I Know.... its been forever!!

Ok, so I know that its been over a month since I have updated my blog, deepest apologies. But here the deal, Jacob is FINALLY home for good from Vernal and I now have a life and things to do after work besides go to the library and be a loser. We also ordered a computer the day after Thanksgiving and we just got it yesterday (24th) so now is the day that I become the great blogger again. I have so much to blog about, seems like quite a bit has actually happened in the past month, but maybe i'll just do a brief overview and try to interject a few pics here and there. The first bigger thing is probably Thanksgiving. We celebrated this year with Jacob's family and had a declicious meal at his mom's house followed by a few intense games of Settlers of Catan. If you havent played this, you should really look into it. Its totally fun, kind of like Risk, but much more fun! My family is hooked and now so is Jacob's.

We ended up staying up till like 1 AM playing WII and finally decided to go to bed to just wake up 1 1/2 hrs. later to hit the early morning shopping! Me, Jacob and his sister Alisha trecked down to Orem and arrived at Target for the early morning shopping at 3:30 AM!! We were probably like 30th in line and froze our butts off! I usually go with all my fam in South Jordan, but since I had to work at the bank this year at 8:30, we just went to Target and got the things we really wanted.

Jacob wasnt to happy about the 3 hour freeze, but once we made a clean sweep in Target and got all the things we wanted for an unbelievable price, he agreed that it was totally worth it! We walked away with a GPS, guitar hero with 2 guitars for the WII, Ihome, several $3 DVD's and a portable DVD player.... Merry early Christmas to us! We had so many leftover gift cards from our wedding it just worked out perfect!

In December we set out to take pictures to put on our Christmas card and this is what we ran into....

If any of you know my husband, we ended up taking more pictures of the deer then we did for our Christmas Card. It was crazy though, cuz we were just up in Heber and there was like a flock of 30 deer. It was fun to see Bucks up close finally and take some fun pics. We did get a pic for our Christmas card and this is what we chose.... :)


We also attended the anual BINGO Newbold family Christmas party and it was Jacob's first time! We headed down to South Jordan in the dreaded snow, but had a great time. Since Jacob has never been before he didnt know we make the new person in the family sit on Santa's lap.... and this year was his turn! Let me tell you, he was so embarrased, and maybe even a little mad at me! lol jk! I have never seen him that shade of red! Here is the best pic I could get...


We then played BINGO and kicked some serious butt. We actually both didnt do so well this year, but it was still alot of fun! Jacob thought it was a little weird we played BINGO at a family christmas party, but now that he knows how fun it is.... its just totally normal. haha! Well, this post is long enough... I shall blog about Christmas tomorrow! Night!

LUNCH!

So yesterday (Tuesday) I had the day off so I headed down to SLC to run some errands, tend the nephews and have lunch with my friends! Me, Erin and Rachael got together and went to lunch at Rumbi grill and it was so much fun to catch up! I hadnt seen Rachael in years in seems like, besides at my wedding, so we decided to all get together and have lunch! I'm ticked I forgot to take a picture, but oh well I guess! Its fun now that we are all married to get together. Although Rachael and Erin are a bit ahead of me on the kid thing, its still fun to hear all their funny stories and all their advice for having children! Its crazy having all 3 of us back together again, felt like High School there for a minute! I like it though, we have all grown up quite a bit but we can still hang out and laugh and have a good time just like we were 16 again! I hope we can make this a regular thing! Thanks girls!

Addiction to the WII

As I have mentioned before, we bought a WII from Kirk and Missy and it has been so fun! As you can see, Jacob adores it! I bought him the New 2009 Cabellas Big Game Hunter game and he is obsessed with it! Seriously, every second that i'm doing something else Jacob is plopped here on the love sac killing all sorts of animals! It so cute because he gets so into it, he loves it! While I cook dinner this is where you will find Jacob! It even takes some serious prodding to get him to come eat the dinner..... who would have ever though, Jacob the gamer! haha Just kidding babe! He really isnt addicted but does love to play it, I'm glad that we bought it. I'll have to try and get some other pictures when we play different games beacuse it gets pretty intense. Sadly, its quite the workout. After kicking Jacob's butt in baseball my arm was sore the next day! Guess I cant complain!

