Cassy is in a group called Encore. They performed at Constitution Park in Roosevelt tonight. They didn't perform until it was getting dark and most of my pictures are real blurry. Here are a few of the better ones. Isn't she pretty?

Frank Dimick (Dad)

I ran across an old essay that I wrote in college the other day. The following tribute is part of an essay that I wrote in college:

Frank Dimick (I will now refer to him as Dad) has many personality traits that I find very good

to have . He is a very honest person. He will tell you exactly the way he feels about a certain situation. He doesn't "beat around the bush" instead he comes right to the point in expressing his honest opinion.

He gives an honest opinion about himself, also. He doesn't try to pretend that he is perfect. He admits his imperfections and is always trying to overcome them and follow all of the Savior's teachings.

Jesus Christ teaches that people should be dependable. Dad is a very dependable man. If he tells you that he will do something, you know that it will get done. If you tell him something that you don't especially want others to know, you can depend on the fact that he will not "blab" it to anyone. You can trust him with the information that you tell him.

He is a very trustworthy person with a versatile personality. He knows when it is time to be serious, but he also knows when it is time to be humorous and have fun. He looks at the situation and time, and decides what is best for the people around him.

Dad is very concerned about the the people around him. If you need someone to talk to, he is always there ready to try to help. He will always take the time to see you and to talk with you. Most important though, he will listen and give his advice.

Dad's advice always centers around his concern for you to follow Christ's teaching. This is very important to this man. He believes that if you follow Christ's teachings you will always know what to do in a hard situation. You will know the right decision to make and that situation won't be as difficult anymore. If you follow Christ's teachings, your life will be filled with more happiness.

Dad has a special, sincere concern for my happiness. He and his wife have taken special interest n me and have claimed me as an "adopted" daughter. They love me and are always trying to teach me all the things that I need to know and to do to obtain real happiness and peace of mind.

Dad doesn't only teach me and others the way to follow Christ's teachings by telling us, but he also lives his life as an example. There is so much love present in his family for one another. He hold Family Home Evening in his home on Monday evenings and the family participates in family prayer each night. These prayers are sincere, honest and beautiful. Dad tries to live all of the gospel principles and teachings. He is an important man who sets a good example for those in his community, as well as his family. His values are much the same as I want mine to be.

Many years have passed since that was written. I still feel that Frank is an important part of my life. Whenever I am in their (Frank & Ethel) presence, I do feel loved. Time and miles have separated us, but I still think of them as my "second" Mom & Dad.

For those who don't know, I lived in their home part of my college years. My own parents were working out of the country in Dominican Republic at the time. Frank was my Bishop and my boss at work.

I know that they are always there if I am in need. If I call, there is time taken and advice given (if asked for). There have been many times that Dad's advice has helped me progress and get through times that were difficult for me. I have great love and respect for him from our dealings together.

1. What time did you get up this morning?
It was about 6:00am. I seem to have an internal alarm system, no matter what!

2. How do you like your steak ?
I prefer hamburger, but if I have to have steak, I want it dead and no pinkness.... burn it and that will work for me. LOL :)

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

4. What is your favorite TV show?
I'm not sure I have a favorite. I have JAG, The Pretender, Lois & Clark, Touched By An Angel on DVD. I have been watching MONK, CSI, etc. episodes this summer. I guess I have even been watching America's Got Talent, too!

5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Most anywhere, as long as good friends and/or family are close by.

6. What did you have for breakfast?
Oops, nothing today.

7. What is your favorite cuisine?
Mexican

8. What foods do you dislike?
Tomatoes, spinach, raisins are the first things I could think of. Then I read answers from one of my facebook friends and I agree so I will add it! Liver, tongue, brain -- are you getting the idea yet?

9. Favorite Place to Eat?
Where ever I don't have to do the cooking :-)

10. Favorite dressing?
Probably Ranch, but it use to be Thousand Island!

11.What kind of vehicle do you drive?
Ford Taurus

12. What are your favorite clothes?
Casual

13. Where would you visit if you had the chance?

I always enjoy visiting family, especially in Boise. I just got back from a June visit, but I that is probably where I would go first. I would love to go back to Washington DC and see the sights there if I could.

