Graham Cracker Sukkah

Voila... our lovely sukkah that Asher and I crafted from graham cracker and pretzels. I'm hoping next year's will be a little more elaborate with mini candy and sprinkle decorations all over. With a two year-old on the job, the candies never get that far!

Asher is such a Daddy's boy. Everything Daddy does, Asher wants to do.

He sprouted a tooth!

Last week Elie got his first tooth (at just over five months old)! I had a feeling it was going to happen soon because a few days prior he was very irritable and couldn't get enough of his teething toys.

Building the Sukkah

Moises and Asher spent yesterday afternoon building our sukkah. Asher is so excited about it... he keeps saying, "wanna go see the sukkah!" This week we are going to finish it off by decorating the inside with the decorations we've made.

Tashlikh

Last Sunday we went to a nearby pond full of geese to do tashlikh. The weather was perfect, still warm but that feeling of Fall just around the corner. Tashlikh is where you "cast off" a piece of bread (symbolizing the previous year's sins) into a body of water or stream while reciting a section from Micah.

Elie-Belie

Handsome boy! Asher is jealous of these firetruck overalls (he doesn't know they were once his).


He has started grabbing his own toes. I tried taking a pic of him grabbing them but of course I was too slow.


He can roll from his belly to his back but still working on the back to belly.

Puzzle Mania

Lately, Asher has been obsessed with puzzles. He has ten different ones that he does over and over again by himself. Here is his gigantic 24-piece firetruck that he is very proud of.

Asher won the lottery!

As I was coming home from the gym this morning I saw tractors at the lot next to ours just breaking ground. I immediately thought to myself that Asher was going to be in HEAVEN! And lo and behold as I pulling up I saw his little face peeking out of our window with a look on his face like he just won the lottery!

In our neck of the woods!

Last week my cousins, Grant and Shaun were in the midwest checking out a couple of dental schools; one of them is only 45 minutes from where we live. They stopped by for a little visit before heading back to the airport. It was so cool to see them here and chat for a bit... we hope they choose the school near us!

I can always count on Asher to come up with multiple uses for things. (I love versatility too... more excuses to buy something without the guilt!)

Sweet Potato!

So far Elie's only solid foods have been rice cereal and sweet potato. Although I'm not quite sure any of it ends up in his belly... it's more like all over his face, hands... you name it!
