Newest Player for the Sliderzz

A few weeks ago the Sliderzz played in the Super League. Right at the start of the second game Josh got beaned in the eye by a pitch. It created the biggest goose egg right over his left eye. Needless to say he was in no form to finish playing the rest of the game. They only had 9 players so if someone wasn't there to fill in quick they would have to take an automatic out, and there would be a hole in the outfield. So... guess who was called up from the sand box?! Preston! He wasn't to sure if he even wanted to play after looking at Josh's eye, but he ran like a champ to the outfield in his shorts and tennis shoes. He stayed into the game out there, to bad nothing was hit to him. He got up to hit twice and struck out both times, but I have to say he didn't seem intimidated. I think I would have been if I was him, the Sliderzz were playing 9 year olds and he is only 6 (and I might add not a real big 6 year old either! :)) The Sliderzz did lose the game, but Preston didn't care he was just excited to be apart of the team. Way to go Petey, you were awesome!

Little League

Preston's Coach Pitch/T-Ball Little League Season came to a close. Watching him play was pure joy! He loves to play especially when he hits Home Runs! He has a great swing and is really growing a passion for the game. It seems the last month whenever you see him around the house he has his mitt on with a tennis ball in it. When he asks his dad to play catch, I grin. It looks like we are going to have two baseball players in the Frei Family, and that couldn't make me happier.

Mother's Day

This is one of my favorite days of the year. My kids tryed hard not to fight, Gavin cooked and cleaned it up. I was able to rest and read cute cards from my kids and a really nice on from Gavin. I opened presents, like mini spatula's, tooth pick shakers, pictures framed in craft foam, and homemade book marks. I listened to my boys sing in church and then received hand prints that I will cherish forever.  I was able to visit with the Mom's in my life as well as Grandma's.

 Could a day get any better? I don't think so.

A Warm Day!

We haven't had many warm days this Spring. It has been really weird weather.  We have been waiting everyday since Easter to try on our new suits. Finally on the 4th of May it was warm enough to head to the water walk and Preston didn't have Kindergarten. It was a perfect afternoon. Thanks Bradi for calling! This was way better than doing the laundry.

Field Day

Field Day is always a school day we look forward to at our house. Both boys did great! I don't know where they got their hops from, but both won 1st place in the Broad Jump! Way to go boys. 

Sliderzz at the Jazz Game

These are a lucky bunch of boys! The Sliderzz and their dads were able to go to the Jazz playoff game on April 23rd. How fun would it be to hang out with your some of your friends at a Jazz Game? I have to say I was a little jealous. Maybe next time the moms will have to take them! :)  The next morning they got up and played a couple of scrimmage games in SLC and then headed home. Sounds like a fun weekend to me!

I have to say I had fun too. I went to Natalie's and we ordered take out and made bows. We decided the next craft night will have to be minus the extra 6 kids we were entertaining in between the glueing. We still had a great night, just didn't get many bows made!

Did you notice Landon's eye? He got pegged with a ball at practice a couple of days earlier. He kind of looked like an Avatar there for a little while. Didn't seemed to bother him, I think he kind of liked the attention.

It Is Official..

It is Official... I am OLD. 

On April 22 I turned 30. 

Ever since then things have been falling apart. Let me just name a few: 

1. I have age spots on my hands. 

2. With this pregnancy I have gained A LOT more weight and I am only 5 months along. 

3. I have gray hair, there are wrinkles around my eyes and the list goes on... 

But, with turning 30 came some good things too.

I better start from the beginning.

 Gavin sent me flowers that morning, I love flowers so that was fun! Then I called him to go to lunch with me, but he had a lot to do for work, so I ate lunch by myself at home. (I kind of had a pity party about it.) Then at 5:00 we went to dinner just the two of us. Preston had a baseball game at 7:00, Mom came over to watch the kids and we headed to Texas Roadhouse. It was raining and Preston's game ended up being canceled. Gavin had told me that we were going to just have our parents come over and have cake after the game, because it would be to late for a real party. After the game was canceled Gavin said,  "Dang we should have called all the family now that there isn't going to be a game."

But he never called anyone. (I again kind of had a pity party, in my mind.) After dinner he said, "Hey lets go shopping since we don't have to hurry home."
Sweet! I thought. Then he drove to Walmart and we bought a mat for the car. Nice. After that we stopped at Big 5 and Rebel Sports and bought GAVIN some new shoes. (Okay my idea of shopping was a lot different. I wanted some new clothes, maybe?! Nope, Gavin got shoes.)

As we were driving home he told me he got a text from his dad that said he had left my present at his house and wanted to know if we would stop and get it. As we pulled up to the house, Gavin motioned for me to get out and go get it. I LOST it!