14. Cup 1/2 empty or 1/2 full?
It depends on the situation, but I hope 1/2 full most of the time.

15. Where would you want to retire?
Right here in my own little house! Anyone willing to contribute to my retirement fund?! lol
Really, most anywhere if I could do it financially comfortable.

16. Favorite time of day?
I guess it would say ........... evening.

17. Where were you born?
In a hospital lol ...... Boise, Idaho

18. What is your favorite sport to watch?
Olympic iceskating

Most people are busy and probably won't, but I hope everyone will, because I love to hear about my friends!

No, not really

Again, it depends but I'd probably have to say .........morning most of the time. I usually can accomplish more in the mornings when I am working.

No, I share Gardner's cat though! BASHFUL, we love you.

25. Any new and exciting news you'd like to share?
Not much exciting in my life nor new happenings, except winning the books as listed below a couple listings.

26. What did you want to be when you were little?
A teacher - imagine that!

27. What is your best childhood memory?
I loved spending time with my cousin Ann. It didn't matter what we were doing, I just loved going to Boise to see her and Aunt Florence and Uncle Leo!

Probably .... dog.

29. Are you married?
No, but you all know that

30. Always wear your seat belt?
Yes, if I am leaving town. Shhh, not always here in Altamont.

Yes, but never involving another car.... just deer and signs! I am sure some of you reading this will remember some of the sign incidents! I hate winter driving.

32. Any pet peeves?
Yeah, but I can't think of any big ones at the moment. Dishonesty would be one. Saying you will do something and not following through would be another!

33. Favorite Pizza Toppings?
I like most pizzas- i don't care for anchovies though so maybe I am picky.

Hmmm, roses, daisies, lilies, snapdragons

35. Favorite ice cream?
Any homemade! Lately it is fresh raspberry.

I like brownie fudge ice cream, too!

36. Favorite fast food restaurant?
I enjoy going out to most because it doesn't happen all that often. We really don't have any here in Altamont!

37. How many times did you fail your driver's license test?
None, thank you.

38. From whom did you get your last email?
Some kind of advertisement. Email is getting as bad as junk mail and telemarketers at times!

39. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
How about Amazon.com? Bath & Body Works, CJ Banks, Deseret Book?

40. Do anything spontaneous lately?

Can't really think of anything.

41. Like your job?
I would not want to do anything else. They are days that I don't like what is happening with my job. It is what I always wanted to do and if I am going to work, this is where I want to be!

42. Broccoli?
Not much, but I will eat it sometimes.

43. What was your favorite vacation?
As a child, going to Boise to see Leo, Florence, and Ann was always my favorite.
As an adult, probably my trip to Washington DC because it was a once in a lifetime trip for me

Sandra Swasey while in Cedar City for Rural Schools and EMED training.

45. What are you listening to right now?
Unusual but nothing. Usually I have the tv on for noise if nothing else.

Nope, I don't even like the way it smells.

Veterans and Flags

I saw these on facebook - Kandace Thayne Northup posted them. I loved them so I asked her if I could download and use them. She said yes.

Fireworks Last Night!

Here is a sampling of the great fireworks show that Altamont ends the week long celebration with. They are quite magnificent! These took place after dark last night. These pictures were taken from the porch of the Miller home where we had a great view!

Here we are in between the parade and the fireworks!

The Parade!

Our parade began shortly after 10:00 with the raising of the flag. The local veteran's always begin our parade by carrying the flags. It is such a special sight seeing all of them!

The parade begins at the elementary school and goes down Main Street to Swasey's

Other Place. They turn around there and head back through town to end at the elementary again when everyone has gone through the first time.

Gibsons come for a quick visit

Brian brought his band to Altamont today to march in our Longhorn Days Parade! Heather and Kazzandra, Jayden, and Lucas came to my house for a quick visit before the parade. Brian and Kai, and Kadence came by Gardners before leaving town. It was good to see them and meet the new family additions in person!
