Merry Christmas Missy

There has been a long standing tradition between Nick and his older sister Missy on Christmas when it comes to the means of disguising and wrapping each others Christmas gifts. 

 Now, most of you are probably thinking a few boxes and maybe some duct tape...well that may be how it started out but its escalated....

For example last year Missy hid Nicks gift in a block of Cement.

Nick was bound and determined to not be beat this year (he has been on a winning streak for the last few years so, why ruin a good thing right?!)

Well.....Pictures definitely speak better than words so, here you go....

Yes, it required a blow torch to get it open...

Wayne (Missy's husband) took on the task of finding out what was on the inside.

 Found Something...

 After setting off a few firecrackers, melting down 44 feet of Hot Glue, and going through 2800 BBs, a few hundred pop can tops, Wayne finally reached the center....something wrapped in tin foil...but what is it? 

Yup, a piece of paper picturing a laughing man that said "HA HA" on it. 

Missy's Christmas gift was wrapped up and under the tree just like all the others.  

What a mess, but a fun one, thats for sure!

We Got Lucky

Nick and I, thanks to Jason covering work for me (man, its nice to work with family!), and my Mom watching Kinley got to go out on the town to the Adobe Christmas party this year! The Location: The Grand America Hotel in SLC.  The Dress: funky Christmas sweaters, Nick and I went matching argyle.
  
They were encouraging people to be dorky in the photo booth....SO, naturally we followed the crowed and threw on a few complementary props they had and took a funny picture to remember the moment. 

ANYWAY, continuing....
The Food: Buffet The Drink: Raspberry and Cranberry spritzers  The Entertainment: A private concert by The Neon Trees The Raffle:  Playing Wii games to win raffle tickets.

 The Reward for playing ONLY 2 wii games, getting sick of waiting in lines, and deciding that sitting and talking to coworkers while drinking our spritzers was more fun......

Yeah...we might have won a limited edition red wii at the Adobe Christmas Party!  How lucky is that?! 

Adobe has been such a great company to work for.  We are very blessed that Nick has had the opportunities given to him that he has so far in his career. Hopefully there will be many more fun years to come!

Bubbles

Kinley had her first bubble bath!  Kinley's favorite time of the day regardless of what is or is not in the water is bath time.  She doesn't care if she is dressed or not she will try to go flying head first into the tub the second she hears the water running.   We have WAY too much fun splashing and playing!

She has now mastered the skill of drinking the water from the spout as the tub is filling without getting it in her nose. :)

sometimes we might be staying in a little too long. :)

Learning From Mistakes

Learning from your mistakes, apparently comes later in life...goofy girl!  You would think after getting stuck in this position already once before she would learn. :)

Also, CHRISTMAS is COMING!  I am a sucker for Christmas and  I love all these pretty little Christmas Dresses I get to dress her up in now! :)

 9am Church can be a little early for this girl.  She normally likes to sleep til 9 or 9:30.

Decorating The Tree

Well, thanksgiving is over, and that means 1 thing.....ITS CHRISTMAS!  The day after Thanksgiving (after a little nap after being up all night black friday shopping) we went and picked out our "perfect tree".  Saturday Night we got it all decorated, and now, we are just enjoying it! 

Kinley is loving all the bright Christmas lights and pretty balls (we already have a bet on how many get broken this year. : D)  So far, I have a feeling I am going to be re-wrapping a lot of Christmas gifts this year but, she is doing pretty good at leaving the tree alone though.

 We showed Kinley the ornaments and said "pretty"  apparently that means "safe to eat" in her mind.

We have an announcement to make....

Alright...We are NOT having another baby.  

BUT, we are the proud parents of a newly walking one!

Kinley took her first 2 steps tonight.  She stood up on one of her toys and Nick said, "Come here Kinley."  little did he know she would come.....taking her 2 first steps!

(We didn't get the FIRST steps on video, but these are her second ones) 

We are in trouble now. :)

We got the bug

Its BIG, its BAD, and its BACK! 

Just like every year around this time, our friend, the common cold/flu bug is here for a visit.

Nick & Kinley have both been down with it.  I guess this is another first though....Kinley's 1st fever.....just not a fun first, poor girl.  Anyone who knows anything about this little girl know that she isnt capable of holding still for more than...oh, about a quarter if a second. :)  (Lover for it!)   For the last week all she has wanted it to lay on the couch with me and watch Micky Mouse Club House.  While I am enjoying the cuddle time, I wish she felt 100% better.  

 Kinley has been chewing on Nick's badge from work a lot the past few days.  Just a cute picture.

Hope they get feeling better soon!

A Little Lovin'

2 years ago for valentines day Nick gave me a stuffed monkey from build a bear. The Monkey has a little voice box that he recorded his voice onto saying "I love you kiddo" (Kiddo: Something he used to always call me when we were dating).  Well, I am afraid I have lost the possession of that monkey to my little monkey who just cant stop giving it kisses. :)

Kinley has climbed over people, and up people, but trying to climb out of her pack and play using her bumbo....this is new....
