Summer Updates

Okay, I officially hold the title of the world's worst blogger. I know I have said it before, but it is so true. I don't see how people find the time, especially with little kids, to blog. All I want to do at night when I have a free moment is go to sleep as soon as Liam does or spend time with Josh. Anyway, I thought it was time to update whomever reads this blog on our Summer, since it pretty much comes to an end in a few weeks.

So, we have had a pretty fun Summer I guess. We took the tent trailer and went camping in June for the first time since Liam was born. It was fun, but freaking HOT!! It was just the three of us, and Gus our dog, so it was hard to keep Liam entertained the 2 days. We played in the river which he loved and just tried to have fun. We were hoping to go out more than once, but it doesn't look like we are going to. Oh well, maybe next year, although I don't think that will happen with a 6 month old.

We had a great 4th of July as well. Liam loved the North Ogden parade, and then that night we all headed down to Provo for the Stadium of Fire. The boys didn't go to that, they stayed at the hotel and went swimming, just the girls went to the concert and I must say that Carrie Underwood was great!! Way fun times!

The Monday after the 4th, we took Liam to the Trout Farm and had a blast. He loved all of the fish and we managed to catch 6 fish all being a pretty good size. We cooked them up for dinner and Liam even liked to eat them!

We have gone swimming a couple times at the North Ogden pool which Liam loves!!! He is so good in the water and loves going down the slides.

We also took Liam to the petting zoo that is up in Eden. That was fun too, but the day we went it was sooo hot so I think we will have to go back when it gets a little cooler.

We go to some sort of park almost everyday which is one of our favorite things to do, and on the really hot days when we don't want to be outside, we make a trip to the Treehouse.

Josh has been kind of tied down by work this Summer which is something we are not used to. He has to be on-call every other week, so we have to stay close to home.

We are almost finished with Liam's big boy room. We started it a little over a month ago, and I just need to finish putting up his border then we will be done. We painted it and got new carpet, and he also got his big boy bed. We got him a full size bed and it is HUGE! He loves it, I will post a pic of it when the room is finished. It has the drawers under it for his clothes so we don't have to get a dresser and a cool hiding place at the bottom. He has slept in it 4 nights now and does great! He falls right to sleep, doesn't get out, and sleeps so good in it and naps like a champ too!! We had to get 2 rails of course so he doesn't fall out and it has been a success.

For those of you who don't know, we are having a baby girl!! We are so excited but I am a little stressed trying to think of names so if anyone has any suggestions please share!!

Well, I guess that sums up our Summer. I have posted pics of random activities, and I will post some of Liam's room when I get it done. The next project is baby Girl's room so that should be fun.

More Disneyland Pics

Disneyland / Birthday 2010

Okay, I finally have a minute to catch up on my blogging. Two weeks ago we headed to Disneyland to spend a week with Mickey Mouse and we all had a blast!! Liam loved it and was so good the entire trip. We spent 4 days in Disneyland, not all in a row, and two days at the beach. Liam could ride most of the rides with the exception of Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain and of course the roller coasters. My Son is not afraid of anything, I guess that is good and bad. Good for him but bad for this Mom because I see some ER visits in our future. He loved most of the rides and I think his most favorite ride of all was the Carousel, which he totally loved!! We got to have breakfast with Minnie, Tigger, Eeyore, Chip and Dale, Captain Hook, and some other characters. My Mom and Pete went along with us, as well as my Mom's cousin, her husband and their 8 year old granddaughter who Liam adored. We had a great time and cant wait to go back in a few years.

We got home on Friday May 21, and then on Saturday the 22nd, we celebrated Liam's 2nd Birthday. We stayed with the Mickey Mouse theme and just had a nice BBQ at home with Family. Thank you to everyone who made his Birthday so special, we are so blessed to have Family who cares about him and loves him so much!!

I can't believe my little boy is 2, he is getting so big!! He is still off the charts for height being 37.5 inches, weighing 30 lbs which are about the measurements of a 3 year old. He is a big, strong healthy boy which should make for a great big brother!! That's right, Santa Clause is going to bring Liam a baby brother or sister for Christmas this year. I am 11 weeks pregnant, and my due date is December 22, 2010!!! We are so excited and can't wait to add another child to our family!! We announced it to everyone at Liam's Birthday party, so that is what the picture of the shirt is.

