On New Year's Eve, the Pessettos joined Brent, Jacob, and me to welcome Ella to Alaska for a visit.

We look forward to having Alaska adventures with Ella for the week.

Brent, Jacob, and I joined the Pessettos at the Captain Cook Hotel to look at the gingerbread village and Christmas decorations.

We opened gifts in the morning.

In the afternoon, the Pessettos came over.  We opened more gifts and played games.

Brent and I then spent another week with his mother. 

In the afternoon, Brent and I had lunch at a Georgian restaurant.  The people who own it are from Georgia and serve authentic Georgian food.  It was fun to eat there and compare it to what we ate on our visit to Georgia. 

Brent, Ella, and I attended Jacob's BYU jazz band concert.  Before the concert, we ate dinner at the new BYU Creamery.  We happened to be there on the opening day of the new location.  It is so nice and bigger than the old one. 

We flew back to Alaska on December 5.  We had a wonderful vacation and reunion with our children and grandchildren, and a nice visit with Brent's mother. 

Saying Good-bye and Pioneer Park

We packed up, checked out of the Airbnb and said goodbye to the Burnetts and Cranes. 

The Pincocks and Pessettos joined Brent, Jacob, Ella, and me at Pioneer Park. 

There were huge rocks and cliffs to climb on.

There was a very narrow opening between two rocks that some of the family squeezed through.  

The view was amazing at the top of some of the rocks.

We walked through a botanical cactus garden before leaving the park.

Before we left St. George, we stopped at Nielsen's Frozen Custard to get a treat.  About the same time, the Pincocks arrived and joined us.  It was a fun final goodbye.

Brent, Jacob, Ella and I drove back to Provo and ate dinner together.  Brent and I then continued on to Salt Lake City to his mother's home.  

Brent and I then spent another week with his mother.  We stayed in Utah long enough to attend Jacob's jazz band concert on December 4, then flew home on December 5.  

We had a wonderful vacation and reunion with our children and grandchildren and a nice visit with Brent's mother. 

Family Fun

The family went to Zion National Park to hike and enjoy the scenery.

That evening, we swam in the pool, soaked in the hot tub, played games, and wrote notes for Olivia.

We made lots of memories.

Thanksgiving Day

The latest craze among young people is saying the words "six seven".  They seem to find every possible occasion to say it and notice every time those numbers are mentioned together.  Since I am 67 years old, they wanted to have a "Six - Seven" party.

We watched "Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving" and the children ate some of the food that Charlie Brown and his friends ate in the movie. 

The girls did a fantastic job preparing delicious food.   The men did a great job cooking the turkeys.

Everyone enjoyed the food.  Scott's father and step-mother joined us for dinner. 

The little girls loved entertaining Paul. 

Paul loved the attention.

We had a lovely day filled with family, fun, and good food.
