Julia took her first steps  last Saturday! We are so proud of her!

Burrito

Last night we were craving a little Cafe Rio (tear).  So a friend at Travis' work told us about a burrito place he use to go to in college.  He claimed it was the best place in Texas. So we tried it....

 

And we have to agree, Free Birds is amazing! I tried to get a picture of Travis with his monster burrito but he gobbled it down too fast. Julia liked it too! It was no Cafe Rio, but it will have to do for now! 

A little taste of sweetness

I have decided people in Texas are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Everyone is so nice and friendly. Here is a little example....

While at the grocery store the other day, a little old man stopped to say hi to Julia. He was so friendly and chatted with her for a while. She couldn't get enough of him. She performed for him doing her animal noises, saying hi, waving, and clapping. After talking with me and asking all about our lives, he said he wanted to give Julia a little gift. He then took out his wallet (of course I protested) and gave her five dollars. He told me he'd had a wonderful life and wanted to share a little something with Julia. He then wished us "A lifetime of happiness together" and off he went with his shopping cart.  

I rest my case. It doesn't get any sweeter than that. Of course we came right home and put the money in Julia's piggy bank.

 

Hawaii

We made it to Texas and we are settling in just fine. We are enjoying the 70 degree weather! I could really get use to this perfect weather in January!

We had such a fun Christmas at my mom and dad's. Having Julia this Christmas made the entire Holiday Season so much more magical. She was so cute and loved opening all of her presents. She was so spoiled and got so many great gifts. She really loves her shopping cart Aunt Jen gave her. She cruises around pushing it into everything! We have so many pictures from Christmas but unfortunately they are all on my dad's computer so I will have to post them later. 

A couple days after Christmas, we went to Hawaii to ring in the new year.  We had so much fun and of course Julia traveled like a champ. This was her first time in the ocean and she LOVED it. Her first day on the beach, she refused to put her feet in the sand but she eventually got use to it. This vacation wasn't quite the same as our previous trips to Hawaii when I use to lay in the sun, read my book and drink my pina coladas all day long. Having Julia kept us busy but we had fun doing other things like going to the aquarium. We had a blast and we did NOT want to come home. Here are a few pictures of my little beach bum....

 

There is so much to blog about but I am living like a pioneer.... no TV or Internet for two more weeks (long story)! Please pray there is a cancellation and they come sooner! Until then, the Miller family will be spending a lot of quality time together.