Anyway, I think I am done for now as I am tired after a long day at work!!

New Post Coming - I Promise

Okay, so we just got back from our week long Disneyland Vacation and had Liam's 2nd Birthday party yesterday. I promise a new post is coming as soon as I have time to sit down and go through all our pictures. Stay tuned....and maybe I will share another surprise!!! :0)

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend! On Friday we went to the Treehouse for a while so Liam could run around, since we have been cooped up in the house for a few days due to the weather. We had a lot of fun, but it was so crowded. I didn't even think about it being Spring break, it was almost too crowded. Note to self, don't go ton the Treehouse during a break from school. After that, we went out to Josh's brother Dale's house for dinner. It was great fun and Liam loved hanging out and seeing the "bock bocks" which are chickens in his lingo.

On Saturday we had the Lakeview Heights Easter Egg Hunt! It was so freaking cold!! We bundled Liam up in his snow pants, coat, hat and gloves and he didn't seem to mind the cold. He got tons of eggs and had a blast. He loved watching the other kids and loved running around in the snow. Good times!!

On Easter Sunday we spent a quiet day at home for most of the day. The Easter Bunny came to visit Liam and gave him half of his Easter gift, the other half is his sandbox and he didn't get that because of the bad weather we are supposed to have this week. He will get it when the weather stays nice for a while so he can actually enjoy it. The other part he did get was some eggs, shirts, swim suit and Toy Story. He didn't get too spoiled, we want to teach him more about the meaning of Easter so we got him a book to read that explains Easter is about Jesus and not so much about the Easter Bunny or candy filled eggs. He loves the book and we hope to teach him more next year. We went up to my Mom's for Easter dinner which was fun as usual. Liam loved showing off his dancing skills on her fireplace and going down her stairs on his bum with Grandpa (Pete) and Papa (my Dad). It was great fun!! We had a great Easter and look forward to some nicer weather so we can get out and play!

Easter Fun

What fun Easter pics we got of Liam!! We know a photographer named Amy Call who is just starting her business and trying to build her portfolio so she did these cute Easter mini sessions for only $30!! She gave us about 15-20 pics all edited on our own CD. I think she did a great job with them, considering Liam is 22 months old and has a very short attention span and wanted to explore her house. We are so excited for Easter! Liam has no clue about anything, but that's okay. He is getting some clothes, the movie Toy Story and of course some candy eggs in his Easter basket from the Easter bunny, and then we also bought him this cool sandbox/picnic table for outside. I will for sure post pics of Easter morning. Our neighborhood is also having an Easter Egg Hunt in the park right up the street so that will be so fun and I will post pics of that too.

Nothing else is new really. It was my Dad's Birthday on Tuesday so we had him over for dinner and he was so cute with Liam, they are great buds.

Loved the warm weather, hate the snow that is now on the ground. Oh well, hopefully that was the last of the snow storms. Anyway, look for more fun pics coming soon!!

