Springville Heritage Day

This morning I really wanted to go running! It was Jordan's turn to get up with Logan so I got to sleep until 7:30, but then Jordan wanted to go back to sleep (he was on a sleep deficit from staying up until four in the morning during his finance sleepover) so then he slept until 8:30...anyway, I finally got out the door at like 9:30. I ran up a hill today, so I was pretty proud that I'd pushed myself to do that.

When I got home this is what I found.

I saw on Facebook that Art City Donuts were going to be at Heritage Day today and I have been wanting them since we got back! And of course you should eat donuts after you go running. It just makes sense. So I got the boys going and in the car.

We were really excited to get our Boston Creme donuts as soon as we got there, and they did not disappoint! They were soooo good. Mmmm.

I was kind of expecting to leave after getting the donuts, but Heritage Day was a lot better than last year! I had a booth last year and it was so lame. There were no activities and hardly any people! This year it was great. They had tons of things to do! And most of it was free.

First, Logan made a button that he colored. You can see it in the picture below. And then he got to go shake some bells and sing and he got a whistle when he was done. They also had pinata making, painting, and weaving going on (we didn't do any of those things).

There was a line for free caricatures, and so Jordan was nice enough to stand in line while Logan and I walked around and got free popcorn, candy, and root beer. Finally it was our turn for the caricatures. It turned out more like a sketch, but still fun. I was surprised Logan sat for it.

We found the face painting booth but Logan was too nervous to have his face done so the girl put a plane on his arm instead. He wanted his daddy to hold him.

They also had "boats" to color and if you put it in the river/splash pad and followed it down to the end you got a prize, which was a set of paints! Very fun.

We finished our outing by playing on the playground. Of course Logan wanted to climb the scariest, most dangerous part of the whole thing. Be careful, little guy!

It was an unexpectedly fun day! I love it when that happens!

Springville House Tour

I've accepted the fact that my house will never be totally clean. Logan dumps things out as soon as I can put them away and I really try to keep it liveable but it's not spotless. I told Jordan the other day we needed a maid. He said, "We have one. Her name is Jamie." My reply was, "Jamie's doing a terrible job. She should be fired."

Anyway, with that in mind, here's the tour of our house in Springville! Sorry if it's bad quality, I did it on my phone.




It's been interesting living here so far. Our electricity was out for several days, and then our oven broke and wouldn't go higher than 350 degrees. Those things have all been fixed. We really like the neighborhood and Springville is a cute town.

Much Needed Family Time!

This weekend has been a GREAT one. Sadly, though, I didn't take many pictures. Since Jordan was out of town for our 6 year anniversary last weekend, Laurie was nice enough to take Logan for a sleepover Friday night so Jordan and I could go out for our anniversary. I've been needing some fun alone time with Jordan badly. I think our last date was probably three or four months ago. We've had some time without Logan since then but we were moving (STRESSFUL), doing the craft show (STRESSFUL), or going to the temple (great thing to do, but not really "fun"). Anyway, I thought we were going to the BYU game, but Jordan changed plans and surprised me at the last minute. We went to Magleby's (I got the blackened chicken and it was amazing!) and then we went to a free Neon Trees concert in Provo.

Saturday we got to sleep in until 7:30 (woot woot)! and then I worked. I got a huge order for 11 Disney Christmas shirts so I had to get that done while I was Logan-free! In between sessions of conference (I was watching conference while working), Jordan and I returned some stuff to Walmart and then we got lunch at Jimmy Johns. I'd traded the owner of the Springville franchise a couple ninja turtle masks for combos at the craft fair. Totally worth it! After the second session we headed up to get Logan. Jordan went to priesthood session with his dad and grandpa, and Laurie and I went to Krista's house to hang out.

This morning we got up at 6:30 and I cleaned a bit before conference. We realized that we were out of yeast so we couldn't make our traditional cinnamon rolls, but we did have Rhodes so I looked for an easy recipe and found this one. It was amazing! You should all make it. Super easy and super yummy. Next time I'm going to add nuts.

