Year of The Emergency Rooms

This must be the year of the Emergency Rooms for our family. Every one of our kids has been taken to the emergency room this year. Emmy had to go in February when we were in Lake Lure. We had gone to the batting cages and a ball hit her knuckle, I just knew it was broken. Turns out it wasn't, but it looked really bad. Then in August we went to a baptism at the stake center in Kinston and Charles-Allen fell on the wood floors in the gym and got a really bad headache. It didn't bother him at first, but about 5 minutes after he hit his head he began crying, saying his head hurt. Then he got lethargic and threw up on himself. We had to take him to the ER in Kinston and get a cat scan. Finally, Wednesday night after our nephew's birthday party Neal squished Ally's finger in the car door and she had to get 5 stitches. It was pitiful. She's all better now, let's just hope taking the stitches out isn't as hard as putting them in.

Ode To Summer 2009

Summer has come and gone and although I'm sad to see it go, I'm left with a lot of great memories and a longing for summer to come again.

We've spent the summer kissing on babies, especially

our new little one.....

We celebrate birthdays and

our Nations birthday.

we've played ball....and with friends...

We've slept, and snuggled

We've been lazy....

and we've been sweet.

We've had fun in the sun in Orlando, Myrtle Beach, White Lake and my personal favorite Topsail Island, but most importantly we've been together.

So here's hoping that next year is as good as this year.

Guess What Time It Is?

Yep, it's time to decorate for Halloween. We do that early around here and we love it. I may have more Fall/Halloween decorations than Christmas ones. Last night while Neal was playing basketball (dang it, they didn't loose:) the kids and I listened to spooky music and fun Halloween CDs while we decorated and dusted. It really is a great way to get your kids to help you clean. I just tell them we can't put our pretty decorations up on dusty furniture. Works like a charm, and things get dusted that haven't been dusted since this time last year.

I think Ally is in love. She danced with this Pumpkin lamp post all night. When she wasn't dancing with it she was hugging and kissing on it. I'll be sure to show you some more of our decorations later.

Carolina Fever

It has begun!!! We just got back from Myrtle Beach last Friday and barely had time to unload the truck, get dressed, and eat, before we headed out to Chapel Hill for the alumni game. The alumni game marks the beginning of the Carolina football season and this year it was also when they hung the NCAA Championship banner for 2009, plus it marked 100 years of Carolina Basketball greatness. It was awesome, and as always I get a little choked up when I go back on campus. Neal and I have been several times and I went every year when I was in college, but this year we were able to take Emmy and Charles-Allen. They were more interested in eating and running around campus than anything else but it was fun just the same. Then the next day Neal and Charlesie along with Uncle Cory and Uncle Eric went to the first home Carolina football game of the season. We love those Tarheels.

She's Got Character

Emmy's school gives out awards each month to students who posess certain character traits like responsible, well-mannered, etc. Well Emmy just received the award for posessing all of the character traits! She has also received this award every year at her school. It's good to know that she's as good at school as she is at home. Way to go Emmy:)

4 months & 2 Years

Parker went to her 4 month check up 2 weeks ago. She was 15lbs and 1 ounce. She was in the 75% for weight and length. She is a total chubster. It's because she's full of sugar. Ally went to her 2 year check up 4 weeks ago. She is 22lbs even. She's in the 20% for weight and 75% for length. They are both in a size 3 diaper!!