 I said "Let me think about this day for just a second. First I ate lunch alone, then we went shopping and bought YOU new shoes and a floor mat.  Your mom completely forgot my birthday for the second year in a row and now you want ME to get out and go GET my OWN present!"
I then jumped out of the car, slammed the door and ran up to Dennis front door. I flung it open only to hear,

"SURPRISE!"

All of our family was there with a big sign to wish me Happy Birthday! Oh man did I feel dumb! I had a big pity party for no reason. 

All in all it turned out to be a fun day. The surprise was great and I was happy to  spend my birthday with my family and friends. They are really all that matter anyway. 

One Big Pig!

Preston has an amazing teacher. She really goes the extra mile in everything she does. Last year Landon was able to go see her pig, and she made sure that this year Preston was able to come too. The only difference was that this year's pig was feisty! Right when Preston got in the corral with it, it ran right after him wanting to play. Pres wasn't to sure about that, so we never really got a great picture. I can't say I blame him, that pig weights a lot more than my 30 pounder. :) He liked Cam and Kenzie's sheep better, maybe because there was no charging involved!

Lets Go Fly a Kite

Preston received a free kite at the Kite Festival for reading. We went to fly it only to find out our kite skills are not that hot, but we had fun anyway!

Addie's Birthday

All Addie wanted for her birthday was cake. That made things really easy. I love little people parties! It was a fun day filled with family and especially cake! We all love this little girl and don't know what we would do with her. She is growing right before our eyes. She talks a mile a minute, and carries a purse with her most of the time. Happy Birthday Sweetie! We love you.

Kindergarten Field Trip

I was lucky enough to get to go on Preston's Field Trip to the Airport and Fire Station. Preston was able to ride on the baggage cart, and even shoot the fire hose.  It was fun to be apart of such an exciting day! He has such a cute class and a great teacher, I am getting a little bit sad that Kindergarten is going to be over for him in just a couple of weeks. He told me the other day that he loves Kindergarten, but he is scared for 1st grade. I asked him "Why are you scared?" He said "Because he heard (probably from his brother, thank you Landon.) that is it is REALLY HARD." I told him "not to worry."  I know he will be fine in 1st grade it is me and Addie that are going to have the hard time. We are going to miss that little man all day.

Falling Fast

Landon participated in the Science Fair this year. His experiment was to see if a golf ball and a baseball would fall at different or the same speeds. He thought they would fall different because the sizes were different. Well, he as wrong... they fall at the exact same speed. It was fun to learn a little about science with him. He really likes to know how/why things work, his brain is very mechanical I guess you could say. He didn't win any ribbons or get to advance to region, but he did sit in the lunch room all day with these cute girls! I bet that was fun! :)

Spring In the Desert

The Sliderzz played in a baseball tournament in Las Vegas over Easter weekend. It was held at the Big League Dreams baseball complex. Wow, is all I can say about the fields, they were crazy cool. The fields are replica's of famous baseball parks. We played on Fenway, so fun! The other really cool part was it had a clubhouse, was landscaped with playground, grass and cement. I couldn't believe we had been at baseball games all day when we left because everyone was so clean! Landon included, the fields were turf, so I didn't even have to the red out of his baseball pants. It was great! The Sliderzz played awesome the first 2 days and came back on Saturday as the #1 seed. Unfortunately we lost our first game, but all in all it was a great weekend. Can't wait to go back!

Easter

Easter this year crept up on me. Before I could even think about it we were almost out of days to color eggs. Luckily we found a day to get together and make really pretty eggs. Dennis (Gavin's dad) always does all the work by digging the red roots and getting the onion shells. I am thankful we still keeps this Swiss tradition alive. 

Easter Morning was fun. Landon woke us up at 8:28 am and reminded us we were almost late for the Annual Egg Bust, then he informed me that the Easter bunny forgot to come to our house!! I about panicked! I told him that there was no way he forgot us.  I bet he just hid the baskets. Then I pushed he and Preston out the door with their dad and said we would have to find them when they got back. Auugh! Luckily the Easter Bunny did hide those darn baskets in the front room and they found them when they got home. (Just a note, for all who are judging that crazy rabbit right now, we were in Las Vegas all weekend (those pics are coming next) and didn't get home until Saturday evening, I am sure that really confused the funny bunny. Lets cut him or her ;o) a little slack! :))

Having General Conference on Easter was really great. We were able to have a yummy breakfast of Strawberries and Waffles, watch Conference in our PJ's and just enjoy each other. I did end up get really sick that afternoon, and threw up on the way to Ken and Katie's house for their Easter Dinner Party. After I did that, I felt much better. Oh, the joys of being Pregnant! ;o) Can you believe it #4 is on the way! I can't.  Well that about wraps up Easter. Sometime soon I will have this darn blog caught up. It just seem like I like sleeping a lot more lately than updating this blog, go figure.
