay 2.

Steam Link 1.3.3 just flickers once after pressing “Start Playing” and is unable to stream. Used to work just fine (at full resolution, too).

Please fix this! It was incredible useful to be able to “cast” & have full controller support.
