Thanksgiving

Well another Thanksgiving/Birthday has come and gone. I am very thankful that my birthday only falls on thanksgiving once every 6 years. OK was very helpful this year though. As I cooked he cleaned so there were very little dishes to do after everything was said and done. We had a friend over for thanksgiving this year and he brought his ferrets with him. Rory loved them until one decided to use her ear as a snack. Thankfully there wasn't much damage done to her ear no need to go to the ER, but needless to say we will be keeping her away from ferrets for a while. On Friday we went out to the mall, spent something like 8 hours there, but it was nice to get out of the house for a little bit. We didn't buy much, we got Rory a glow worm and shoes from Kohl's, an outfit from Macy's, OK got a hoodie from Aropostale, and I got a new pajama set from Lane Bryant (they had buy one get one free on the whole store). There isn't much else going on with us, OK is taking another college class, I have put mine on hold until I get back from visiting my grandparents in Florida. We will be moving AGAIN sometime around March. I am a little sad to be giving up my wonderful house, but the only reason we moved back on base was they had govs for everyone to use to go back and forth to work so it was saving us a lot in gas. Then in July they took the govs away so now we have doubled our gas bill, so now we are moving closer to where OK works to cut that down again. We should (i say should because nothing is for sure when it comes to military life) only have about a year and a half left here. Which I am very grateful for, we have met some really good friends while being here, but I am ready to move on from this base and see more of the country/world. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that their Holiday season just gets better as the days go by. I love and miss all my family and I am very grateful to have all of you in my life.

Tick or Treating

Last night OK and I decided to dress up with Rory for trick or treating. Rory was a cute little lady bug (which was kinda funny seeing as she is scared of bugs), OK was a vampire (in his words a really one not a fake shine one), and I was a German Beer Girl (with out the beer). The funniest part of the night was Rory getting scared of her daddy and then OK (not meaning to) scared this little girl so bad that she dropped her candy. After a few hours Rory was no longer scared of OK and would growl at him. I finally got Rory to  say "trick or treat" it was so cute, she still does not have Thank you down to words but she makes this strange sound that sounds like it so I am happy with that until she actually learns the words. There was this one house that scared her, there was a guy dressed as Michael Myers and they had spooky music and strobe lights, she looked at (i am guessing it was a guy) the guy with really big eyes then sat back in her stroller, I did get her to say bye but that is all she would say. We had a good time, Rory was in her stroller most of the night due to the fact she either wanted to be carried, run off, or just sit there and not move at all. They only allowed trick or treating for 3 hours on base but in my opinion that was long enough.

we went to this place called Cains (i think that's how you spell it) for lunch/dinner one day when Liz (my mom) was out visiting and Rory started feeding her. It was so cute I just had to tape it. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did :)

Our Halloween Nut

We were walking around Target today looking at all the different things that they had for halloween. OK pushed every button to see what everything did. We later found out that Rory learned some new things while at Target. Later, while walking through the bathroom section, Rory kept moving her fingers and saying "booooobooobooooo". I looked at her and asked, "what are you doing"; then she pointed to a ghost on a towel and said "that". Point of the story, you never know what your children will learn while walking through a store. Now to the sad point of this whole thing.....she likes ghosts, but she can't stand bugs. Don't ask us why? We really do not know!

School

Well I am done with my first two classes for college. I got a whopping 76.82% in my College 100 class and surprising 83% in my English 101 class. I say surprising because went I first started my classes I was sure I would do better in my College 100 class. It is not as good as I wanted to do but at least I passed.

Getting out of hand!!!!

So this whole bug issue Rory has all of a sudden developed is getting way out of hand. Last night I started to give her a bath and the tub (not sure why) had blue fuzz in it. Well needless to say Rory would not sit until I got the "bugs" out of it and even then she would not play like she normally does because the "bugs" went down the drain and she kept pointing to the drain and crying "bugs". The day before we went on a little walk to the park. On the way she would be running at top speed (which for a 2yr old is kind of fast) and then all of a sudden she would stop and almost fall over because of bugs. At one point she would not walk at all because of "bugs" that were not "bugs" at all but little tiny pebbles that she thought were "bugs". We have no clue where this bug phobia came from but I really wish it would go away or winter would hurry up and get here so the bugs go away.

Dinner

For dinner tonight OK made stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes, and french style green beans; I took a bread recipe from Lin's that is very easy, cheap, and very good. Rory is scared of bugs!!!!!!!!!!!!

So after a very good dinner we went for a walk and there are crickets EVERY where. Well while walking a few of them started jumping in front of Rory and she just stopped dead in her tracks, once we got her past them every time she saw one she would stop. At one point I had to carry her past one that was jumping in a straight line in front of her. Then we get home and put on Sponge Bob for her to watch before bed and its the one where the caterpillar changes into a butterfly. Every time the butterfly lands on someone and they show a real bug she screams and grabs onto my arm. OK then finds it really funny and grabs the remote to re-play the bug just to see her reaction. Its kind of fun.

Busy Bees

The last few days we have been busy little bees. We have done home made soup, pumpkin puree, pear and apple preserves, then canned all of them. OK and I have also done home made chocolates and marshmallows (thank you Lindsey for the marshmallow recipe). Then on top of all of that I have started extreme potty training with Rory.

 Liz (my mom) also came out to visit for 8 days and took us all to Disneyland for a few days. After we got back from Cali we went to Floyed Lamb Park, where we got to feed Peacocks and Geese (while feeding the geese Liz got goosed LOL). We got a lot of really good pictures that we will be posting in a little while.
