I was SO excited to have Christmas this year. I'm kinda sad that it's over. We had an AWESOME Christmas.
Olivia had a Christmas party with her class from church and was asked to bring a White Elephant gift to exchange. We came up with the giant pill bottle pictured above. It was a big oatmeal canister. Inside is a roll of bubble wrap. It's a prescription for stress relief tablets from Chapman Pharmacy. And I added the one picture because I love Adley's goofy face.
For some reason, I once again signed up to be in charge of Zane's class Christmas party. I decided to go with a snowman theme. To eat, we had meatballs rolled in Parmesan, String cheese (with snowmen drawn on the outside plastic), popcorn cups (also with snowmen drawn on them), small cups of Ranch with carrots and olives (looked like a melted snowman face), Water bottles (that had labels that read "melted snowman") and for dessert: cream soda floats, powdered sugar doughnut holes, and Snowman Trail Mix (pretzel sticks , Marshmallows
, Rolos, Chocolate Chips, and orange tic-tacs).The picture is of one of the games. I took an old closet door and wrapped it in wrapping paper. Then I took white balloons and filled each with candy...some also had white confetti. Then I blew them up using an air compressor. I used thumb tacks to attach the balloons to the door and drew snowmen faces on them. The kids took turns and used a straight pin to pop two balloons each. Some got the surprise of having confetti fly everywhere as they popped their balloon.
Another game was tossing marshmallows from point A to point B into a bucket. Then we had a pyramid of foam cups that had snowmen drawn on them. The kids "bowled" "snowballs" to try and knock the snowman pyramid down. We played a game of BINGO. And at one table, we had mini marshmallows: Each child was given a plastic cup and two plastic spoons. They had one minute to use the two spoons to get as many marshmallows into their cup as possible. One of Zane's friends said it was the best party ever. As a parting gift, I took foam cups, cut the bottoms off and affixed a deflated balloon that had the end cut off and a knot tied in the other end. I drew snowmen faces on each cup and made little baggies with mini marshmallows in them. The tag read "I heard that you've been naughty, so listen here's the scoop. I'm running low on coal this year, so you get snowman poop." So the kids got to take them home and shoot marshmallows to annoy their parents. The party was a lot of fun for me. I'm glad I get to be a full-time mommy so I can do stuff like that.