Back From Antimony....

So we are back from Antimony and sadly we didnt kill anything! We saw a ton of deer but no elk! dang! The trip was so short and the hunting got cut a little short too because it poured on Sunday so we ended up coming home early! It was a super short trip anyways becuase we didnt end up leaving till late Friday night and then came home early Sunday morning cuz of the rain! But Saturday was super fun! Just Jacob and I packed up the gear on the 4 wheeler and headed out for the day! As you can see in the picture below I am ready to go! No, I havent gained 40 lbs.... I just have on like 3 sweaters and my "hunting" coat beacuse it was so flippin cold! We went pretty much all day long and went everywhere up in the mountains possible! It was fun to spend time together doing something Jacob loves so much! I was just the "lookout" girl and I would say I did a pretty dang good job! We only almost got stuck one time, but other then that it was smooth sailin! For some reason, I didnt take many pictures this weekend, this is the only one that I have, so sorry! I guess I wasnt in the picture taking mood! But all in all... Antimony was fun! It was good to see my father-in-law and Alisha! We love Antimony!

My Sweet Husband!

So as I have mentioned several times, my husband works in stupid Vernal all week long so I never get to see him! Some days arent too bad and I just try to do alot when I get home after work to pass the time until I get to see him on Friday, but last Thursday was horrible! I had an awful day at work and I just wanted so badly to come home and tell Jacob about my terrible day and just be with him, but of course he was in Vernal. The worst part about Vernal, besides never seeing him, is that they all stay in a trailer on the work site, so Jacob is always with his work friends so its hard to even sit and have a normal conversation over the phone because its just kinda awkward and they are always trying to talk to him while I am! So I called to talk to him and he couldn't so I just broke down! Pathetic I know, but I totally bawled for a good hour or so because I missed him so much! I finally got to talk to him the next morning for a little bit and told him about my horrible day and how sad I was and how much I missed him and then this is what I came home to after work on Friday!

He is so thoughful and knows how much I LOVE flowers... so he got me some for my terrible day on Thursday! He is such a sweet husband and is always doing cute little surprises like this! Thanks babe.... I love you!

P.S. For anyone who cares, lol, Jacob is officially done with Vernal tomorrow! He is finally coming home and working in Salt Lake and we can now have a normal married life! I cant wait... I have been counting down to this day for some time now! yay for me! :)

Antimony Again....

So we are off to Antimony again tomorrow to do some more hunting, so exciting I know! Its the muzzle-loader Spike Elk hunt and Jacob has a tag so we are off to Antimony to hopefully shoot something! He isn't going with this friends as planned, so I think that I'll go with him and hopefully we will get something! He has promised me that we wont hike far and that it wont be freezing cold, so i'm crossing my fingers that he isn't lying! :) We are leaving tomorrow after I get off work at 6 and then coming home Sunday night! I hope to have some pics to post of something dead :) Although if we do kill something it might end up cut up in my freezer... so I guess I have mixed emotions on the whole idea. It will be fun for Jacob to go and hunt and be in Antimony. He misses it so much so we are trying to go back as often as possible! No other fun plans for Halloween besides work and driving to Antimony, guess life isnt as exciting when you get older! :( I'm off for now, my stupid hour at the library is up and its going to kick me off! Cant believe I did 4 posts in 1 hour.... dang I'm good! Cant wait for my own internet! C ya!

So we had our first FHE this monday- spesh I know- and we decided to carve pumpkins! I think we both kinda forgot the lesson part cuz we just ended up doing pumpkins the whole time, oops. It was super fun though. I love that Jacob doesn't think im stupid, or at least he doesn't admit it, cuz I love to do corky things that I did when I was growing up. I love to do things little kids would probably love to do and he is such a good sport and just goes along with it! So we got us some pumpkins and a carving kit and went at it! I decided to do a Spider and He did a cat. It was funny because we both got so into that we werent even talking while we were carving! It was quite intense! It didnt take us too long and I think they both turned out great! My favorite part is cleaning out the middle stuff, it feels so cool! After we finished we did a little photo shoot.... as you can tell and the put candles in them and set them on our back porch, since we have no front one. hehe It was fun to just hang out with Jacob since he is never home. He got to work in Salt Lake on Monday so we were able to see each other and spend time together, things I miss and cant wait to do more of! Love you babe!

