Page Family Vacation

Way back in the beginning of August Maggie and I went with Ryan's family up to Cascade Lake near Donelly (and McCall) Idaho. We stayed at a cabin that belonged to a family friend of the Wolters (Ryan's sisters family). It was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS up there! I think it will be our new tradition to keep going up there every year! The lake we skied on was huge and there were seriously hardly anyone on it! Almost every time we skied the water was so smooth and glassy! The trip would have been almost perfect except it was missing a couple of things! Ryan could not go with us because he has been in Oklahoma City since July training for work! I have to admit the first two days up there I just cried because I missed him so badly and I knew he would have loved it up there! Also Ryan's other sister Wendy and her husband Rob could not make it so our family vacation was just a bit incomplete without them!

Overall the trip was a success and so fun! We skied our hearts out! I seriously can not wait to go back next year!

Catch Up!

Man! I have seriously neglected this blog! I love blogging, but being a temporary single parent has sort of put our blog on the back burner. I find that by the time I accomplish everything else in the day I am literally too exhausted to sit down and blog. I would much rather let my mind just go to Jello and watch mindless television. So here is a little catch up on what we did during the summer!

The River

My family goes up to our cabin in Island Park ID every year during the summer (we call this cabin the "River"). As usual we all had a blast swimming and floating the river, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, and enjoying the nice fresh air. This year Ryan and my Dad decided to build a tire swing. I have always wanted a fun swing up there! I was so glad when they were able to put it together! Needless to say it was definitely the "hit" of the trip. All the kids (especially Maggie) fought over it because they all wanted to swing in it!  (By the way, does anyone know how to group or collage photos together without photoshop? I hate having photo after photo, I feel like it just drags on, but I also really want to share the pictures too.).

My favorite time of day up there! Seriously breathtaking!

This is dog heaven up here!

We always take a day and venture into the park (Yellowstone). We decided to take a different route than our usual Old Faithful trip. It was pretty, but I still think the other route is my favorite.

We stopped at a picnic area and there were these "pop Guts" (ground squirrels) everywhere! Maggie LOVED them! I have to admit they were pretty cute!

We spent plenty of our time snuggling in the hammock!

and enjoyed being together!

One thing you can always count on for a Fitch family vacation is good food! We ate very well on this trip!

I had to take this picture! It was right after we went 4-wheeling! I was even dirtier than it appears in the photo! "Dirty Mouth?"

My brother brought up a water balloon launcher so we could launch them into the river. After we ran out of water balloons we still had the itch to launch stuff so we resorted to eggs (raw and hard boiled)! We almost hit some people way across the river! It is now going to be our new tradition up there!

On our 2nd to last day we had a special treat and my sister and her family came up! We don't get to see them very often because they live in San Diego! Here is rare pic of all the Fitch cousins together!
