Spring Break in Mesa

 About a month ago, Jordan decided he wanted to go visit the Arizona campus of Intel (one of our top choices of companies after graduation). There is a pretty inexpensive flight that goes from Provo to Mesa so Logan and I decided to go too! The day before we left it was snowing, so we were thrilled to get into the warmer weather. 

Logan was pretty squirmy on the flight. He's pretty squirmy most days. We bribed him with candy and he did pretty good.

Jordan's aunt Bonnie was nice enough to let us stay at her beautiful home in Mesa. The Danielsons were excellent hosts to let hang out with them. They are awesome! Plus, their home is for sale, in case anyone is needing a great house in the area!

Bonnie had lots of cars and toys and Logan had a blast dumping all the toys out and playing with them. 

Bonnie also has the cutest little playhouse (with putting green). Logan really enjoyed ringing the doorbell, "washing" cups in the sink, and throwing the golf balls out the door.

However, Logan's favorite part of the trip was Dennis' truck. He was obsessed with it and would insist every 20 minutes that we go into the garage and stare at it's splendor. I agree with Logan, it's a very nice truck, and I'd love one of my own. It would make me and Logan so happy. Hahahaha!

On Friday, Logan and I dropped Jordan off at the Intel campus and then we met up with my friend Laura, who I met online when I was pregnant with Logan (we were part of a due date club, so I have about 20 online friends who were all due in the same month). I'd never met her before so it was really fun to see her in person and meet her little boy Warner. It was really fun to have lunch with her, and the boys were so adorable together.

They were chattering to each other in little boy language and pointing things out to each other.

We went to a little park to let the kids play but they didn't last very long.

At the end Warner got really sad and I asked Logan if he wanted to hold Warner's hand and they were so cute. They held hands all the way to the car. 

That afternoon we swam in Bonnie's pool, which was kind of cold but still nice, and then we had a yummy dinner of pizza, and went to the park with Dennis, Bonnie, and a bunch of their cute grandkids.

Logan really enjoyed the sand.

And the next morning, Dennis let Logan get in the driver seat of the truck, which was amazing for him.

On Saturday we met up with AJ and his family for lunch and then went to a park. AJ is Jordan's buddy from junior high. It was nice to see him and his family and we got to meet his newest little guy (but we didn't get a picture with him). 

On Saturday night we hung out for a bit and Jordan did a lot of homework. Soooo much homework and studying coming up this week for finals!

We had to wake up at 4:30 the next morning to leave for Provo. Sooooo early, but Logan still waved to the truck as we went out the garage. We had a window seat on the plane this time which made it a lot better for Logan. 

We had so much fun in Arizona. Thanks again Bonnie and Dennis for letting us stay with you. Hopefully we'll get to see more of you (and your truck, haha) in the future!

Spring Updates

The weather is finally (maybe?) clearing up in Georgia. It has been so crazy with all the rain! But we've really enjoyed the last few weeks of good weather and spent some time outside.

Jordan found the world's cutest tiniest frog today. We just had to share some pictures with everyone!

Our garden has sure been busy growing. I guess the rain has been good for it.

We have a few little bell peppers growing. Can you see this green one? Apparently they all start out green and then they change to yellow and red. 

Our daylilies have also been popping up. I just LOVE going out in the morning and seeing what colors I got that day. Yesterday I got four lilies, which is my record so far. They are just so pretty!

It just kills me that they only live for a day. 

The bad thing about spring, though, has been that Lexi has been shedding like crazy. I mean wayyyy worse than usual. I guess it's the weird weather. So I finally asked my friend Phyl who grooms to do Lexi. And Lexi was a very terrible dog for her! She acted like a total crazy dog in the bathtub and on the table. I really wish I'd gotten a video of it so you can see how completely awful she was.

She looks totally gorgeous now, though, and she's oh so soft.

So that's kind of what's been going on around here. We're taking a mini-vacay next week to Panama City Beach so fingers crossed that the weather stays nice!

Wild Thing

This week we were finally able to go to the Hogle Zoo with our cute little nieces! We've been planning on taking them ever since October, but things kept happening, like snow, rain, sickness, and everything else! But it finally worked out and we were able to spend the beautiful Saturday with almost all of Jordan's family. That zoo is so nice! Much nicer than the Sacramento Zoo. The penguins were so darling...you could watch them swim around and chase each other. I love penguins! The giraffes were great, too. This one (see picture below) stuck his head out of his house for a picture. Giraffes are so weird, but they are my favorite zoo animal!

All the nieces had such a great time. Little Molly brought her baby doll stroller along and zoom-zoomed all over the place. She would run at full speed and then fall over, and then hop up and keep running. It kept her parents busy but the rest of us were pretty amused.

I am so happy that the sun is shining! I got to wear flip flops for the first time this year, and it was wonderful. I'm always happier when it is spring and summer. Every time we leave our apartment and walk out into the sun, I throw my hands up into the air and say "I love the sun!" Jordan and I spent almost all week outside. We went on several walks and I studied outside and we had a picnic. It is so great. I even got a little bit of a sunburn from the zoo! YES!

Jordan and I are heading down to St. George this weekend to celebrate our six months of marriage! BYU doesn't have a spring break, so we're skipping two days of school and making our own. I've never been to St. George, and I've also never been to Las Vegas, so we're taking a side trip. I've been working like crazy on all my homework so that I will be ready when we leave Wednesday afternoon. I'm so excited! Look forward to the blog post about our wonderful adventures down south!

Spring is/might be here!

Wow, was I happy to see the sun shining today! Of course, I know that it's going to snow tonight just to spite me. But I'm not about to let such sunshine go to waste! It was so great that Jordan and I decided to have a wonderful picnic with this amazing picnic basket we got for our wedding (which we've never used before because it started to get cold right after that). Anyway, after I got the brilliant idea to have a picnic, we packed up and left. However, today was also our temple day, so we went all dressed up and picnicked by the temple. We got a lot of weired stares...I think people thought there was a proposal going on. But we had a great time! After that we went and did sealings at the Mt. Timpanogas Temple, and our sealer was hilarious. He kept telling the other couples that they needed to be holding hands (we, of course, were always holding hands). Then he invoked the "5-month" rule for Jordan and I. If you want to know what that is, you'll have to ask me. Ha ha.

PS: You might notice that my hair is lighter! My sister-in-law Emily is a great hair stylist who colored it blond for me. At first I wasn't sure but now I really like it! She cut Jordan's hair, too. Isn't he handsome? :)