Lazy Sunday!

So Sunday got off to a real rough start! For some reason my phone was ahead of itself and it thought last weekend was daylight savings time so we ended up sleeping in on accident and missing our church! So we had to go to Jacob's mom's church at 11. Its a really good ward, we love it, but our ward probably thinks that we are inactive or something! We have only been once becuase of the honeymoon, Antimony and such so they are probably beginning to wonder! We will be gone this Sunday to to Antimony for the Spike elk hunt so we wont be there again! Oh well I guess.... after this we will have to be regular attenders of our own ward! After church we headed down to my parents for Thompson birthday dinners! We were a bit early so we decided to go down Provo Canyon and stop and hang out, take some pictures and go on a little walk! Although the leaves are pretty much done changing and our now dying, its still so pretty up there and just super relaxing! It was nice to get out and enjoy the outdoors before it gets freezing! As you will see in the pics below... we had some fun taking pics of ourselves! We do that alot, take pics of ourselves, we quite enjoy it! haha! After Provo Canyon we headed down for the birthday dinners! We havent really celebrated in a while so we did June-October birthdays! We even celebrated Jacob's which was in May since he wasn't in the fam yet and didnt get the pleasure of being sang to... which he loves so much. It was fun to get to see everyone and hang out. Since we live in Heber I feel like I see no anymore.... so it was good to catch up! We also bought a WII from Kirk and Missy that night so we headed home, hooked it right up and played away! I must say I kicked Jacob's butt at the first game of bowling... its so fun. I didnt take any pictures of us, but I must say we got really into it and my arm was even sore the next day... thanks Missy and Kirk!

Fun Filled Saturday

So I know this is retarted but I have to come to the stupid library to post on my blog cuz we dont have the internet yet, so thats why I have like 3 or 4 posts today because this is the only time I have had all week to do them! So sorry! But Saturday was super busy with lots of things to do! First, we picked up our new washer and dryer and they are so super nice! We havent had one since we got married and have had to do wash and his mom's and mine, so its nice to be able to do our own now and whenever we want! We then helped my mom campaign and walked all around South Jordan! The election is coming up, so she was getting out last minute flyers! We then went to Jill and Jerome's house to help sheetrock their basement! I guess technically Jacob helped and I cut hair and grocery shopped, but it was fun to be there and hang out with them for a little while! We then finally headed home to meet Erin and Dan for our exciting night on the Heber Creeper! Thanks to Wendy, we got tickets on the Halloween train and it was so fun! It goes down Provo canyon and tells scary stories and has props along the way.... thank heavens it wasn't too scary, cuz I get freaked out so easy! We then went back to our apartment and enjoyed some hot chocolate and a game of Chinese Checkers! Although Erin kicked our butts, it was fun to learn how to play! Early Halloween Party!

So last Friday Jacob and I went to his cousins Halloween Party in Sugarhouse! It was pretty much a family party with all his brothers and sisters and then his cousins that were hosting it! It was super fun! As you can see below... Jacob dressed up as a cave man and loved every second of it! It was so funny....! Then I was just a boring army girl again, I didnt feel like buying a new costume this year so I just went with something old! We had yummy dinner when we were there and then played Twister, Mad Gab and a whole bunch of other games! It was a really fun night! Halloween isnt quite as fun as you get older, but it was good to get together and hang out with the fam! Thanks Nicole and Casey!

Honeymoon In Florida!

