Hello, Sisters!!

First of all, we want to extend a huge, warm welcome to all of the new sisters in the Arrowhead Ward!! We are so excited to meet you and get to know you better. Some of us are old friends, and some of us are meeting for the first time. But nonetheless, we are so glad to have you as sisters!!

The upcoming events to mark on your ever-so-busy calendars are as follows:

MARCH 5 & 6:  YOUTH CONFERENCE for all youth ages 14 and up. For questions regarding times, transportation, and any other information, please contact a leader of the Young Women's.

MARCH 13: 6:30 pm, WARD TEMPLE NIGHT. We encourage all who can to attend. Saturday nights tend to be busy, so you may want to arrive a few minutes early to make sure that you get into the 6:30 pm session. This is a great opportunity to be together as a ward family and partake of the blessings of the temple.

MARCH 14: WARD CONFERENCE:  Regular meeting time and place.

Other items:

• Jeff and Patti Patterson's daughter, Shirley is getting married tomorrow night, Monday March 1 at 6:30 pm.  It will take place at the Arrowhead Ward Chapel. Please stop by and have some cake! There will be dancing and merriment and lots and lots of love!

• Please contact Wendy Killian if you would like to make a visit to Koloha McMullin this week. She is home from the hospital, but would love to have sisters visit just to chat and check on her.

The Arrowhead Ward Relief Society Presidency

Arrowhead Ward Changes...

Hello, Sisters!!!

Just in case you've been living under a rock and haven't heard the latest news, the Arrowhead Ward boundaries were changed on Sunday. There are maps at the church with the new ward boundaries. If you aren't sure which ward you are in, please call me and I will let you know.

The Arrowhead Ward sacrament meeting will still begin at 9:00 am. The Bishopric has asked me to inform the members of the Arrowhead Ward that the callings that you held previous to the ward split will continue. Please plan to fulfill your responsibilities as you were before. There will be changes made in presidencies, teachers, etc., however you will be informed if you are to be released.

We will truly miss our dear sisters who are now a part of the Highland Hills ward. We know that they will always be a part of us. The good news is we will see them in the halls each week, as they will attend the 11:00 block of meetings.

Here's your weekly reminder of events that are coming up:

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9: Relief Society Swap Meet @ the church. This is like a big huge FREE rummage sale!! Please bring anything you would like to give away at 6:00 pm to set up. We will begin at 6:30 pm.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, TEMPLE SEALING SESSION, 7:00 am. We need TWO sisters to attend this session. Please let Sister Killian know if you are able to attend this session. You will need to be dressed and in the sealing room at 7:00 am.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11:  NEWLYWEDS vs. NOT-SO-NEWLYWEDS Adult Valentine's Party, 6:30 pm @ the church. Please let us know if you can bring the following:
2 dozen Brownies                    2 dozen Cookies

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13: WARD TEMPLE NIGHT, 6:30 pm session. 

• The Nevada Las Vegas Mission office is looking for bed frames, small sturdy desks and desk chairs for Elder's and Sister's apartments. If you have any of these items that you are planning to get rid of, please contact Sister Killian. We will then contact you to pick them up. 

• Sister Koloha McMullin is currently in the hospital. When she returns home, we will be having sisters visit her in her home. If you would like to participate in these visits, please respond to this email and let me know what days/times you would be available to visit her. Thanks!!  

Once again, we love each one of you and pray daily for your well-being. Thank you for your examples of strength and service!

Ward Temple Night

Just a reminder of the Arrowhead Ward Temple Night tomorrow (Saturday) night. We will attend the 6:30 pm session. Jann Jordan, a member of our ward, will also be going through for her endowments in this session.  We encourage all of you to come.

TUESDAY:  No Relief Society this week.

WEDNESDAY:  January 20, Young Men/Young Women activity, 7:00 pm @ the church. "Cyber Safety". All parents are invited to attend. 

SATURDAY:  January 23, Ward Temple Night, 6:30 pm session.

Next Week:

TUESDAY:  January 26, Sister's Temple Trip, meet @ 6:30 pm in the church parking lot to carpool. We will attend the 7:30 pm session.

Other information:

• We are continuing to collect for our Relief Society Swap Meet on February 9. Please hang on to your "give-aways", or bring them to my home for storage (992 Mackenzie Creek Ave). This will be a great way to give your things away, and maybe find some treasures yourself. Everything that isn't swapped will be delivered to Deseret Industries or a local women's shelter.

• We have a family in the ward who is looking for two twin mattresses. If you have any that you are giving away, please let me know.

• Julie Lapointe is looking for a babysitter on Mondays. If you are interested, or know someone who is, please contact me or Julia. 

• I have had some sister's ask me about donations for humanitarian aid for Haiti. The church has a website that you can visit to give donations. They accept all major debit and credit cards.  Here is the link: http://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/humanitarian-services/.  Click on Donate to LDS Humanitarian Services Emergency Response on the website to donate. This is also a great website to read about all of the help the church is providing to many different groups in need.

• We need one more ward member to help clean the church this Wednesday from 6-10 pm. If you are able to go, please let me know.

• The Temple will be closed for cleaning until January 18.

•  Don't forget to collect items you would like to swap at our First Annual Relief Society Swap Meet!  February 9 @ 6:30 at the church. If you need a place to store your things, please call me at 896-5918.

Also, don't forget to save all of your donations for our Relief society Swap Meet in February! It will be held Tuesday, February 9 at 6:30 pm. at the church. More details to come.
