Yeah, Uncle Mitchell is coming!

My brother Mitchell just got back from his mission a couple of weeks ago, and we are headed to TIA to pick him up for a visit this weekned.
He is 11 years younger than me, so I feel like I have been his mom as much as his sister. He is so fun, and we are all so excited!

He is holding "Tiny E", which is short for Tiny Elder. We made Tiny E so we could take Mitchell everywhere with us while he was away.

First scrimmage and manicures, too!

This last weekend was a busy one. Well, it had been a long week with Shayne gone from Sunday to Thursday. Saturday was Jordan's first scrimmage. I really don't understand the rules of football, all I know is that my baby looks so darn cute out there in his uniform!

My Kennedy turned 9 today, and so that meant that we got to celebrate her birthday this last weekend. We treated her and 4 friends to real manicures. Kennedy just loved is, chose pink nailpolish with flowers. Then, off to Fudruckers (be careful when you say that!) for dinner. She got a camera for her birthday, a nice little digital point and shoot. I am so loving that she picked that over the other things we offered her, she even passed up a crisp $100 bill! I will need an assistant someday, she might as well start training now.

Our computer is so wacko, it IS 7 years old, which is like 100 computer years, right?
So, that is the reason for my lull in blogging.
So here are some things said and heard in our house this last week...
"Jordan licked my arm!" Huh?
"Where are the goggles?" I am so sick of looking for, putting away, goggles.
"The lunch lady said I need more money" I always forget to send money.
"Which way does an athletic cup point, up or down?" Shayne is away on business, but lucky for Jordan, we figured it out.
"Where is my church shirt?" On the floor of your closet dear son, where you left it.
And, in between, a few "love you's" sprinkled here and there.

Weekened Recap

So, this last weekend was my birthday, I turned 32 thank you very much! Shayne and I went out to eat at the Bamboo Club, which is basically like PF CHangs/Pei Wei. Very good, and the service was great. It is just so nice to be alone. Riding in the car alone can not be overrated, and we kicked it old school to Flock of Seagulls on the way home.
Jordan got his football equipment this last weekend. I think it was a boost for his very tired state of mind to get his pads, exciting. Football practice is hard, and he hits the bed pretty hard every night. Drew found a use for the discarded jock strap, yup, he made a headband out of it.
I ordered a new lens and filter for my camera, a Canon 50mm 1.8. It was fairly inexpensive, so it is a good practice lens. Baby steps...
Shayne got a bike to start the bike training for the triathalon, it is in October, and the thought of doing a triathalon is overwhelming for me, so I am really proud he is gonna actually do it.

Beans really ARE the magical fruit!

Tonight there was a ward activity, the Fire and Ice dinner. There was a chili cookoff, which Shayne informed me that he had entered. Well, darn it if he won. Yee-haw, we have a legacy to pass on to our kids after all. I told him he has something new to add to his resume.
