Avery's 5 months old!

Avery's 5 months old! We can't believe it. This time last year, I was roughly 8 weeks pregnant and Avery was the size of what, a blueberry or something?! Avery is 14.2 lb. and 25 in. based on my best measurements. She is rolling from her back to her front, sitting up, and stands with help. These pictures are from Sunday before we headed out to church. Grammy and Poppy were just getting ready to leave after their 12 day visit with us.

Avery's first football game

Football season is offically here and Avery attended her first game this past Saturday evening. It was a late game so she was only there for the first quarter but she did really well. It was about time for her cereal when we arrived so we "tailgated" to accomplish this. She was fascinated by all the activity, colors, and fireworks inside the stadium. I don't know if it's too visible, but she's decked out in her ISU onesie. Go Redbirds!

Sitting pretty

So Avery's newest milestone is sitting up by herself. She does pretty well until she leans a little too far to one side and then she topples over. She prefers sitting to laying down now and would actually prefer standing if she could figure it out. What a big girl!

Avery has graduated to vegetables. She still eats cereal, but now she has veggies for her evening meal. The first vegetable for her to try was green beans. I don't know what we were expecting, a little bit of a fight or at least a face, but no, she swallowed them down like there was nothing to it. She's much braver than me. She did pause after the first bite because it wasn't what she had been expecting, but otherwise, she kept opening that mouth for more. Also, I've attached a link to the video of that night.

We've recently purchased a Mac computer that can do many amazing things with pictures and videos. One thing that it will do is take the video we've taken of Avery from our camcorder and place it on the computer. We can then assign a link to it so that all of you can view it. Anyway- here's our first shot at it. This video is of Avery laughing while in her Exersaucer. Enjoy!

The Jumpster

We tested out a new contraption this past weekend- the Jumpster. She hasn't quite figured out that she can bounce around yet but she does enjoy walking in circles and then having it turn her around again. I'm sure there will be many more interesting pictures to come on this one...

Aaron's 31st birthday

Aaron's 31st birthday was this past Friday. To celebrate, we bought tickets for the Kenny Chesney concert in St. Louis. My mom offered to keep Avery for that night so that we could have an evening to ourselves and stay at a hotel afterwards. That was the first night that Avery had been away from both of us overnight. She did fine, and I was a wreck when I first had to leave her. Aaron and I went to dinner at a sushi restaurant called The Drunken Fish. It was very good! I tried my first piece of sushi, Spicy Tuna. After dinner we headed to the concert where we got rained on for almost the entire time. It was still a lot of fun because Kenny puts on great concerts. This one in particular went on for hours and made us quickly remember that we are parents of an infant because we were yawning at 9:30. The next day we did a bit of shopping, picked up Avery, and headed home to have a birthday dinner of homemade pizza with Aaron's parents and Matt and Ellyn.

Rosy cheeks

Aaron's mom and dad are here visiting for about 2 weeks. Today they took Avery for a walk in her stroller. It was a gorgeous day for a walk with a sunny, nice breeze and 70 degree weather. She came home with some rosy cheeks as proof, and they were still that way when she went to bed tonight.
