Rylan LOVES milk! He drinks it all day, every day! He loves Milk Straws and chocolate milk, but his favorite is plain, ol' white milk. And I think he is super adorable with his milk moustache!!!

Stained Glass Windows

My friend Hope told me this idea and then about 3 weeks later I saw it in the new Family Fun magazine, so it MUST be the thing to do!!! The boys had a lot of fun making the stain glass window in our den. It took a few days to complete and here's how to do it...

We looked at several photos online of stained glass windows, since the boys were not very familiar with them. Then cover window with Saran Wrap. I used some tape to help it stay put. Then cut tissue paper into long strips.
Then the kids picked a colored strip and cut it into smaller pieces.


Then we used plain Elmer's gluestick and glued the small squares onto the Saran Wrap.


And the finished product!

Race Time!

The boys LOVE race cars...especially the Cars characters. This is a typical day in our kitchen.

Who will win??? It's someone different every time!

August 22 - The Big 5!

The boys actual birthday began slowly and per their request, we had PioneerWoman's French Breakfast Puffs. They were oh so sweet, and oh so delicious!These photos were taken at the actual times of birth...9:30 am
and 9:31 am!
Then we let the boys exchange the gifts they picked out for each other. Pardon the fancy wrapping! Rylan was SO thrilled to give Jacob the perfect gift...
a glow-in-the-dark basketball hoop! I was a HUGE hit with Jacob!
Then Rylan waited as Jacob went to get the perfect gift he chose for Rylan.
He could not wait to give it to him.

Then we were off to our grandparent outing with GPop and Granna.
Jacob was picked to go on stage during the science show. He tried to bounce a ball, but it was non-bouncing rubber. It was funny and he was a great sport about it.
Then we took the Tram Tour. It was only 1000 degrees outside, but we survived1

We got to tour Mission Control - SUPER cool! Then we went in a big building to see the mock International Space Station. It was awesome! It was so neat to see the actual size and shape of the pieces orbitting as we speak. So cool!

Then it was off to Rocket Park. Some rockets from the Apollo mission were outside, but the Saturn V was in a building.





Finally back to the AC - we watched a movie about the race to space and the shuttle program. Then got to tour Starship Gallery which had all the cool artifacts. This is an Apollo capsule.

And of course, there was a visit to the gift shop. Rylan got a light saber...
and Jacob got a shuttle model and postcard.
The boys had been asking for Jason to fry shrimp for weeks, but it was too late and HEB did not have good shrimp that day, so we headed to Pappa's for shrimp!



I did not have time to bake the requested PioneerWoman Sheet Cake, so we stopped by Jula's and bought cupcakes! Chocolate for Jacob and French Vanilla (solely because of the green smiley face) for Rylan.
