Grand America Hotel

Ryan and I spent our anniversary this year at the Grand America Hotel! It was AMAZING! My brother works their as the sou pastry chef so he was able to give us a great friends and family discount! We even got to eat at the their restaurant for free! When we arrived at our room (which a bell hop showed us the way and helped us with our bags) a cake (that my brother made for us) was waiting for us to devour it, along with chocolate covered strawberries! Needless to say it was delicious!
I didn't take any pictures of the actual room but here is a similar room from their website that we stayed in. The bathroom is floor to ceiling Italian marble! (Ryan said it was the nicest bathroom he ever !@$#@ in! Don't tell anyone I said that;))

This was our view from our room! We looked toward the Wasatch mountains. Despite the inversion it was still a great view!

The next morning we decided to order breakfast in bed. We didn't have a price list, just a list of things we could order. I didn't think breakfast was going to be too expensive so I ordered an omelet and a fruit plate (which I thought was going to be small) and an English muffin. Ryan ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, a croissant, and a fruit plate. This is what we got! It was delicious, but HOLY COW! IT CAME TO $63! Next time you visit a 5 diamond hotel make sure you get a price list before you order breakfast in bed! Also see how large the serving sizes are! We could have split everything! Even the room service guys said "wow! that is a lot of food!" The orange/grapefruit juice was freshly squeezed, and I swear they used farm fresh eggs! All I can say is I am very glad we got the room at a ridiculously good rate because their would have been no way we could have afforded the room and that price for breakfast!
Anyways it was still a great experience. Now it is time to go back to lower class society!

To my Hubby:

Yesterday was our 5 year anniversary! I can't believe it has flown by so fast! I love you so much and am so incredibly happy with the decision I made those 5 years ago to become your wife! Now we have so many blessings ahead of us...including our little Maggie that will be joining our family! I can't even imagine someone else being the father to my children! You already make the most wonderful Dad! Thank you for all the fun and amazing experiences I have had with you!

Love,
Emily

Te amare para siempre!

Updated prego pic

Here is the most recent pic of my belly! I am so glad that it is starting to poke so that I don't just look heavy anymore! I'm not a big fan of this pic (I think I look like a super gomer!) but it is all I have at the moment!

Try these potato's NOW

I got this amazing potato's au gratin recipe! It is from one of my favorite web sites The Pioneer Women. It is definitely not a recipe for those watching their figures! In fact it is anything but good for you, but none the less, it is really easy to make and relatively inexpensive too! Click here for the direct link to the recipe.

Watch Americas Funniest Home Video's

Everyone needs to watch AFV this Sunday the 17th! Why do you ask? Well because Ryan and I submitted a video a while back and it will be on it! The video is of Brook (our dog) chasing Ryan with the hose which has a sprinkler head attached to it! I think it is really funny, but we aren't up for any money or anything which is a bummer, but hey it is on. More than likely it will be like a 5 seconed clip but again hey were on it!

So again watch this Sunday the 17th at I belive 6pm MST!

New year!

Besides my baby, I haven't had a whole lot of things to blog about lately! I don't know about anyone else, but the beginning of the year always seems kind of blah! I am definitely looking forward to the new year though! Ryan and I have a lot to look up to!

1. Our 5 year anniversary is coming up on the 28th of January! I can't believe it will have been 5 years! It has gone by so fast, but at the same time it seems we have been married for a lot longer! (that is not a bad thing though!)

2. My birthday is only 5 days after our anniversary! I can't believe I will be 26! It seems like yesterday I was still in High School and just barely turning 16!

3. In March/April my nephew Aiden will be turning 8 and getting baptized! And hopefully my sister and her family will be coming up for the baptism! Again, it seems like yesterday he was just born and in the hospital only weighing 1pound 1ounce! My brother and sister in-law are so incredibly blessed to have him as a healthy 8 year old boy who wasn't even supposed to make it through the first night! (my whole family is blessed to have him!)

4. I get to celebrate my first mothers day!

5. The most important date of the year! June 18th (or around that time) Our little Maggie will be born! I already wish it was June! However at the same time I think I will enjoy the freedom of no children for a little while longer! (But I still can't wait!)

6. In July, only 3 weeks after our baby Ryan's sister will be due! I am so excited for our babies to have cousins close together! I am hoping I will have enough energy and patience to drive up to Boise to see them!

That is just a few of the many things we are looking forward too! I hope everyone else will have a wonderful new year as well!

ITS A ............................!!!!

Ryan and I are just way too impatient! We didn't have an appointment until Feb. 1st to find out the gender of our baby! Ryan's co-worker suggested that we go to Fetal Photos in South Jordan. His co-worker found out at 15 weeks! So we called earlier in the week, but didn't want to say anything to anyone just in case they couldn't tell! I was a little skeptical at first and was worried that the Doctor wasn't going to be able to tell because I am only 16 weeks! I soon wiped away all my doubts when I met him! ALL this doctor performs are ultrasounds! And he has done it for about 5 years strait! He told me he was 200% sure that we are having a.........(babadaba!) GIRL!
We are sooo sooo excited! Especially since she will have a couple of cousins in the same grade as her! (we still have an ultrasound scheduled with my regular doctor for the 1st of Feb. to confirm what we have been told, but I am pretty confident!) We are so excited and so blessed at this time! It is amazing how much love we have for this little baby who is only the size of my fist right now!

To our little angel, We love you soo soo much and can't wait for you to join us in June! You are already (and have been for a long time) part of our family! Mommy and Daddy just can't wait to meet you face to face and hold you in our arms! Welcome to our family!

(We will post some pictures when we get the 2nd ultrasound in feb.)
