Memorial Weekend Activities....

Friday night, Kurt and Kim stayed at the Holiday Inn in SG and since we were already down there...we hung out and went swimming and ate (of course). Saturday afternoon they came up and we had a BBQ with potato salad and all.

Grandpa built a HUGE swing set to set up at the ranch and Rourke got the kids going as high as possible. Kurt loved our "cool" weather and spent a lot of time entertaining the kids outdoors. Then we went to a bday dinner for Jed's sis, Shannon, at Jed's Mom's. Yummy..I love Holidays and BBQ food! Kurt and Kim headed to her mom's for, yet, another BBQ, but they ended up going to LUPITAS Mexican Restaurant....Kurt can talk anybody into anything!

Then Sunday after church Kurt and Kim returned and Konan and Robyn came up and the FUN began! We had an awesome array on the menu again...with BBQ ribs and Dutch oven chicken....Food seriously runs our family events...We then played a competitive game of Catch Phrase...as usual..things got serious! It all ends in fun though! I love spending time with my family....who knew I would actually {HEART} my mean brothers! We're planning a Vegas Getaway with Mom and us three...it should be fun...never a dull moment with the Palmer brothers!

We ended the weekend with {WORK} at the Ranch.....Michelle and I had to man-up and get dirty.....in the rain....with "supervisorS" (plural!) We thought the two of us=one Jed, but we were laughed at for suggesting such a thing. We did get the job done though. It was actually fun to learn the cement trade...hey when my kids are in school, I have options! We really got the hang of it by the end and you could definitely tell by the looks of the finished product...

P.S. You might not notice many pics of Jed in this post, well he worked pretty well the whole weekend. $$$$$, but bummer! He was around long enough to make our dutch oven chicken and it was yummo!

~These are random pics taken at my bro, Kurt's house...we love just hanging out, eating and drinkin Diet DP.....We love to shop at Arizona Mills, which is just a huge indoor outlet mall, and my mom and her BFF Pam bought twinner shirts..on purpose. So, the next day Pam and her hubby Bobby came over for homemade Cafe Rio and she wore her twinner shirt as promised! They are still the same goof balls they've always been!

....Which leads me to my next collage....They wanted their pictures taken...they really didn't get to creative with their poses...

I have been literally sitting in front of my computer all DAY! I haven't even gotten to check all my many blogging faves! So, after many hours of sorting and scanning loose pictures of my Mom's college years, childhood, wedding day and her children's childhood pics, then pulling apart 2 wedding albums and old family albums....I have finally organized my Mom's photos that have been sitting in a box for years! I handed each of my brothers an envelope of their photos and put several on a disc for each of us. I think I will put them in a book like this, so we can all look at these pictures.....what good are they in boxes or on a disc? This past weekend my brothers were both at my Mom's and we had a great time digging through boxes of old school work and objects from our pasts! It's amazing the laughs and memories that can come from a picture like this....

I haven't gotten the pics of our eventful weekend, so I thought I would finally post these pics of Broc's Birthday party. He wanted to have a Super Hero party and I found spiderman party supplies for dirt cheap at target, so we did! Between me and Morgan's supply of Super Hero dress-ups we costumed the whole party. We had a huge amount of Spidermans, two Batmans, one ninja turtle and one super girl (no costume neccessary). We played duck-duck-goose and we laughed so hard at these little kids "trying" to understand our instruction. It was fun even if they all got up and ran around the circle every time someone said GOOSE! Then we played pin the spiderman on the webb. Kyron was so into his part as Batman he forgot to take his mask off to eat his blue cupcake. I can't believe he's five and will be starting Kindergarten shortly! Love ya Broc!

ohhh the weather...

So, after days of warm weather we wake up to cloudy, cold and rainy weather. It poured here yesterday. I was getting a little nervous for my party, thinking that no one would want to buy a swimming suit in the rain. But, it ended up being decent in the evening! The rain limits our "Summer" activities. So, this is what the boys found to do....

SMORES INDOORS

I found this yummy recipe on this blog and want to share it!~ I made this last night for my party and it is awesome!
3/4 c. light corn syrup

3 T. butter

1 pkg. chocolate chips

1 t. vanilla

1 pkg. Golden Grahams cereal (approx. 9 cups)

3 c. marshmallows

Melt chocolate chips with corn syrup and butter. Stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal and mix. Stir in marshmallows. Spread on a cookie sheet to cool.

