Another Cat
I heard a meow early Sunday afternoon and when I looked out the window there was another cat in the trap. The cat freaked out when we got near it - the first cat we trapped meowed and was okay with us so I figured it was more of a pet, but this one went crazy.I called around to three places trying to find someone to take the cat. Gumball Machines
Doug and I had Caleb, Aaron and Lydia on Friday/Saturday. I asked Kristie (work wife) if she would help me think of a craft to do with them on Friday night. She told me about a craft she saw on Pinterest. 
The supplies for these gumball machines were really easy to find. I picked the kids up on Friday after work and the kids were pretty excited when they found out they were going to be using spray paint. 
When we finished with the spray paint they couldn’t wait to fill them with candy. 
They made one for us with all the colors we used and I made the cap white, but now I don't like the boring white cap:
We have pretty colored bricks now. 
Saturday morning we ate chocolate chip pancakes and watched Cars – this is how Aaron was watching the cartoon. 
Oh, Lydia was very interested in the little balloons I had on the counter. They were little heart shaped balloons – the balloons came in a pouch and when you hit the pouch with your hand it begins to fill the balloon until it pops out of its wrapper. After a coworker smashed one too hard and it exploded we realized the balloons have baking soda and vinegar in them. We were telling the kids about how baking soda and vinegar expand and decided to show them. It was fun, but it smelled awful because I only had apple cider vinegar in the house. 
After pancakes, Cars and science experiments we headed to the park. Doug taught Aaron to swing, Lydia had a blast on the slides and Caleb tried to swing as high as Uncle Doug. It was time to head home and pack up so we could get Lydia home in time for dance class. The kids yelled out, “The last one there is a rotten egg!” Doug was walking behind holding Lydia’s hand and then scooped her up and took off running with her; he passed the boys and beat them home. It was pretty funny to watch them running.

The motorized hang gliding people were out and about over the weekend. Our “winter” weather last week was in the 70’s, so people were out enjoying the sunshine. This guy was coming in for a landing near the freeway.

Chevy Smog
I’ve been worrying about smogging the Chevy for a few months now. I was somewhat glad that I finally got the registration in the mail so I could get it over with. The one thing I never thought about caused the smog to fail…the gas cap *insert eye roll here*.
They replaced the gas cap and it passed the smog. Whew! Now I can get that off my mind for another couple years. They said it’s a healthy truck :). It has an oil leak though, so I need to fix that very soon.

A couple weekends ago we went to hang out with Ben and Breanna. Breanna made us a yummy pot roast dinner with baked cauliflower. Baked cauliflower is SO GOOD! We took our steamer and a level to help with some new house stuff – while Ben and Doug put up a mirror, Breanna and I steamed the wrinkles out of her new curtains.

Wow, I didn’t think I was THAT far behind in posting, but here we go!! Our Valentine’s days are usually pretty low key. We had dinner at home and FINALLY used the flute glasses we bought to toast at our wedding (we didn’t use them at our wedding). We’ve been together for 5 years…I guess it’s about time we use them!!

Oreo's Birthday
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It's hard to believe that Doug proposed 5 years ago, we've been together for 6, I've known him for about 7 years and I became a member of the church 8 years ago tomorrow...WHERE DOES TIME GO????
On to something sweet...Did you know it's Oreo's 100th birthday!! They have a "special edition" Oreo out - you can't see it very well in the picture, but one side of the cookie is stamped with a candle and OREO 100. I love frosting and Oreo's, but better yet it's a funfetti frosting! Oh my heck those are some sweet cookies! Doug and I can usually eat a lot of Oreo's but not this kind. We could only eat about 4-5 each (which is about half of what we can eat of the original kind).

Quick Trip for Training
I flew down to Southern California on Thursday, so I have a bunch of pictures for you to see. I was on my way to the airport and I couldn't believe how many birds were flying overhead! I couldn't even get half the birds into one picture.

I spent the day training for my new position and went to lunch with my boss and coworker. I was offered dinner after work and when I asked what restaurants were around, I jokingly said, "Let's eat at Disneyland!" I knew it was going to cost almost $100/person just to get in. I was really surprised when I found out I really could eat at Disneyland! You all probably already know this, but there's a Downtown Disney!! I WENT TO DOWNTOWN DISNEY!!!!!!!!

I couldn't resist buying a little souvenir while we were in a Disney store. I found some little, plastic Disney characters to go with my little porcelain animal collection.

I think Doug is happy I couldn't/didn't go into Disneyland because he's been wanting to take me for years. My boss was really nice and offered to move my flight to Sunday so Doug could fly out and we could spend the weekend at Disneyland, but Doug had to work on Saturday - AND it would have cost $400 for his round trip flight, $300 for the two of us to get into Disneyland for 2 days and then the hotel cost/food/etc. $1000 for the weekend was not high on my list. Some day we'll go.
The evening of fun had to end, so off to the hotel I went. They gave me a warm cookie when I checked in (I saved it to bring home to Doug), there were a couple bottles of water and an orange in the room (the orange was because I was in Orange County :) ). Here's the cute pillow on the bed:

I chose a pat down on the flight there and back because the body scanner weirds me out. It was funny to see their reaction when they asked if I've ever had a pat down at the airport and I said, "Well, it can't be any worse than the pat down at Folsom Prison." I waited for them to look at me funny before I told them that's where my mom works. It was pretty amusing!!
The gal that did my pat down on the way home was making small talk and asked why I was traveling and I told her I flew down for some training and was heading home. She said, "Well, you look like you're in shape." I said, "Thanks.".....After a minute I realized when I told her I came down for training she thought I meant exercise training. HEE HEE!!!
We had a 30 minute delay, but I was excited for the flight because I was told they have a different technique when flying out because of the noise ordinances for the neighborhoods. The pilot gets the engines revving and then the plane takes off and gains altitude very quickly. It was pretty fun! While we were taxing down the runway, planes were going right over our heads - here's one coming in for a landing:

I was so tired when I got home (I didn't sleep much in the hotel because I was worried I was going to oversleep and be late for my boss picking me up - and I can't seem to sleep on feather pillows). I just wanted to take a nap, but my mind and body didn't want me to sleep, so I just rested on the couch until Doug got home.