Catch Up

I have turned into a serious blogger slacker!! I'm not on the computer much these days, Liam loves to play with me and hates when I get on the computer. I can get on when he watches cartoons which we don't do too often, as I say this he is engrossed with Mickey Mouse. When I do have a spare 2 hours while he is napping, I usually do laundry and maybe take an occasional nap myself. Anyway...what is new with the Leatherow's you ask?
Liam is doing so great. He is talking more and more, every now and then he'll blurt out a new word and totally shock us all. He will be 22 months next Monday and the time is flying. His favorite foods are waffles and cocoa puffs and yogurt for breakfast; he loves tuna sandwiches and chicken nuggets for lunch; and for dinner he eats different things. Like last night we went up to my Mom's for our traditional Corned Beef and cabbage St. Patrick's Day dinner and he had his pizza, then he downed all of my Corned Beef that was on my plate and ate a whole can of pears. He's such a funny eater. He loves to play outside, in fact that is where we spent most of our time yesterday. It is so nice to have that little park in our backyard and such a great big yard to run around and kick the ball and just run around and be silly. He loves to give hugs and kisses, he is just such a sweet boy.
Josh and I celebrated our 5 year Wedding Anniversary on Friday March 12th. We actually went up to the Alaskan Inn on Saturday and spent the night, and enjoyed a terrific dinner at the Timbermine. Thanks to my Mom and Pete for watching and staying with Liam so we could enjoy some much needed time alone!! Josh is such a wonderful Husband and Father, I couldn't imagine sharing a life with anyone else in the world. He loves us so much as we do him, thanks for being so wonderful babe!!
We haven't done much to the house as far as updating goes, Josh did put new outdoor lights on the garage and on both the back and front porch. We are going to tackle painting Liam's room here soon. We are going to transition him into his Toddler bed, and when we do that we are going to buy him all new bedding and paint as well. We are going to make his room a little boy room. I hope all goes well with that transition!!
I guess that is all that is going on with us. Oh ya, I didn't post any pics because I need to figure out how to use my new camera that Josh got for me. It is pink!! So, once we learn all about it I will take some pics to post.

Whatever Works

Tonight while I was cooking dinner Liam actually kept himself entertained. It was pretty cute, he got into the fridge and instead of getting the eggs out and throwing them on the floor like he usually does, he kept it clean and got out the bag of cuties and played with them. He loves balls and anything that resembles a ball, so he was pretty excited that there were like 7 orange "balls" that he could play with at once. He threw them across the kitchen and had a great time. Pics are posted.

After dinner, we played a family game of hide and seek, Liam's favorite game. Josh told Liam it was his turn to count, so he ran and hid in his fort (blankets thrown over our downstairs kitchen table that Josh made him) and said "one, two. That is as far as he got, but at least he can count to two...it was so cute!! One of his hiding spots is our bedroom clothes hamper. The pic posted is of him trying to climb out on his own but not quite making it and getting quite upset. Anyway, enjoy the pics and have a great rest of the week!!

Winter Fun!

We have been having a great time this Winter. I usually hate Winter and pretty much anything to do with the cold, but I must say we have been having a great time playing out in the snow with Liam. We went over to the sled hill in our backyard on Tuesday and had a great time tubing, until the tube went flat (there was already a hole in it). After that, we walked over to the park and Liam had a blast going down the slide with snow on it.

Yesterday, it was so cute. Liam went and got his jacket, put it on, then handed Josh his jacket and ran to get his shoes. After I put them on, he said "bye bye" and ran to the front door. Apparently he wanted to go outside and play with Josh. So, they went and played in the front yard on some snow banks and had a good time. He is so cute!! He had started to talk more, his new words are "all gone" "all done" "bubble (in the bath tub)" "nana (banana)" that is all I can think of right now. We also spend the majority of our day down in his playroom. He loves to play in his castle bouncer and with his blocks. The kid is always on the go!

Anyway, nothing is really new with Josh and I. We are counting the months until we go to Disneyland, we will be there in 4 months!!

Christmas and other stuff

I can't believe it's been almost 2 months since I have posted anything!! The Holidays were super busy, not to mention that Liam and I were sick for like 4 weeks, actually Liam still has a cough that is going on like 6 weeks now. Anyway...

We had such a great Christmas! Liam was so spoiled by all and had a great day. He didn't quite know what was going on, he was just so excited that he kept on getting new toys. Seriously, thank you to everyone who made this Christmas so magical and special. We went sledding over the Christmas/New Year's break and Liam had a blast. We didn't have to go far, just step out our back door and over to the hill in the park. Nothing else is really new here.

This weekend was a fun filled one. On Friday we went to the Tree house Museum and played for a bit, we always have fun there. Then on Saturday we went to Fat Cats at the Junction in Ogden and attempted to play Mini Golf, but Liam wasn't that interested, so we bagged it and played around the arcade for a bit and in the Kids Play Zone which Liam really enjoyed playing on the slide. We had so much fun and love doing things with Liam in hopes to make great memories. I promise I will be better at blogging to those of you who read the blog.
