I did manage a small work around if you disable touch controls, it works as a mouse, but don’t touch the screen or you have to restart steam link,Well annoying isn’t it. Its a shame you can’t install the previous version.

I have the exact same kind of problem: with Steam Controller + latest iOS/iPadOS/AppleTV all the controls stops working properly as soon you land on the remote host. Only A and direction works, you can't use B to quit etc...

Tried from different host, with clean install... same on AppleTV, removed all apps, reinstall and retried several times. It works fine with Xbox controllers but soon you try using the Steam Controller the key mapping is broken and the host don't detect it etc. I hope they'll spot what this is :)

Added a comment to the pinned update discussion. To hopefully get attention of the devs, Seems quite a few of us with this issue.

Exact same thing here, and it only popped up a couple weeks ago. I've been using the Apple TV Steam Link app for a year, and haven't had this issue till now...

The Steam Controllers I'm using work fine when connected directly to the PC, FYI. But then you don't get to access the streaming settings at all. :/

Ditto. Apple TV, Steam Link app and Steam Controllers. Googling has found a Reddit thread of similar issues with Samsung TVs running Steam Link so might be a wider issue.

The mapping is a mess I don’t understand what’s going on. Before I start it’s detected, but as soon as it starts it force the touch screen and somehow u can still move up down etc but not the rest of it like xyb and so on….. weird af

Xbox controller works, but Steam controller does not :-(

I was so happy to realise that I was able to connect my steam controller! The parts I expected to be an issue, namely the connection between the steam controller and Apple TV, went fine, but now the Steam app does not work with the Steam host!? Adds to the disappointment to see compatibility issues between steam software is apparently ignored..

Got the same problem here on AppleTV. Annoying since it was working for a long time with no issues.

I have a temporary workaround that works if you're playing relatively close to your PC.

Plug in the steam link dongle to your PC and connect your controller to that.

Use moonlight instead of the remote play app to stream.

As long as you're in range of the dongle the controller will work. If you try to use the steam link app the remote touch controls will override the plugged in controller.