So I know that my blog is not exactly in order.... but I have to catch up with wedding pics and honeymoon pics! I probably wont have my wedding for a little while so I decided to do the honeymoon cuz I have those all on my camera! So... we went to St. Petersburg Beach in Florida for our honeymoon and it was absolutely gorgeous! We stayed in a hotel right on the beach and even had a cute balcony that looked over the ocean! It was awesome! The first days we got there we mostly just layed out by the pool and enjoyed some and R and R! It was our first vacation to be on together and we had a total blast! Probably our 4th day there we headed to Busch Gardens. My sister and bro-in law had some free passes so we decided to go and use them! We werent thinking and wore flip flops to the park and we couldn't really ride any rides... so thank heavens we got in for free or I would have been ticked! But we did enjoy the zoo they have there... its pretty sweet! The next night we went on a fun dinner cruise that takes you down the gulf of mexico (I think)! It was totally romantic and so fun! They served us dinner on the boat and there was live entertainment and dancing and all sorts of fun stuff! I get motion sickness real easy, so the first part was spent with me trying to focus on the boat moving and watching the waves and then I finally got over it and had a really great time! Our hotel offered water trikes which me and Jacob thought sounded so fun! We later learned after riding them that they are more of a workout then an entertainer! Its hard to push this huge thing over the waves, but I guess it was pretty fun! Other then that we really just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves! It was so so so hot the whole time we were there which made it perfect! If anyone knows me, they know that I love the sun and laying out! I could have done it all day everyday we were there but we decided we should do a few other things while we were there! We ate at some really good restaurants which was fun! We decided to totally splurge one night and I got this huge thing of crab for like $40 or something and it was totally not even good! They didnt even give me crackers to open them with so I had to try to use my fork and it was just a disaster! I got so frustrated that I wasn't even hungry for them anymore and ended up just sharing Jacob's salmon with him, but other then that... the restaurants were all really good! It was crazy to leave 85 degree weather and come back to a freezing cold Utah! I think on our way home the flight attendent said it was only 40 degrees in Utah! But it was good to be home though and get back to life! We opened our wedding presents the night we got home and that was totally fun! We got tons of awesome stuff and hardley any duplicates to take back, which was nice! So all in all, Florida was a total blast! Hopefully we can go back again on our 5th year anniversary or something.... or even better..... Hawaii! haha! Here are some pics from the honeymoon! We were always swimming and such and the humidity was so bad that my hair just went frizzy anyways so I didnt even try! Pretty sunset on the last night we were there!

Probably the first Sunrise I have ever been awake for!

So Jacob and I just got back from Antimony on Sunday and it was a total blast! When we were dating I was in Antimony just about every weekend, but since Jacob moved up to Heber in July I havent been back.... so it was fun to go back and be married this time! We actually got to drive there together and come back together.... something we have been waiting to do for 6 months! We got down there on Friday night about 10 and just hung out with the fam! Saturday morning, at 6 freakin' AM, Me, Jacob, his brothers and wives, his dad and sisters all packed up and headed up the mountain for the opening day of the deer hunt! Yes, I went hunting! Jacob didnt have a tag this year, but his brothers and dad did so we went along for the ride! Jacob had me all spiffed out in my cowboy boots and Carhart, I blended right in! After doing that, we met my parents along with Jill, Linsey and their husbands back at the Rockin R! They had come down for my wedding reception that night. We all headed up the canyon a bit for a little fishing, site seeing and shooting! It was fun to have my family there and finally see the Antimony I have been talking about for the past 6 years! I'm not sure if they were quite as in love with it as I am, but I think they enjoyed being there and taking a little vacation. That night was our reception and we had a great turn out! We actually had quite a few people show up even though it was the opening day of the deer hunt, and I got to wear my cowboy boots with my wedding dress, so I was super excited! Erin's family was also down visiting Grandpa Burr last weekend so it was fun to have them there, especially to come to the reception! Sunday was just more of a relaxing day! We got to sleep in which was great, havent been able to do that in awhile! We hung out with the fam and then pretty much just packed up to come home! All in all, it was a perfect weekend! Now we are back to real life and work! Jacob headed back out to Vernal this morning till Friday which sucks, but I'm counting down the days till they are done there and he can be back home! He got to work in Salt Lake yesterday (Monday) and it was so fun to come home and make dinner and just be a little family! Its still weird to think we are married somedays cuz I dont ever see him! But November will come sooner then later hopefully and he can start working in Heber again! I sitll need to get pics of the wedding to post on here... so until then sorry!
