February Sibdin

I haven't posted anything for a long time, and since I'm drawing a blank as to what to post I'll just put up pictures from February's Sibdin at the Hansen's house. Oh, and Spencer was very excited for a treat on the way home. Which picture do you like best?

Valentine's Day

Someone spread rose petals down our hallway on Valentine's Day. Of course, me being the obnoxious person I am, I had to teach people how to pop the petals. Do you remember me teaching you that? I believe we did it at either the Hansen's Utah reception or the Blake's Utah reception. We were bored and the flower petals on the tables provided great entertainment. I digress... Here's a picture of the hallway and a picture of my hand after I popped a bunch of petals. I guess these petals were moist enough that every time I hit one on my hand, bits of color would spray onto my hand. Can you see it? It kind of looks like my hand is a little bruised.

We also received valentines from some random guys one night during visiting hours. I think their ward was having a contest all that week, and whichever FHE group did the most "love" things on the list won something. So, they came down our hallway and gave everyone home a corny valentine. Here's the one I managed to get. haha

I liked it so much, I put it on my door. :) Many people have commented on its greatness.

Woah

So I was looking at playlist.com for some new music to add to this very blog, and I saw something very interesting on the left side of my screen. It was an ad for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I didn't realize the church did internet advertising. At least it was a clean advertisement, but I've always been one to never click on the "Click here for a free ____" ads. I wonder if anybody will be interested in clicking for a free Book of Mormon, or if they'll just ignore that ad like I ignore all the other ads with claims for free things.

Two things

Thing #1: On Monday I came back from a stressful class and found a beautiful flower on my bed. Have I mentioned that my visiting teachers are amazing? They knew about Dad, and just wanted to let me know I was in their prayers.

Thing #2: I have been wanting to get my hair cut for a long time now, but I never got around to it. Since Rebecca was in St. George for the weekend, I had the car all to myself and I decided to make use of it. So, yesterday I got my hair cut. I really like it, and I've gotten many comments from others about it. Sometimes it's nice to just do something new for yourself.

Connection between the two things: Yeah it was random of me to include these two stories together, but the pictures I have are of my new haircut. Since the flower just happened to be in the background of my first attempts, I just decided to pick it up and make it part of my post. The first picture is from a date I went on Friday night, and I just included it so you could kinda see how long my hair was.

Pillsbury Doughboy

Do you all know that I have an obsession with the Pillsbury Doughboy? 'Cause I do. I just thought I'd share some fun pictures of the little guy.

Though I don't wish this to happen, I thought the following obituary for him was funny.

Dear Friends:

It is with the saddest heart that I have to pass on the following.

Please join me in remembering a great icon.

Veteran Pillsbury spokesperson, The Pillsbury Doughboy, died yesterday of a severe yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a slightly greased coffin.

Dozens of celebrities turned out, including Mrs. Butterworth, the California Raisins, Hungry Jack, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, Captain Crunch, and many others.

The graveside was piled high with flours as longtime friend, Aunt Jemima, delivered the eulogy, describing Doughboy as a man who "never knew how much he was kneaded."

Doughboy rose quickly in show business but his later life was filled with many turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he even still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions. Toward the end it was thought he'd rise once again, but he was no tart.

Doughboy is survived by his second wife, Play Dough.

They have two children and one in the oven.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

I'm also considering buying a shirt with the Pillsbury Doughboy on it. What do you think? Should I do it?
