Up on the Housetop...

Date: November 23rd

Usually we wait until after Thanksgiving

to put up any Christmas decor

including outdoor lights.

But this year I knew we would be busy with

family in town and figured I would just knock this off the list early!

Which meant Ryan wasn't too thrilled to be given another job on his list.

But he was even more thrilled 

when I assigned Anden and Taylee to be his helpers! :)

It was actually chilly that night so we busted out the winter clothes

to help (or watch) Ryan put up the lights!

The kids were ecstatic when I told them they really could

go up on the housetop this year!

And the finished product!

Ahhh the OCD in me can't help but smile

when I see all of those little lights perfectly lined up! :)

Thanksgiving Decor

This year I decided to update my Thanksgiving decor.

But I didn't want to spend a ton of money.

I wanted a "glam" Thanksgiving

of Golds and Creams.

Let's just say I might have gone a little crazy with the spray paint!

But hey at least now I have all "new" fancy decor!

The oranges, reds and yellows of Thanksgiving past

became this...

 

Thanksgiving is a Fancy Feast after all!

Soccer Game #7

Date: November 22nd

We only had one sporting event this time!

Much easier to juggle.

Anden and Laiklyn cheering on Taylee!

Taylee scored 2 goals!

Now we get a week off for Thanksgiving

then one more game left for this season!

Thanksgiving Program

Date: November 20th

The First Graders had their

Thanksgiving Program

at school today!

So Laiklyn and I joined in the fun!

Taylee's in the 2nd row

and the most bored looking kid there! lol

My little Candy Corn side kick!

They kids sang lots of songs, used instruments and recited poems.

They did a great job!

Then we stayed for lunch with Taylee

and also stuck around for Anden's lunch too!

Soccer Game #6 and Baseball

Date: November 15th

It was another morning of dueling events.

Anden on the baseball fields

while Taylee's on the soccer fields.

So Laiklyn and I burned the path between the two again.

Taylee scored FIVE goals this time! lol

They pounced all over the poor other team with a final 10-0 score!

It was a chilly morning by Phoenix standards

so Laiklyn got to wear her "winter" clothes!

Back to the Baseball Fields

where Anden was 4-5 at bat!

High Heel Wars

Date: November 18th

So what do your kids do before school?

Mine are pretty .. um.. creative!

I came around the corner today 

to find the kids having 

High Heel Races.

Apparently they had raided my closet while I was making breakfast

and carefully selected their vehicle of choice.

Then it was off to the races.

I couldn't stop laughing.

They are SO competitive at everything they do.

Including running in high heels!

They each had won 2 races.

So it was tie breaker time.

 

Halfway through the final race,

Anden's high heel inexperience was his Achilles's heel (literally).

He had selected a very thin very high heel

while Taylee had known to select a wider shorter heel.

Anden's heel couldn't withstand the awkward wobbling motion

and ended up buckling underneath him.

Anden crumbled to the ground and could only watch in agony

as Taylee hobbled across the finish line in front of him

securing the coveted medal from his grasps.

Taylee wins 3-2.

Anden was still bitter about his masculine loss

as we headed to school 30 minutes later.

I reminded him that we can't win them all. lol

Fine Print:

No humans, animals or high heels were permanently damaged during these Olympic Trials

Soccer Game #5

Date: November 14th

For some reason we had one night game this season.

Of course it ended up being at the same time as the Frozen event.

But luckily we were able to fit both in.

And I was definitely still Frozen at the game too!

Yes it dipped below 70 degrees lol

Taylee's team did great and won!

She scored 2 goals.

We had team snacks that night.

Taylee loves handing them out to her team.

It's just another celebrity moment in their soccer world! :)
