Went for lit seminar yesterday. Haha it was pretty enjoyable. Especially watching the guys from guy institutions act as girls in their parodies. Hahaha that's right they cross dressed and I swear one was in a pink Roxy skirt. But I admire their -ahem- courage, really, to do that in front of a large audience comprising girls (and boys) their age, thereby compromising their chances of getting a girlfriend.

Just finished watching Devil Beside You yesterday night. It is one of the nicest shows I've watched. 10 good reasons why:
1) There is just enough sweetness to make hearts melt
2) The male lead is eye candy and highly capable of melting hearts *screams and faints upon sight of Mike He*
3) Unique characters. Mike He's character, especially, is really unique and cool. A bad boy on the surface, is a bad boy actually, but is, at the same time gentle and romantic. Ah that sounds super gross but really, watch it and you will understand.
4) Unique storyline that is pretty believable and even got me crying at the end.
5) It managed to convince me that dating guys younger than you does not mean that you are dating someone less mature.
6)It gives me THAT feeling. You know, that fuzzy feeling that makes you smile dumbly to yourself. [trust me, I went to sleep smiling]
7) It's got a good balance of romance, drama, tragedy and comedy
8) I shall refrain from saying this due to the fact that this blog is supposed to be PG [but the kissing... shhhh]
9) Did I say that it makes hearts melt? Well it does.
10) Uhh. Cos youtube rocks.

Yes. And on to more more important matters. After a long session of emoing and evaluating, jiaying, huiyi and I decidedto define clique. A clique is a group of friends who are always together, and are obligated to stick with each other. According to dictionary.com, a clique is
1)a small, exclusive group of people; coterie; set.
2)a group of people who are friendly with each other but exclude others Example: the golf-club clique
3)to make noise, resound
I am more inclined to agree with definiton no. 2. Anyway, we decided that we were not actually a clique because we are not really close to all the people in our clique so it was kind of forced. In addition, quite a few of us drift away now and then, so that does not fulfill the obligation to stick together. Also, being in a clique gives one pressure. Don't get me wrong we don't feel pressurised being with our clique or anything but rather pressure when you're hanging out with others. Cliques also have a negative connotation. Well, i argued that we don't have to be like this, and we can make our own definition of us. Well after an exasperating period of mixing and matching words, we decided on Frique. That's right.

Frique
A group of close friends who are not a clique.

WE ARE THE FRIQUES. how cool is that man. we freak, we frique. that's right we gonna storm ths dictionaries with our new word. I'm a frique. We are friques.

hmm.
got back my geography results. I'm kinda disappointed cos i spent the most time studying geog. And I didnt exactly score for geog. So what am I supposed to expect for the other papers? Dreading it. I mean the getting back of papers. Argh. I know its after exams. I know people are supposed to relax after exams. So WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH ME. agggg. In an attempt to allow my frazzled nerves to straighten out and not like, cause my overheated body to burst into flames, I have begun watching shows on youtube. yes. currently watching 公主小妹 and it's really nice. Starring wuzun and angela chang. Too lazy to tell the entire story so shall let you ponder and get inspired to watch it. I mean, hello I recommended it so it should be nice right? my apologies. Ego's ballooning rapidly.
OFF TO WATCH MY SHOW. its loading really slowly mann. i so hate youtube when its at night.

I've just read The Pact. It has to be one of the most beautiful books I've read. This book made me cry. The book is about two families, the Hartes and the Golds who live next door to each other. Christopher Harte and Emily Gold grew up together, and their parents were close friends. They were just like a big, extended family. Nobody is surprised when Chris and Em start dating when they grow older. However, a call comes in the middle of the night from the hospital, bring horrific news that Emily is dead, from a gunshot wound and Chris who was with her is injured. It was, according to Chris, part of a suicide pact. A local detective doubts him, and Chris then becomes suspect for killing Emily.
I can't even begin to tell you how deep the love is between Chris and Em. It does raise a few questions. Is there such a thing as being too close to a non-blood relative? There are a few lines in the book which struck me.
wanting is not the same as loving
hold the truth in your hands, and see it for the gift it is

and many many other beautiful phrases. Now I know why so many people have been telling me that it's a great book. Those who haven't read it, READ IT.

Here is a page from the book that kind of tells us the whole story. Big spoiler if you're planning to read, so skip it. I'm just writing it down cos i'll have to return the book soon and I want to be able to look back at it. I repeat, skip if you're going to read it.

[ 'There was once a boy and a girl. They grew up together. They loved each other like a brother and a sister. They spent every moment together, and when they got older they became lovers. Their feelings and their hearts became so intertwined that they could no longer distinguish their individual needs.
'Then, for a reason we may never know, one of these young people began to hurt. She hurt so badly that she didn't want to live. And she turned to the only person she trusted.' Jordan walked towards Chris, stopping inches from his client. 'He tried to help. He tried to stop her. But at the same time, he could feel her pain as if it were his own. And in the end, he couldn't stop her. He even went so far as to walk away.'
Jordan looked at the jury. "The problem was, Emily couldn't kill herself. She begged him, she pleaded, she cried, she put her hand over his on the gun. She was such a part of him and he was such a part of her, that she couldn't even complete this final act by herself. Now, here's the question you face, as a jury: Did Chris do it by himself?]

'maybe it didn't really matter one way or the other'

Hmm. Strange how exams make you forget stuff. Like how i actually forgot that tomorrow- hang on its 12 already. fine. today is my birthday and i just got a birthday sms. Oh well. It doesn't feel anything like what a birthday should feel like. How should a birthday feel like anyway? Special? hmm. Not expecting a lot from or for my birthday this year. People will be too caught up with exams to notice at all. I mean hello. Even I just remembered. I mean. I've been reminded a few times like 'hey your birthday's tomorrow' but I just went 'oh yeah it is' and promptly forgot. It seems too surreal. Its like I'm too occupied to even think about my fourteenth birthday. Oh well, its Lit tomorrow and I'm counting on tomorrow's paper to pull my lit grade up. They say birthday girls are lucky.
My fingers are crossed.
