The doctor put Aidan on a cocktail of heavy antibiotics and antacids for two weeks.  The other problem they discovered was that Aidan has elevated liver numbers, so they are going to run a battery of tests, as well as do a stomach scope, in about three weeks, especially looking for autoimmune problems which can be brought on by severe stress. He's pretty discouraged at the moment, with this and everything else.  Any cheering up or emails to him are welcome.  His ipod is broken, so he hasn't checked his email in about two months, but I will check it for him.

William has been dutifully, patiently, going to school all this time, going to John's when it is his turn, having a good attitude, and trying dearly to be the one who makes the peace.  He has put all the world on his shoulders, but breaks down. I am working daily  to keep him from getting sidelined and make sure that his needs are met.

Theo is having a hard time, mostly acting out.  I try to give him as much attention as possible, but some days it is just about surviving.

A. was diagnosed (after weeks of intense stomach pain) with an overgrowth of H. Pylori bacteria.  We go to the gastroenterologist on Monday.  I will keep everyone updated.
One of the things I am most grateful for right now.  Every time I turn on the central heat, every time I turn the key of my car and drive, every time I go to the store and load up my cart with food, I am awed, amazed, grateful, and well aware how lucky I am that I can provide for my boys, and do so well and comfortably.  It is an honor to work and provide for a family.  So many people see it as some sort of burden that gets in the way of their real selves, or what they truly deserve to be doing.  But I know how much goes in to keeping the heat on, to providing nutritious, delicious food, and to using some funds for fun and enjoyment.  I would gladly work in a coal mine to accomplish this, and the most amazing blessing of all, is that, thanks to my family, I have a job that is coal-dust free.

Thank you.

Big kiddo not doing so well.  I myself have had nightmares every night for months.  It is a testament to how deep psychological wounds can go.   I can't even begin to say, or remember, what a normal unremarkable day feels like.

I heard one commentator referring to the state of politics here in the US as civil war.  That is too bad.  Why can't we just get along?  I, for one, am tired of wars fought inside and out.