Summer is a bummer time of the year for avid DVR addicts, like myself. All my fave shows are ending. And some with random cliff hangers, that really leave ya hanging (hence the word cliff "hangers") The only thing that brings my spirits up in a time like this is............

So You Think You Can DANCE! YAY! It's on tonight! Morgan got me hooked. I wish we could fast forward through most of the auditions though b/c the best part of the show is their different dances they do every week as couples. IThey take all types of dancers from hip hop to ball room dancers and pair them up to do all different types. LOVE IT! So, if your BLUE because Desperate Housewives (lame ending) and American Idol (I wanted the other David) are over...then join me tonight!

I found these TO DO Lists on crazy crafty cousins. I am totally going to TRY this! I usually wait until Saturday to do the whole house, but this might make things easier. I have heard of people cleaning like this, but I've just never thought it sounded fun to clean everyday. I have also always wanted a step-by-step instruction on how to do deep cleaning in an easy way....so there we go...Everything I need to have a clean, efficient household...yeah right...but we'll try it anyway! Big Boy Bed: DAY 2

So, we attempt the big boy bed again. The RESULTS: LESS knocking, LESS CRYING.....SILENCE...ooh good silence! I checked in on him at 10:00pm....go to open the door....but the door won't budge. Poor baby ws sleeping against the door on the inside. I couldn't nudge the door enough to wake him to move him. So, to bed I go... knowing my baby is sleeping on the floor with no pillow or blanket....kinda sad. But, i am pretty sure he awoke and moved positions more than once and he awoke me at 5:20am out of revenge! TRY..TRY..TRY..again!

Big Boy Bed

After nights of thinking back and forth about whether or not to move Brayden up to a big boy bed.....we finally did it! He was starting to climb out of the only place I felt I had control of him.....Kind of sad right? We figured he was going to get hurt climbing out, so we let go of the control. We moved him into his big boy bed and he did pretty good for the first night. He stood at the door for awhile, knocking and crying. Then Jed went in and did his magic....scratched his back for awhile to calm him down and then he snuck out...and we waited.......SILENCE!???? Scary silence!!! So, this morning Jed came in and said he was asleep over in front of his dresser--at least he was in his room. (wish I would have thought to have him take a pic) So, he woke up at 6:15 am---huh? Early, but maybe this will fix his napping and such to where he'll be dog tired at night and just lay down in his cute little bed! Isn't it cute though!

For June Enrichment night we are doing this flag craft. I am really posting about this so that people searching for ideas can find it. I have issues trying to find new ideas for craft night, so I want to help other people find ideas! I am also offering a personal hygiene kit that you put with your 72 hour kits. It includes toothbrush/toothpaste, soap, shampoo, firstaid kit and wet wipes.

Jed has this talent of picking out the perfect card! SO TRUE! As much as I complain of the naughty things Brayden does....he is trying to potty train! So, he gets bonus points for that...the kid isn't even 2 yet....record! Broc was like 2 years 3 months, so he's one-upping Broc in one area!

Happy Mother's Day

A {Mother} holds her childrens hands for a while....their {hearts} foreverIsn't she gorgeous! My Mom was a cheerleader and homecoming queen (although she lost the pics to prove it, so we all pretend to not believe her). She still has her best friend from back in the day, Pam, who lives in AZ. But, when they get together it's like they're in high school again. And they are so much fun together! She moved around as a kid and I've never heard her complain! She is the big sister to a sister DeDee and a brother Darroll! They both live in Oregon, so she doesn't get to see them much. She's a Mom to two sons (Kurt and Konan) and a daughter (me) and two step-sons (Rourke and Chase) and a step-daughter (Bree)! She's a Grandma to 12 grandchildren(6 boys and 6 girls)! She's always the first to offer to buy the blessing outfit or the kindergarten graduation dress. She is giving and loves all like their her own children!

I know I have the best Mom ever! I really consider her as a Best Friend! She's that friend that I can tell anything and know that she loves me unconditionally! She is the one I love to shop with and laugh with! She is a "Go-er". She's always the one to plan the trips to Vegas or Mesquite to stay over and swim! She is the adventurous one that kicks me in to gear to go to movies and play BINGO (so fun). She's also a wonderful Grandma. She is just as goofy as the kids and they love it! She just makes everyone happy that she's around! She's such a good sport to let me and my brothers laugh at her expense...as long as we are all laughing she's happy! We love you Mom, you're the best! {we sent her these flowers}