After the morning session, I suggested we go for a walk up in the canyon. We're only about ten minutes away. It's so pretty up there right now with the changing fall colors! We didn't get to see the fall colors in Georgia. 

And I finally took some pictures. YAY!

This is pretty much all day, every day.

I bought these overalls about four years ago. I loved them because of the horse in the pocket. It's attached by a little string. But Logan was pretty upset he couldn't play with the horse very well!

It was so nice to spend some relaxing time as a family this weekend. We really needed that. This past week our electicity went out and we were power-less for three days! We were able to stay with my grandparents for two of the days, but it was still stressful and got me way behind on work.  Jordan has been so busy, and I've been so busy, and this week is going to be crazy. Jordan's got interviews for GM, Intel, and VanGuard (they're even flying him out to Philadelphia this weekend!). Anyway, life is nuts, but I was very grateful for this family-centered weekend! I love my little family!

September Photo Post

I've been a really bad blogger lately. I've been so busy and for some reason Logan is asleep still at 7. I had a bad dream so I've been up for 40 minutes. So here's a bunch of pictures of what we've been up to. 

I got Logan some alphabet magnets to play with while I do dishes, but all he wants to do is chuck them down the stairs. He has gotten better at entertaining himself for a few minutes so I can clean, though.

Playing with my pots and pans is always a fun option. 

I discovered my love of snack pack puddings. We bought a huge thing of them from Costco. They are great. 

Logan and I went to the library for baby time a couple weeks ago. It was fun and the library has the most awesome train table. It's a really nice library.

Logan spends all day hugging Lexi. She deals with it. The other day I turned around and she was laying on her bed and he was laying on top of her. Poor dog. Sometimes he tries to hit her because he thinks it's funny. I try to stop him but usually I can't and Lexi has to go outside so she thinks she's in trouble even though I'm protecting her. *sigh*

I've been trying to get out of the house and make friends. so we've been to several MBASA (MBA Spouse Association) activities. I went to the opening social and book club, and Logan and I have been to two park playdates. One of them was superhero themed. Logan didn't have any superhero clothes so I made him a Batman shirt with detachable cape. This was the only picture of him on the superhero thing. He wasn't very cooperative. 

My cousin Linsey came to visit a couple weeks ago and we got to meet her daughter Hailey. She is SO cute and tiny. Picking her up was like picking up nothing. 

Krista let me borrow some of her stuff so we met up in American Fork, fortunately right by a Rocky Mountain Candy Factory. We bought the kids chocolate covered pretzels. Logan did excellent work with his.

We are right down the street from a cute store called Reams and we go grocery shopping there every week. They have some carts that have cars attached and Logan just loves them.

We got together with a few of the MBA wives that live in Springville and went to the splash pad. It was crazy awesome. I wish I'd taken more pictures and I wish they hadn't closed it last Saturday :( I mean, it's still hot!

Logan loves to climb in the dishwasher. I'm not such a huge fan.

Here we are at talk like a pirate day at Krispie Kreme! We still have all our pirate garb from last Halloween. Sadly, Logan's pirate pants didn't fit (he was 4 months old then) but his vest and bandana still worked!

Logan is learning to feed himself with a spoon. It's an extremely messy process and I only let him do it if I have a lot of time in the morning to give him a bath.

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Elycia and her kids and some of her friends. It was fun! They have a fun splash pad too.

Anyway. That's pretty much what we've been up to. Jordan's not in most the pictures because he's not around much. He goes to school from 7:30-5:30, then comes home, eats dinner, and then does homework until like 11. Also, last weekend he was in Atlanta for the internship conference and this weekend he's in Philadelphia. MBA life is harder than I thought. Hopefully we adjust to it soon!

We Moved!

So. We moved into this cute little house in Springville.

Unfortunately for you it's still not all put together so I'm not taking pictures yet. Sorry!
