Last Wednesday, Isaac had his end of the year party at school and I volunteered to help with games. The kids had a lot of fun, we started out outside but the rain came and we headed indoors.
We fed 'real' spaghetti to Zoe the other night, actually I should say, she fed herself and what a mess! I love the freedom we get now that she can feed herself but I forgot how messy it is!
We just got a hand me down baby swing from my sister and Zoe loves it!
She is continuing to take more steps, I think she's up to three at a time now. I can't decide if I should look forward to her learning to walk or not. Maybe it will slow her down for a little while?!
She is making the most adorable sounds now and says some 'words'. My favorite is 'sha' or 'cha' with a short 'A' sound. She literally screams at the top of her lungs when she is EXTREMELY happy, I worry what the neighbors are thinking when the windows are open! She loves to shake her head no with a big smile on her face which is so cute because she does it at appropriate times! I can't believe that she is going to be one year old in a little over 2 months! Where does the time go? Probably the same place my mind went a long time ago!
We went to Daytona, Florida last week with my parents and my sister and her family for vacation. It was so nice to be at the beach again and enjoy some time off from reality. Vacation at the beach with a 10 month old isn't exactly relaxing but who can complain about being at the beach?! We didn't manage to get Zoe outside too much, I was paranoid about sunburn...a lot of us had issues with sunburn no matter how often we applied sunscreen...and it was such a major event to get her ready to go out so her time outside was usually in the evening. And she took so many naps (I'm not complaining!) that there was little time to even get her out there! We still had a great time and the kids loved every minute of it. We spent a lot of time swimming and playing at the beach (Isaac got swimmers ear, sunburn, a skin rash and a major breakout of eczema...he has sensitive skin and the rash and eczema are always a problem when we go to the beach...but he was a trooper and still managed to have a great time). Our adventures included dinner at the Cruisin' Cafe, miniature golf and a visit to Daytona 500. My cousin and her family were able to come for a visit (they live 2 1/2 hours away) and it was great to see them...it had been 3 years! The beach house was beautiful, the nicest by far. The week went by way to fast, as it always does on vacation.
