Let the Utah fun begin!

Let the fun in Utah begin! We decided to spend a week in Utah without Joe :( just to visit family for a while before heading to Georgia. Joe is an awesome daddy and husband and always support us visiting family in Utah while he stays home and works! Love you Joe! I of course love going to Utah. I love having people to hang out with during the day, shopping with my mom and sister, yummy dinners together, late night tv watching, visiting with my parents, help with the kids, and the fun times we have!

The girls woke up Friday morning and saw our old prom dresses hanging in the closet and just had to try them on!

Friday my mom, sister, and I went shopping at the mall and then met Ryan for dinner at Pizza factory. My mom spoiled me and the kids with clothes- thanks Mom! It was such a fun day because I sure miss having people to go shopping with. We then visited Ryan and Alysha's "repartments". The girls think it is so fun to visit! 

Saturday we had a Parsons Family Reunion. My Grandpa's side and his brother's side all came for a get together with games, food, and visiting! I really do love Uncle Bob and Aunt Connie and their family!

That night Brent asked McKinley if she wanted him to read her a book. She excitedly said yes. He began to read one of his college finance books and she sat there listening for about 5 minutes. She kept looking at him with this confused look and he would just continue on reading. Finally he asked her if she liked the story and she said, "No. This is really boring and I don't know what you are talking about." Brent was laughing so hard!

That night we put Grey to bed and Poppa stayed with him while the girls went to watch the Summerfest Fireworks.  Alysha's sister-in-law Rachel has a great view from her apartment so we went there with them to watch the fireworks. It was really fun and we missed Joe tons because he loves fireworks!

 Sunday we had a nice time with my family, a yummy fried rice dinner made by Poppa, FaceTime with Daddy, Smores in the backyard, and a walk to the park. I love Utah evenings!

To Utah We Go!

June 7 was McKinley's last day of Kindergarten! She has been so excited for the teddy bear picnic being held on the last day of school. They only had to go in the morning for an hour and a half so after that, we left to go see family in Utah!

I was pretty proud of myself for packing everything, loading the car, stopping for gas, snacks, and potty  breaks, and driving the whole way by myself with the three kiddos. However, soon after my proud moment I realized I am 28 years old, I probably should be able to do all those things. :) Anyway, the kids were absolutely awesome on the drive! Now, if only I wouldn't have had to go the bathroom so bad the last 45 minutes it would have been a little more comfortable! :)

I take so many random pictures of my kids with my phone. I sure love them lots and love to capture small, random moments of their days and little glimpses of their personalities. 

I think Grey caught a cold while traveling across the country to Georgia. Poor baby was sick with a cold and it really took a few weeks for him to recover completely. I missed my happy, sleeping through the night boy. McKinley had bad allergies in Utah while we were gone and was pretty sick for a few days when we got back. Sleeping babies are just too precious not to take pictures of. 

We had the last week of preschool at our house and Kylie had fun! I have loved watching her grow and learn through preschool this year. For show'n'tell she was excited to show her new turtle that Grandma bought her at the Aquarium!

Sometimes squash comes out his nose! That's because none of it actually goes in his mouth. This boy does not like food!! I can't get him to eat anything!!

McKinley received her yearbook and was so excited to show us all the pictures of her and was excited about the love note we left her! I know it's just kindergarten, but a yearbook! Ahhh, she is growing up!

We signed the papers to purchase our home and so we celebrated at The Streets of New York pizza with the Mengs. It was delicious and such a fun night. However, dinner with 6 kids is a little crazy!

We had Kylie's friend from dance class Grace over for the day. Kylie had lots of fun playing with her in the morning and then while McKinley was at school. They played everything!! The made jewelry, colored, dressed up, played in the tent, had a tea party, played with the dollhouse, jumped on the tramp, and played Barbies. They were busy little girls! It is fun for me to watch Kylie be "in charge", although Grace was quite bossy which Kylie is fine with. McKinley always tells Kylie what to do so I like with Kylie has to make up and decide what to do with her own friends.

McKinley is such a great, helpful big sister. She has been helping change Greyson's diapers lately. I don't mind at all! ;)

I usually don't love the girls to leave the house in dress ups but this particularly evening I didn't worry about it. (I know, just let them be little girls!) We were just headed to McKinley's dance class and Kylie really wanted to wear her Tangled dress. She then talked me into a photo shoot of her in her costume. Too cute Ky Bug!

Everyone is glad when Daddy comes home!

Trip to Georgia

Over the Memorial Day weekend we took a trip out to Warner Robins, GA to house hunt!! My dad was so nice to help us out by letting us "borrow" frequent flyer miles, love you!! All 5 of us flew up to SLC Thursday afternoon and we slept over at my parents that night. The girls were staying with them while Joe, Grey, and I went to Georgia. 

 We left early Friday morning and had a good flight to Atlanta. Grey did pretty well on the three hour flight.  It was kind of a stressful day after the flight though. The flight was full so Joe volunteered to have his carry on go on the plane and then we would pick it up with mine at the baggage claim. Well they lost his for a couple of hours! Then the rental car line was so long! Then there was tons of traffic and we hadn't eaten since a little breakfast at like 7:00 am. We finally got to Warner Robins around 6:30 pm and we thought we would be there by 3:00. I had a little melt down wondering why we "choose" to live so far away! :( After eating and starting to look at homes I felt a little better.

 Our first day of house hunting was a success. We saw lots of great options and learned that we are so glad we flew out to look at houses because online and actually being there are two very different things! We were exhausted by the end of the day though!

The next morning we house hunted all morning but were done by lunch. Our real estate agent, Kim, was busy on Saturday so we went around with one of her coworkers for the morning. After seeing quite a few homes, we stopped at Sonny's BBQ Pit. It was Delicious and we had the biggest Diet Cokes ever! Welcome to the South!

 We drove up to Macon, GA which was a little ghetto but we didn't go up to the newer part of town. I had to go the bathroom so bad so we stopped at a gas station there. I told Kim that and she said, "You stopped at a Macon gas station bathroom, wow, you are brave"! We also drove around the base and around town a lot more. We were able to see the dental clinic on base and it looks really nice!

Sunday we attended two different wards and definitely felt more comfortable in one ward over the other. That helped us a lot in our house hunting options. Grey was such a sweaty trooper! :)

And the best part of all- We found a house!! We actually were in love with a home that was brand new, gorgeous, and had such a great layout but was in a new neighborhood with only a few other houses and no kids. We were nervous that the girls wouldn't have any neighborhood friends and there would be tons of construction in the next few years.

We did find a neighborhood that we loved, was well established, had a park, and we met a few neighbors that had kids our kids ages. We felt like it was just a family friendly place. The house was only framed so we are able to pick out our own stuff as well. We are really excited!

We then flew back to SLC on Monday and met the girls at the airport. We then all flew back to Las Vegas together.

We are so grateful to our families for taking care of our girls while we were gone. They had tons of fun and were able to spend time with both families! Thank you, thank you!

We are excited and so nervous to move to Georgia. We are excited about our house and how beautiful it is going to be. We are excited to have a fun backyard in a fun neighborhood. It's going to be quite a new experience and lots of changes being so far away but it will be exciting! Buying a house is so stressful and such a huge deal! I keep thinking about everything about the two houses we loved- one is better in some aspects and the other in other aspects. It's been really hard trying to figure out if we made the right decision but I am coming to understand that we did. We are excited for this next adventure in our lives!
