Mother's Day

On Mother's Day, I looked out the window and saw two ducks wandering in the backyard.  I guess they got their directions mixed up and missed the lake that is across the street.

At church, the women received this nice gift of a notebook, pen, and chocolate in a cute bag.

My children gave me these beautiful hanging baskets.

Fence Repairs

 May 1, 2026

When Brent and I arrived back in Anchorage, almost all of the snow had melted.  (There was still a three-foot pile of snow in our cul-de-sac.)  

Now that the snow was gone, we could assess the damage done to the fence that a moose had broken when it charged into our yard during the winter. 

Sunday in Utah

 Sunday, April 26, 2026 

After checking out of our Airbnb, our families went to church in Provo.  Amy and her family had to leave early to travel back to Omaha, but the rest of us went to church together.  

We arrived an hour before the sacrament meeting and found a room where we could have a Come Follow Me lesson.

Brent and I then drove to Salt Lake City to stay for the next few days with Brent's mother.  Austin, Elise, and their children stopped by to visit.

The children had fun playing the organ. 

Wedding Day - Reception

 April 25, 2026

After we finished taking pictures at the temple, some of the family went to help set up for the wedding reception. 

Photos of Jacob and Ella were hung on the walls, and the family had fun recreating those photos.  

The Fisher grandchildren had fun spending time again with the Hammett children. 

A fun table was set up with a quiz for people to see how well they know Jacob and Ella. 

The bride and groom entered the reception.

Ian, Ella's brother, did a great job as master of ceremonies. 

It was wonderful to greet so many family and friends who came to celebrate with us. 

"The Three Brothers" (Sam Springer, Jacob, and Jacob Herr) reunited.  The final three missionaries left in Georgia during COVID. 

Jacob with his "other sister", Meggie Winn Busath.  Meggie was Elise's best friend in high school.  She was often at our house and would spend the night sometimes when her parents were out of town.  For a long time, Jacob thought that Meggie was one of his sisters.  It was a great disappointment when he found out that she was just a friend.  

My five girls.  I love having another daughter.  Ella fits right in with all the girls.
