40 odd things about me . . . 

1. Do you put ketchup on hotdogs? Yes when I eat hotdogs.

2. Choice of pop? None, I don’t care for anything carbonated

3. Do you put salt on watermelon? No

4. Can you swim? Yes

5. How do you eat your steak? Well done

6. Favorite type of food? Unfortunately, probably sweets.

Other favorites that come to mind: I love Beth’s nachos and pistazo though. Chicken fried steak at a restaurant.

7. Do you believe in ghosts? No, not really

8. What do you drink in the morning? Water

9. Can you do 100 push-ups? Not even close

10. Summer, Winter, Spring, or Fall? I like something about all of them. I don’t love long, cold snowy winters, but it has been strange not having much snow at all this year.

11. Your favorite animal? When I was a kid, it was seals. I don’t know now: maybe soft, cuddly dogs.

12. Tattoos? No, I have no desire for those.

13. Do you wear contacts or glasses? Glasses – mostly now for reading since cataract surgery

14. Do you have a fear/or phobia? Mice - I hate them

Starting to worry a little about falling. Have a fear of being totally rejected and alone.

15. Do you have a nickname? I have been called some – teach, care-care, Carial, Sis

18. Rain or Snow? Rain

19. Can you change a tire? Not without much help

20. Favorite flower? I love most flowers, especially if they smell good

21. Can you drive a stick? Yes, at least I use to 

22. Ever gotten arrested? No

23. Kids? No – just lots and lots of former students I consider to be my “kids”

24. Favorite color? All shades of blue

26. Can you whistle? No

27. Where were you born? Boise, Idaho

28. Surgeries? 2:Tonsils, Gallbladder

29: There wasn’t a 29 on the list I copied

30. Shower or Bath? Both. Usually shower, but soaking in a tub can be nice

31. Last song you heard? An old fifties song: “Be My Baby” from a Valentine decoration that I have at home

32. Broken bones? No

33. How many TV’s in your home? Three

34. Worst Pain? Foot pain/tooth ache

35. Do you like to sing? Yes. I especially enjoy harmonizing. I have lost some of my abilities as I age, however.

36. Are your parents still alive? Both of my parents are gone and have been for years now. I’ve already lost one of my brothers as well. 

Of my 2nd set of parents, I lost my Mom coming up on a year ago. That Dad is thankfully still alive. It is hard to lose those that you love the most.

37. Do you like to go camping? Sometimes

38. What do you binge watch? Any good show that I discover. I love when the series is finished before I begin watching so that I don’t have to wait for episodes.

39. Pumpkin or pecan: Neither one if talking about pies. If talking flavor? Probably pecan

Love is in the Air

 

Chase Krissman

I returned from working at the funeral luncheon of a former student. As I taught, I never suspected that some students would be gone before me and it saddens me when it happens.

I remember Chase Krissman as a sweet young man in my 4th grade class. Chase had some disabilities, but never let those stop him from doing anything that he wanted to do.

Rest in peace - he is now reunited with his sweet mother.

The funeral was a beautiful tribute.

Roosevelt Vision

So thankful for Roosevelt Vision Clinic workers in Roosevelt. Last night I discovered that my prescription reading progressive glasses frame was very bent. The left arm was bent far to the left near where it connects to the glasses section. I was afraid that it was so thin that it would break when they attempted to bend it back. 

They were able to restore it. I am so grateful!

Year History

Since 2008, I have always had a book published from my yearly blog. I use it like a journal of what happened during that year. The company that I have used is no longer in service.

I changed to pixxibook this year. They are hard back books and the pictures are so much bigger and nicer. It took 3 volumes to publish 2024. They are also much expensive. Is there a service that you use to make books that you would recommend?
